We can assure you all that it's real. This film is the pre-film where several locations with dominoes falling are edited together.
However, the final live event on 1 August 2013 was a 3 km stretch of 7000 domino blocks (breeze blocks) falling through the inner city of Copenhagen with thousands of people lined up to see it. The artistic company, Station House Opera, has done the same event in fx Helsinki, Marseille, London and Ljubljana. Next up is Mons, Rennes and Stockholm.

Its a two part event. Part 1 from Amager to Nikolaj Church (this video) was filmed in advance and shown on some screens at 16:15 on Aug. 1. Part 2 from Nikolaj Church to the town hall was started live at 16:30, I don't know if there will be a video of part 2.

Now let's see something really funny - run the film in reverse - setting up dominoes for toppling would be so much easier that way, instead of doing them individually and having them fall down if they get knocked or a sudden wind catches them!
If somebody accidentally knocks down a domino too early, they can pull out a few dominos ahead of where the dominos already got knocked down to to end the chain reaction.

Remarkable! I can only suggest one improvement! If can't be done by domino, Have the boat be powered on and off by a dog that is conditioned to respond to the ending of the domino series, to power boat on, and conditioned to open boat door on other end based on vision.
Then human guys can stand there for in case of emergency malfunction
