Questing Beast was originally vanilla when it came out, but it gains text every time you read it.
Last time I read it, it had gained both suspend and mutate. I had to ask a judge how it worked. When I looked back after the judge ruling, it had gained “ward - pay X life where X is this creature’s power.”

Questing beast is always in a state of text-superposition. It both does, and does not, have any particular line of text so long as it is observed. Magic players are well renowned for their inability to observe the particular text on cards, so when a questing beast occurs in the wild, its effects are unpredictable. Foreign language copies of questing beast are a particularly nasty variant, as even if the magic player does bother to read the card, its contents are incomprehensible.
Mine says I win the game on cast.

Everytime we read Questing Beast, there's always a new ability
I was expecting like 5 cut backs to "Wait Questing Beast does WHAT?"

@@filippodardi2180 I tried to think of another funny ability, and "can't be blocked by elves" crossed my mind. But then I realized I forgot some of the text on that card, and that it already kind of have that ability. It's not Magic, it's some dark sorcery.

I tried to go over Questing Beast's abilities in my head, and I honestly forgot it had Vigilance. This is way too true.

@@kingofrunescapepking it does indeed. My point, however, is that I hadn’t accounted for the difference between the alchemy version and the paper version.
Especially now with Alchemy Baldur's Gate it's even more true.
If anyone ever says 'your deck is too casual for this group' to me in real life I'm jumping across the table and eating their commander
i had that several times already, i like janky stuff and funny and weird cards that hardly see play, a lot of people like it but then there is the one or other guy who is like " dude you need more interactions, your deck is to weak, put more counter and removals in"
I find it so weird that someone would complain that (effectively) your deck is too weak. Like... isn't that kind of what you hope for?
I mean it's definitely one thing to give advice. But on the other hand, the one guy who proudly claims he maybe has 1 removal spell in his whole deck worries me. He says he probably didn't put a board wipe in because they're banned at his school play group.

@@TraeKryzer Don't you wanna play a fair game? If I just stomp someone while they do nothing, that isn't fun, so if someone overestimated their deck in Rule 0, that negatively effects my experience.
That's my commander's "gotcha" ability. This is a misprint but it's in the oracle text.

Everyone loves those creatures with "sneaky-reach" :D One of the, if not THE, most inconsistent mechanics in MtG. Giant gods with bows: Can't catch a bird. A tiny spider a human could step on: Sure, let me block Emrakul real quick.
Nothing bothers me more than when im flying down to end my pathetic enemy's life and a spider just decides to jump down my throat. "hol-hold on guys, i need a turn. coughs"

Ignore that i get deck ideas from him such as Mono White Door to Nothingness for EDH as seen from the name on a deck box from his Desperado parody ruclips.net/video/-0cJhi6ERbk/видео.html
I-i also made a mono Green Maze's End deck for EDH because green ramp can actually get non basic lands into the field ignore the fact that it is actually as fast as turn cycle 5 without slew of counter spells to stop the ramp as pretty much you have to focus the counter spells on the ramp. And a funny thing about competitive is while sure gimmick decks like that are very strong however you will more than likely never see them on the deck list database because they usually tend to be auto run decks that lack any form of interaction with the other players and even then if it does as there are literally counter spells in every color and stuff green can do such as artifact destruction it is not something they want to show around to new players to that power of format and give them an impression of "This is what cEDH is" granted with most of the decks being stax or combo that already is what the impression is.
The database does say it is not a list of meta decks but is more so a list to give players an idea on what to expect. Then suddenly you face a rogue cEDH deck and everyone on turn 2 loses to Phage, the Untouchable because someone built a entire deck around it. Though the most funny is someone animating Battle of Wits and killing everyone with it in a cEDH game
Before you ask cEDH do not use wish cards as it does not adheres to the rules of the game which cEDH players do so you have to make a deck that animates it if you want to win with Battle of Wits in EDH which there are cards that animates artifacts as creatures
MTG remy has a video about that.
I can always get the Asmorano-, but then I forget what's next until -naculdacar. That middle section is a doozy.

I just came back to MTG after 5 year hiatus and I'm pretty the most common thing out of my mouth is "wtf is that?". I swear all my old EDH decks are irrelevant now because there are just better versions of every card.
On the flip side though, I have a lot of cards from old EDH sets that are worth more than what I paid for the precon.
Nice last scene. A nod to the woes of MTG A not having enough emotes. Although playing HEX shards of fate TCG online and having a chat with villains and public channel and whispers did get a little nerd too ragey for me at times..
