For me the autotune intro is amazing, because I think she is painting a picture of being underwater, in the deep. Acoustically, that's what it sounds like and it is perfect. OIts not there because she needs it. Its an artistic choice to intro the song that way, and that's what's really interesting. I thought it was great, although I agree with you, she doesn't need it. She's got an amazing voice. She scats and raps a lot too, so I think she enjoys playing with textures. I've only heard her use it like this in Rolling in the Deep, so I think it is tied to water as an acoustic choice. I'd love to hear her take on it though.

Autotune is not bad for creativity purpose just to give different flavor to the sonh But if you use autotune for whole part of the song for singing, it's a sin already especially here in philippines where our standard of performing in singing live is so high because we loved live performances so much.
