How high can it go?
Well we are not going to do that.
We are just going for a 120M flight over Clickbaitsville.
ruclips.net/video/gXYemGo4kg0/видео.html
This guy had the balls to go for it. Give his video some love!
500 metres, my friend did it with the same model and it went 500 metres. Probably too late.
Turned out to be a boring height video
lol, what a catchy title without actually getting into hights
Drone police would of been all over it 😉
Have to agree, why bother or why use that title?
The answer is that the software allows 500 meters and that the legal limit is 120 meters ASL. He said that, what more do you want?
@@Will-nn6ux Let's make a thumbnail of a Ferrari saying "HOW FAST CAN IT GO!" but mind the speed limit in the video. This is weak sauce.
If you wanna see idiots flying their Mini 2s into the clouds, it's not hard to find!
The 500m max height makes perfect sense, here in the US. Remember, that setting governs the height you can fly above the takeoff point. It doesn't represent the actual height AGL of the drone wherever it is at any given moment. When flying in the mountains, I fly my drone right up to that 500m / 1.640 ft height above the takeoff point all the time, as I fly the drone up the side of a mountain. And I'm never more than 150 feet AGL at any time as I do it.
In fact, I'm seriously considering getting an Autel Evo 2, because it has a max height of 800 m above the takeoff point. 500m just isn't adequate in too many situations when you're in the mountains.
It certainly is an amazing drone 👀
Well Even in Mini-2 you can fly more than 500m from take-off point, you just need to know how😉.
I.e- with NFZ certificate
People across the globe actually set a record for mini-2 which is as high as 1700Meter from take-off point.
Dude just hack it, no limits period
Clickbait! This is just a test at 120mtr, but not what is the maximum the Mini 2 can achieve. All advance announcements were therefore somewhat exaggerated. It now seems to be more about the quantity of the videos about the Mini 2, than about the quality. There is a video of the Mini 2 in the mountains and a test of the maximum height on the internet. Just looked up, it is a video of Sean Ozz and he comes to a height of 4000mtr - 13,000 feet. If I can give you a good tip: I can imagine that you would like to have a lot of views, but don't lose sight of the quality.
Is it 120m from mean sea level or from the altitude of the ground where you are standing ?
I've just got a Mavic mini for my first drone , I live in Bolton so urban but not as dense as like Manchester. I always loose signal I've got some parabolics but they don't seem to make a difference, what's the best height for reception in dense areas ? Can you not fly around urban areas without loosing signal ?
Very cool video. Nicely done and the end scene was really cool.
Thanks for sharing.. great bit of kit getting on fur 3 years old now mabey ? Out of interest how close could you legally fly up to the tower ?
🗼⬅️
can you go higher if the building is taller than 120M to go over the top?
Really enjoy your content. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much
New Mini 2 drone owner here (from the US) with a possible newbie question. Ive only flown my mini 2 a few times, but one thing I noticed is that when I get in up about 30 ft. or higher the drone will hold its horizontal position pretty well, but vertically it will climb about 5 feet and lower 5 feet. So if I got it up to 100 ft., it would go up and down between 95ft.-105ft without me touching the controls. Also, there was some wind those days but about 10-15 mph gusts at most. And I had the drone in Cinematic mode each time. Does that seem normal? Thanks and great video!
one thing to note that i have not heard anyone else mention in regards to RTH. if your RTH altitude is set higher than your maximum altitude, the drone will not respond when you engage RTH.
i was flying in an area that had a max altitude of 60m and so the drone could not get above that height. meanwhile i had my RTH height set to 80m. the app did not give any clues when i hit RTH, the drone just sat there and ignored it. once i realized what was happening i lowered my settings and tried again no problem. lucky for me it was not an emergency RTH or it would have been trouble!
Footage looks so smooth. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Mike
My thoughts on getting around the 120m rule, one loophole I think I've come across is, as you're not supposed to go more than 120m from the surface of the earth. So if your scaling up a mountain side, say no more than 20m from the ground but you're ascending vertically/diagonally up the mountainside and never go very high above ground level.
Looking at the CAA drone code that's how I read it.
However in towns is a different ball game with drone laws
*So you can fly higher than 120m if you try to?*
Awesome video and review! It was very helpful!Mavic mini 2 is the best small drone you can buy today!!Keep up the good work!!Thank you for sharing it with us!!😊🙏🙏👌
Thank you , it was a pleasure
@@DMProductions you are welcome!😊🙏
great video 👍 have you ever flown near the pleasure beach or is that where you can't fly, the pleasure beach would look good.
Soon :-)
I tought you will go to 500 meters. That beach and pier are giving GTA 5 vibe 😄
How come mine doesn't reach 150m? Is it because of the wind.
Im using the 150m default max altitude limit.
Missed this one till now somehow but great video!!! I just got to take my mini 2 up to just under 400' flying over a windy lake and it was amazingly stable - no issues at all.
Yes even at high altitude it’s a champ isn’t it !
@@DMProductions I just uploaded my Beaver Lake Sunsets footage where I got to fly in the 390's altitude for some of the shots: ruclips.net/video/_F_NVSj7qu0/видео.html

