I am 81 years old and haven't cooked a ham in 70 years! I have a 45 pound ham to cook for Bingo night and boy!! I'll tell ya !! When they ladies taste this recipe !! It'll have them spinning in their walkers!!!
***UPDATE: This was the best ham I have ever tasted. Everybody loved it.*** I am making my ham following your recipe and just put it in the oven a few minutes ago. It smells so good already, and I can't wait to taste the results. I will update after dinner.
Looks amazing my grandfather made his ham like this, the only thing he did different he poured all the ingredients into the pineapple can. Seeing your recipe made me tear up. I miss him so much he passed in 2019 at 92yrs old. He left me with some great recipes❤️
Well, I have a 18-pound ham to cook for a Christmas dinner at my granddaughter's home. I haven't baked a ham in over 20 years. I am 71 female I've been looking on YT for a glazed ham recipe. When I came across your recipe, bingo. this is the recipe I want to try for Christmas dinner 2023. I just know it will be delicious. Thank you!! Merry Christmas.
@marypack7313, yes this does look Good! You should Also try Cooking With Tammy Bourbon Honey glazed Ham!! That's the one I Chose, She has So Many Good recipes! But I'm Also using This Channel as to how I'm adding pineapples, and Cherries, that's the only difference!
This is my 1st time making a ham. Hopefully it goes well. I don't have any toothpicks tho..on my way to the market now. It's almost 6am. Everyone enjoy your holiday.
I am making this ham today as a centerpiece to our early thanksgiving buffet! This is the ham I grew UP ON in Mississippi but I never got the recipe from my Daddy before he passed. You have no idea what this means to me. Let’s start out early giving thanks. Thank you God for RUclips and thank you Brother for this recipe. God Bless.,
Fantastic! Growing up, my father always made the holiday hams for our family. He incorporated a bit of dry mustard in his glaze just to kick in a bit of spice. Then he would sprinkled some cinnamon over the pineapples and cherries as a finishing touch. I have since inherited the responsibility for the family, keeping his memory alive and the tradition going. ❤ The other thing you can do with the bone, specially if you leave a bit of meat on it, is make a delicious navy bean and ham soup! Slow cooked in a crock pot! Whew wee! Talk about money! When you make the soup from a holiday ham there ain’t nothing that even comes close!
This was so good last year when I made it but I noticed it probably would have been better if you drizzle the sauce between the slices before putting the pineapple and stuff but this recipe is top tier ❤ this is going to be my second year making this !
Well, I think I'll be changing up how I do the ham today! It's been just me and my dad for years, so there is always leftovers. Ham sandwiches are amazing, but I also dice a bunch of it up, spread it out on a sheet pan and freeze it. Wonderful to grab a handful or two of diced ham to throw in the pan for omelets, hash, or use in potato soup. And we even saved the bone too to use later in a pot of pinto beans.
@silverskyranch Thank you for the ideas: diced up, freeze… for omelets, hash, potatoes soup…I would add to split pea and ham, funeral potatoes/cheesy potato casserole. Also could make ham and cheese pockets or top on pizza ham, chicken pineapple, cheese and bbq sauce. Thanks for getting my mind going as its just my husband and I and he hasn’t had ham since his mom passed years ago so I wanted to do something special. I got my ham from Costco, when I got home I was like what was I thinking? We won’t be able to use all this. I didn’t think about cubing and freezing for future meals. Again, thank you! Merry Christmas!
I absolutely love all your videos ❤️😍 I used a older ham video I been using for 2 years now & my family loves it ❤️😍 I always just added pineapple 🍍 But all the other ingredients you had. I actually used your yams 🍠 video today, Mac & cheese, green beans & ham 😍😍😍😍😍 I started cooking at 3am 🕒 & everything is done now … Everyone is eating & talking & I’m ready for everyone to leave so I can clean up my house 🏡 Happy Easter 🐣 Thanks for all the amazing recipes ❤
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I just made this and let me tell you i usually don’t go for sweet ham but this right here blew my expectations through the roof! The sauce was so good I actually saved some to dip my fruit in lol.
