great video. what are you using to capture data? I assume an OBDII device of some sort? I have one that is bluetooth. I am new to racerender but I just purchased a new GoPro HERO8. I am doing a track event in 2 weeks and want to be ready. So, to review, I should set up my Android phone with TrackAddict up and running and ready to capture from the OBDII device right? What about GPS? use the GoPro or TrackAddict? I will be testing this in a few days ahead of my track event. Thanks in advance for help with this! I want to try to keep this as simple as possible. The main thing I want to capture from a data perspective are things like speed, RPMs, etc.. and of course GPS data to show where I am on the track overlay map.
How did everything work out for you? I just bought a obdlink lx and I'm planning on just using my phone and trackaddict to capture video. Any tips and tricks or did you buy a gopro and is that a better option? I won't be taking my car to a track for 6 months or so, so I have plenty of time to learn about this stuff. Thanks
I created a custom digital gauge based on photo realistic picture of my gauge in the program race render. It wasn't easy, but the only technical skill required was photoshop, as I had to remove the dials.
Can you use two data sources? I have the GPS enabled on the GoPro for my motorcycle and am looking at GPS data logger that captures lean angle of the bike. Wondering if you could use both data sources at once and sync the two GPS positions to get the data logger to sync with the video easily.
Yeah you can have multiple sets of data. Just make sure you have some reference point for your lean data for the bike. So start the data log and wiggle the bike or something.
I have a million questions haha. I just bought a obd2 and when that shows up I'll download track addict and play around with it. Hopefully I can figure it. What are you using to pick up the audio?
Thanks for the walk through!
was it though?
Amazing, thanks for sharing
No problem. Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions for videos

How did you get the mustang speedo and tach overlay? I have an '05 and this would be sweet as hell...

@@SpectroRacingChannel very clever! I’ll have to look into that.
What file type works best in race render? Looking to get into karting and already do overlays for my cycling videos.

Ask away! I just was using a gopro. The newer gopros have a pretty good mic. You can also just use an external mic connected to the gopro
@Spectro Racing any way to connect an external mic to the rear of the car and record that audio through a phone using track addict?