Isnt there a restriction due to blackpool airport?
loved that shot at the end!
Thanks 😊
I just reread and if the building is more than 105M you can fly 15 M over it I think it says?
Great shot of Blackpool tower did notice when you turned the drone around the horizon was dead straight and then did seem to be off a bit, do you agree or is it my eyes, this is what my mini 2 seems to do.
Lovely shots and great flying...

Looks like you took off there near Coop St. Mum ran a boarding house 1970-75 where I grew up.
Small world!
Haha nice one it certainly is !
What software do you use to edit your photos, and would it be easy to use as a beginner?
Photos I use luminar4 for raw photos and Lightroom / photoshop for thumbnails
Canada here, for sub-250gs there is no max height limit as long as you are doing it safely. 150m in uncontrolled areas and 50m in controlled areas are recommended, especially in areas where there is significant air traffic (or better, just avoid entirely).
Thank you that’s interesting to know :-)
Aye... I'm in Canada as well, and really appreciate that the app informs you if there is any air traffic in the area. I popped up to 500m once, as a test, after reviewing wind and air traffic patterns. At 499 I got a blast of wind that took it up to 510, and decided it's definitely not going to happen often. :)
Brilliant footage! Went to the Winter Gardens a couple of years or so ago... absolutely poured down 😂😂
Haha common theme that ! Who would make tech and drone videos in the uk .... eerrrrrrr
@@DMProductions keep them coming lol. I’m a newbie so really appreciate your stuff 👍🏻. Just haven’t been able to fly much since I bought my mini 2 due to lockdown (living in the middle of a city) and weather!
Another great video.
When you zoom in do you use fingers to pinch and pull the screen? If so, you know you can do it without touching the screen right. Combination of giimbal wheel and the fn button 👍🏻
Keep the videos coming. Love them
Yeh I use fn button
@@DMProductions cool. Sorry, I hope I didn't cover across as a know all, I'm not, far from it. I've just got into drones myself. SORRY
Yeah it says that in the manual..fn button and wheel...only fn it has..but thanks for the not needed info
Fantastic mate....I just bought a Mini 2 and love it. Are you allowed to fly around city / residential areas in the UK?...I live in Oz and we are allowed to fly max 400ft...
Yes under 250g, over more restrictions// thanks for watching
@@DMProductions no mate he is lying, your not allowed to fly round the citys and residential area unless there is no people outside..... anymore than about 10 people comes under a crowd, we are fucked in the uk for stupid laws..... but we break them every day.
😋Very Good review👍👍
Hey pal, we’re you from? Must be up north , I’m from Widnes
Enjoyed your footage again, nice work....I often fly over 100 metres altitude over suburban areas. At this altitude you get clear of the 2.4g WiFi noise floor...What resolution do you upload to U Tube in?...It's always seems to be free of u Tube butchery...?..🤔🤔🤔😯🇬🇧
Thanks for watching and the nice feedback. I export in the highest settings , this video was 4K 30fps timeline and then uploaded as a 4K file. For updates and tutorials I’ll do 1080p but for landscapes etc I’ll do 4K
@@DMProductions I thought so, I bet you also have an epic upload speed on your ISP too....lol ..🤔🤔😀😀🇬🇧

I'm from Brazil, and here we don't have any rules related to maximum flight height, specially in the countryside. I already tested my Mini 2 Max height and it reached 500m without any problem or signal drops! If you want to see the video please send me a message and I'll upload it for you!

