hey, I just commissioned last week, branched FA as well. Ive been talking to a MSG I know and he told me to read some of the gunnery FMs. Would you have have suggestions that I should be looking at before BOLC. Id also love to hear more about safety, thanks for the video, really informative!
Currently here now. Alot of stuff you will not be able to grasp until your instructor begins to teach. A LT teaching himself is dangerous. You can follow the steps action drills, but you will not be issued the material until you start BOLC. Hang out and enjoy yourself for a bit. You'll get all you need once you start.
Definitely let the instructors teach you the right way to do it...and make sure you listen and take good notes. Too many units do things their own way and things get sloppy. When you become an FSO/FDO you have a good opportunity to gain a lot of respect by knowing and doing things the right way.
When I went through BOLC they would give you 6/7 JFO sims but would not certify you. I just recently heard also that they were not doing any JFO in BOLC so I'm not 100% sure. Which unit are you going to? Our National Guard unit is starting to get JFO slots which is unheard of but that's definitely a good sign. -LT Rooney
Greetings sir. Currently an active duty E-5 13F/Fire Support Specialist("ForwardObserver"/"FISTer"). If I eventually make it to OCS and my intention/top preference is to become a FA Officer, do I have a pretty significant chance of being given that if I graduate OCS? Thank you for your time Sir.
hey sir, i am an old redleg. now that females are in FA, where do you guys pee? we used to just pee outside the camo net. i guess you cant do that anymore with females around

Hey when I went through OCS there were more FA slots than any other branch slots available so I would guess you should get FA no problem.

Field shit with women is Same place as dudes, just walk out and find a spot. Just don’t be weird about it. They wanted this lifestyle so they get it.
lol thanks
Depends on the female from my experience, some act just like the males, some choose to use a "shower" tent