I made this last night for Thanksgiving. It was my first time in charge of making the ham and honestly I was a little nervous. But AB made this simple and easy. My family loved it so much that they said I now have to make it for every holiday. I used an uncut ham but that's just my preference. I look forward to making this again for Christmas. I want to make it with your potato salad. I will watch more of you videos. And this will always be my go to glaze. Thank you so much!
I accidentally bought an 8oz can of pineapple so I used water to make up the difference...I just premade the glaze tonight so its one less thing for me to fool with tomorrow and it is DELICIOUS!!! Thank you AB!
Hi I’ve been looking for someone who make spiral ham the old fashion way with the pineapple and cherries like my mamacita use to make it I’m so happy I found you . I will make it .
Hi AB. Had this for family dinner today. I used a ham that wasn’t spiral. It was best ham I have had in a long long time. Love the easy directions. Hope everyone had a great day! Thank- you! It was fire
Now that ham looks lovely and deeeeelicious 😋!! I like to pierce my ham with whole cloves, and also, I add a little ground cloves to my glaze. It really gives it a unique flavor!
I am embarassed to say that this is my first year making a ham, my work provided me a good size one to cook for our thanksgiving dinner. I felt a little scared as of course I don't want to mess it up but after watching your video I am now looking forward to trying this out and showing off to my co workers, I subscribed and thanks!!
Your food always looks so good. I might make the ham later this year. I cheated and bought a Honey Baked Ham for Easter.😊 I am still making all the sides cause I was raised right. Thanks for the excellent instructions on all your videos.
we do northern style in Detroit, which is our glaze is Vernors, brown sugar, and pineapple juice, and our hams are Maple smoked up here. and we use whole cloves stuck directly into the ham with pineapple rings and Michigan cherrys, and the ham is always cooked bone side down in the pan. its the best!!!!!
Hi there, I just want to say thank you for this recipe. I made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it and complimented on how well it turn out This is my first attempt ever to make ham and it was so tasty! Thank you for sharing. ❤
I have never glazed my ham, but have always basted w the pineapple juice. I cross cut it, stud w clove, secure the pineapple rings ( I skip the cherries) and baste every 1/2 hr or so w the pan drippings. The bone ( and some saved ham) is for either split pea and ham soup or navy bean and ham soup. Super yummy!
Happy Easter, sir. This looks amazing. I have never done a ham before but this recipe looks super simple and heavy on flavor. I will definitely give this a try. Thanks, AB.
My family is all gone and it’s times like holiday dinners that I miss them the most. Sitting around the table sharing stories, sharing laughs, sharing love and making memories because in the end, memories are all we have.😢
Oh yeah buddy!!! I take the left over ham with bone and boil in a large pot for 1 hour then add 1 package of pinto beans or any bean you like and add 1 onion. Let the beans cook til tender, about 2 to 3 hours. Take the bone out and you have some Bomb southern beans. Make some corn bread and enjoy! I have 1 pro tip for you AB and thats to put 2 maraschino cherry on each tooth pick, this will prevent the foil from getting holes in it. ✝️ Happy Easter 🐣
Omg thank you so much for sharing your recipe! It came out delicious. My favorite part is how easy you made the glaze. It look fabulous! Mine looks as good as yours! Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
I’ve stumbled upon you just in time for the holidays. I’ve watched 3 videos since getting on RUclips and all of them happened to be you when I clicked on them. Your dishes look the best

Happy Easter to you and yours sir. I’ve done ham in a similar way but I’ve added plain yellow mustard to my glaze. Adds a little bit of tart to the sweetness
Love me some ham with the fixings of pineapple and cherries...and that glaze. My parents would add soda to the ham too to tha ham. Coke, Pepsi, or Rootbeer would give the glaze a nice sweet flavour. But for a citrus flavor, they would use Squirt or Sprite. Happy Easter!