Weird question in all but Where I am is 170m from sea level, just wondering if that’s considered quite high up in general?
each country has different laws dude so check that, hear its 120m from the ground
How do you take a JPEG and a raw, does it do it automatically on two presses of the shutter ?
Setting changes to JPEG and raw together
@@DMProductions Thanks Darren ✌🏻❤️
So are we saying the 120m max is above sea level only? What if you climb a hill and are up at 900m. Can’t you put the mini 2 up 30m a do a nice parallax shot ?
Depends on the country but in uk since 2021 it’s 120m from the earths surface and states you have to adjust your flight path so it’s never more than 120.. again each country is different. I would just be careful especially flying at height
I thought it was 150m max in an altitude zone, which that area around the tower is, but out of an altitude zone the max was 500m?
Nope in the uk it’s 120m Max regardless of where you are or the altitude zone without permission
America here. Legal height here is 400ft AGL. But you can go up to 400 feet above the highest obstacle as long as you're within a 400ft radius of the object you're flying over. So if you're inspecting a 1,000 foot tower, you can fly up to 1,400 feet AGL as long as you stay within 400 feet of the tower. Hope that makes sense. Of course, you have to consider airspace classes as well.
I’m going to make sure I make use of that , America trips planned soon as you let us guys back in and drones are coming !
Nice video quality
I took my Mini 2 up to 90m and made the mistake of looking up to see it. I was horrified to see that it was just a dot in the sky so I lost my nerve and brought it down. I haven't had the guts to take it that high again but your video might just inspire me to try it again. This time I won't look up to see where it is..
Thanks for sharing this info. I have the Evo1, but looking at the Mini2 as a second drone for portability. My only concern is I have a Android Samsung Galaxy S8. Although they say it's comparable. I have seen some that says it works and some say app cuts out. Guess I will have to check out Best Buy's return policy if any problems. Some say the app loaded fine, but drone wouldn't take off. Anyone have tried with a Samsung Galaxy?
It works fine but the only issue is android / DJI seems to be slower with firmware and app updates but aside from that it’s a great choice
@@DMProductions thanks for the reply TDF
I have a S8 and a M2. Works fine. No issues at all.
Can you circle the tower with zoom and get brilliant parallax shot
Sure I can 😊
I’m just a novice I get quite nervous flying and I don’t do video as it seems really jerky I just got this mini 2 I usually just take it up take photos
But would learn to fly without any jerky movements I go to Blackpool quite frequently have managed to get some really good photos
Although I would also love to start using video
How bout a mini 2 live stream from the drone👍👍
Just an idea
Hey buddy, some nice footage there so well done. Im in Cambridge.
We love Cambridge was there last summer lovely city
@@DMProductions been very quiet of late as you can imagine.
I can, look forward to get back
Great images there mate. The best drone for money. You really get value for money with this drone. I am flying above eighty metres so that people don't notice it when I fly over their houses and also for security purposes when my VLOS becomes extended. You could hit a building behind trees.
Nice one enjoy the drone, thanks for watching
@@DMProductions As always. Do you intend to test the Yagis range extenders on Mini 2 one of these days?
Yeah used them before , currently I wouldn’t use them on the mini 2 it doesn’t really need them
Great video again. I was just wondering if you could do a video of telling us how to get the authorization and how to used the geo fence on map as it so confusing. No problem if not. Thanks

Liked and subbed!
Hey thank you
Just wandering how you were able to make the picture so vivid.
I use my own luts during colour grading
Can you please explain what that means. I’m thinking about getting this drone but wandering how to get sick good camera quality
In America they’re allowed to fly over the top of any high object. So for example. If it’s 150m they can go 160ish providing they’re close to that object. Do you know if that’s the case here.
If you lost connection behind that the mini 2 would just crash into it.
Here it’s 120m max height , some areas less if in restricted areas .
If I flown other side of the tower which I have few before I just switch to hover if loss signal
@@DMProductions I see mate. Seems daft though right. No aircraft would be skimming the top of that.
I watched a Ken heron video on it.
I want to do spinnaker tower in Portsmouth but worried about connection as it’s higher than 120. I think for safety you should be allowed to set RTH 5 metres above the building providing your filming that building if you get me.
Great video mate. Always enjoy them and you have a great voice for your videos.
Thanks appreciate it , that would be a good feature I’m sure a lot of drones were crashed with the rth especially on drones not having obstacle avoidance
Awesome 👌 thanks
Thanks glad you enjoyed :-))
@@DMProductions yep ive had the mavic 2 for couple months done a bit of footage but waiting for lockdown to lift!! Then ill get full effect of it. Have you had issues with signal in built up areas when buildings are in the way?
@@N.P.DETAILINGUK Mavic 2 , nice ! Erm if the building comes completely between the drone and you it can but depends how close you are, the signal is pretty solid but I’ll be doing something on this in a couple of weeks so should hopefully explain bit better than I’m trying to here lol
I think you are allowed to get higher in proximity to buildings higher than 120m
pretty sure you can and to be with in 50 meters?
Do you need a registration license
It should be able to go to around 2-3Km based on percentage used to climb to 120m. 4% 120m so 25 x 120 =3000m
Exactly it’s more than capable
does updating the drone make it limit your height ?
it still has sliders depends on the country restrictions
iv been seeing people lately flying at over 2000m how is this possible?
It’s possible but it’s also possible to hit a airbus a320 and get a jail sentence
I believe the answer is around 3km. That is to say the drone can take off at that height, not that it can fly up to that height. Obviously 120m (400ft) is the maximum height it should fly above the ground but theoretically it could fly at around 3km above sea level.
No doubt the DJI Mini 2 can fly that high, it’s my guts and confidence that I have doubts with. LOL
Don't worry, I was like that when I first got mine. Now I regularly fly it up to 120m with no issues whatsoever, it's capable of much more than that. I also fly it out to 500m over sea etc. Still get nervy in the rare times the signal drops, but it always flies back to me.
What I love in the USA, is I'd be able to fly over and get a beatiful top down photo.
I’m on way !
I live in Oz mate and we are allowed to fly to a maximum of 400 ft.
400ft is 120m
Amazing video man, the tower look so cool, closed to 400 feet nice man. 😎
Thanks so much
I flew at 500m the very first day both with the mini 1 and the 2 but mini 2 is way more stable
Should stand on a nearby hotel roof and get above the Blackpool tower 😉
i have a feeling the mini 2 can go very high, i never do that with mine tho :P , scary to think that all the ocusync 2 drone models could get in a planes way
Exactly so not worth it
do you know much about planes ? like how much wind they actually push away from them when flying ? have yo useen a pidgeon get smashed to bits by a plane and not a thing even noticed. ? do you think a mini2 could smasha windscreen on your car ? get a life.

