I finally solved this mission after about a dozen tries of getting beat totally to crap. I had a King Crab with dual LB20X and a couple medium lasers, and an LRM10. I went very slowly, and used lasers cleared away as much tree and building as I could in the sections before the spaceport, before the enemy spawns triggered, to give me and my lancemates as free a field of fire as possible. At the first landing pad I had my lance hide behind the wall around the landing pad, then I went forward onto the pad to trigger the dropship landing. I quickly reversed course and came back down the ramp, to where my lance was waiting, we created kind of a killbox between the pad wall and the straight wall at the bottom of the ramp. Finally, a run where we weren't beat totally to crap, just good way to crap. After we took care of those 4 guys, I took my lance over into the field west of the 2nd landing pad-the one that triggers the 2nd dropship with Yamata and his lance-about 600m away from the pad's western ramp. My reasoning was that the Annihilator is slow AF and the other lancekids would far outpace Yamata over the distance they'd need to travel from their drop, giving us more time to work on the small guys. My lance and I pasted guys for a good while before Yamata made his appearance over the pad rise. When he did, I locked on him and just kept firing LRMs at him until the rest of my lance had finished taking care of the smaller mechs, and were able to help me out in finishing Yamata off with my LBs.
I recently completed this mission. Finally getting to play MW5 with the whole lock down thing going on. I piloted an Annihilator ANH-1E with: ER Large Laser x4 (Tier 5) Medium Pulse Laserx4 (Tier 4) A.I. piloted: Atlas AS7-D (X2) AC-20 LRM-20 SRM-6 Medium Laser x4 Mauler MAL-MX90 AC/2 x4 SRM-2 Large laser x2 I play the slow Annihilator as a sniper the Tier 5 ER Large lasers have great range. The rest of the mechs traded off brawling. This was my second time trying the mission. The first time, I used completely different mechs (I was in an Boars Head Atlas) and got wiped out by the final Annihilator. A great mission, but tough.
Im on this mission solo but i am stuck on the drop ship then the 4 big mechs come in play, i use tge king crab and like the ahnialator tp try take them out but i keep going down, any ideas on what i should do to pass the mission cause im so close to beat it but i dont have friends to play this wit or just trying to pass it itself
Solo is tough because the AI pilots are not very good. The biggest suggestion I can make is to make sure all the AI pilots have only long range weapons. I typically give the AI all LRM10s and just let them attack from distance. Most of the time they soften up the enemies for me to swing in and just clean them up.
Im on this mission on xbox since it am out, i am using some nice mechs like king crab and battlemaster and an ahnihleator but i still cant beat it i pass all the tanks and easily get to the last point but get killed by tge mechs that get dropped, do you have any cluez to what i need to do in order to pass it cause most videos i see ppl have an atlas please tell me what do i need in order to pass it

awesome. There are so many ways to beat this missions, I always enjoy finding out how others have done them.