i did the tower on my min1 or mavic 2 cant remember. just orded my mini 2 planning on taking 1st flight @ stanly park wanna join me give me a few tips?? always scared taking it o far
Why would an aircraft fly below 500 meters? I agree to keep your drone below the legal minimum aircraft height allowed unless taking off or landing. Unless I gave incorrect numbers, I think the typical minimum height allowed for aircraft is 500 feet, which is about 150 meters. So 120 meters is definitely a safe max height. If a commercial jet flew that low, people on the ground would think it was about to crash. My big question is what is the danger of a drone that weighs 250 grams hitting any aircraft? There would be zero damage unless it was sucked in to a jet engine, but it's the same for birds. I never got that they haven't figured out how to shield jet engine intakes from flying objects of any kind. I was on a flight that sucked in a bird during take off. It sounded like a canon, but didn't effect the flight. I guess it's a flock of birds that is an issue or a flock of mini drones. I don't see much reason to fly higher than 120 meters unless you want to see what's going on in the clouds or if there is a Heaven.
Does drone insurance cover being sucked in to a jet engine? Have fun.
Have you heard that planes do approach airports at under 400 feet.
@@DMProductions notice that I immediately excluded take off and landing in my comment. Of course they approach at under 400 feet because they are landing. They actually approach at 1 foot just before touching down. Obviously, I am concerned with minimum altitude OTHER THAN FINAL APPROACHES OF TAKE OFF AND LANDING PATTERNS . Airports have definite paths for both. Planes do not take off from airports in random patterns. They follow runways. We should stay away from airports in general all the time but be especially diligent with the paths of landings and take offs. What I said is obvious. As long as we stay far enough away from all airports, we are safe at under approx.120 meters or approximately.375 feet. We must be careful because 100 meters is a lot higher than we think. It's a good idea, I think to think in meters and realize how high that actually is by finding a structure that is that high
God damnit, it actually is capped at 500m. You think it is ridiculous? I think it is ridiculous that they have a limit at all. 500m is nothing, what if i am in the middle of nowhere around some mountains and want to take a shot from above? I was pretty sure the limit was there just for safety and can be set to "no limit" at max, and i just checked my mini 2 and it's 500m. What a disappointment, i was flyin my phantom 1 at 1 - 2 km up, some years ago. I think mini can handle it in a calm weather, why the heck would they cap it at such a low altitude.
Belting vid again mate
Thanks 🙏

well you did not do the test at all. you just went to max heigh allowed in uk that you presume is the law..... well what if i go to top of Blackpool tower and then use my drone and go only DIRECTLY above it. how high do you then think i can fly ? or are you thinking i cannot fly from Blackpool tower. ? . i.e does the STRUCTURE count as ground when flying ? look up the laws before answering or might look like you dont realy know the real laws..
highly disappointing.. thought you would've cracked the software. the standard 500m are absolutely no problem at all. with the Mini2 its actually ok, but not impressive. with my M2P only beeing able to reach 500m on the other hand is way too less. sadly mine allready came with anti rollback on, so i guess i've got to deal with it..

I’m in the US, so at minimum 400ft. That’s the limit here
That’s the legal limit in the UK as well without submitting an OSC to the CAA and having a specific exemption.
It is about what height it is capable and not about what is allowed.
