The TAI - AgustaWestland T129 ATAK is a twin-engine, tandem seat, multi-role, all-weather attack helicopter based on the Agusta A129 Mangusta platform.
The ATAK programme was begun to meet the Turkish Armed Forces' requirements for an attack and tactical reconnaissance helicopter. The T129 is the result of the integration of Turkish-developed avionics, airframe modifications, and weapon systems onto the Agusta Westland A129 airframe, with upgraded engines, transmission and rotor blades. It is in use by the Turkish Army and other services including the Turkish Gendarmerie
Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) was proposed to meet IAF’s requirement of a dedicated light helicopter for combat operations. LCH has maximum possible commonality with ALH. LCH with a narrow fuselage has pilot and co-pilot/gunner in tandem configuration incorporating a number of stealth features, Armour protection, Night attack capability and crash worthy landing gear for better survivability.

Indian air Force placed order of 65 unit and Indian army placed 114 unit too, it's mainly design for high altitude war as well as desert.
LCH is a light gunship which was designed mainly for ops in the Himalayas...hence it's high altitude ceiling and higher speed.
For anti-tank warfare in the deserts or plains, we have the Apache.
So if your LCHs are so high, why are you begging the Americans to buy an American helicopter..???

LCH at present Avatar is designed for India Specific Requirement specially high Altitude Application. Electronic Warfare Suites and other Electronic Warfare facilities are World Class. Like Tezas, LCH will be most sought after Helicopter Gunship. It is just matter of Time.

I know that the T129 Helicopter is built to NATO standards and has been proven in combat in multiple occasions. Usually the European and US helicopters in this class cost around $60mil - $80mil and the T129 is around $50mil, a bit cheaper, but has same engines, avionics as the others. When I saw the price tag of the Indian LCA helicopter I was shocked, let's hope it will be dependable and perform well in combat!

Features-wise, the two helicopters seem to be more-or-less the same, and the LCH costs a third of the other! Hence, LCH is obviously a clear winner - by far - here. Hats off to the Indian engineers and scientists for achieving this.
In general, this is true of all the LATEST Indian defense equipment. They seem to be roughly equal to comparable Western equipment in features, while costing around a third (sometimes less).
The only problem seems to be that aggression is somewhat lacking in the Indian marketing campaign.
India should start promoting its products aggressively as THE BEST in the world on a features-and-quality-for-price basis.
While not yet watching the video, from reading the comments. "That's too good to be true" here's the question, what's the quality? material? technology? feature s might be the same, but how are they effective?

T129 is 3 times costlier than LCH. The advantages considering the triple cost is negligible. This is a deal breaker. I would go for LCH with heavier payload, service ceiling and crash survivability.

because T129 ATAK builted on Italian A129 Mangusta light weight scout helicopter chassis because of that T129 is a smaller than it's predecessor helicopters it's a serious disadvantage and serious problem... But congrats to TAI (Turkish Aero Space) engineers they built a strong, reliable and usefull Mid-weight attack helicopter. I have no idea about Indian helicopter but i can say like these military we should't judge based on theoretical knowledge because in theorically Chinese Z10 heli is hevier and stronger than T129 but Z10 has very serious problems for example: in high altitude flights Z10 has a durability problem and it's a very serious problem because of that Pakistani government didn't want Z10 they want it T129 but Pakistant couldn't reisist Chinese economic influence and they had to buy Z10.
T129 is a small helicopter just because of this T129's cannon is under the thermal camera and when cannon start fire camera was shaking, Aselsan worked hard for solve the shake problem

But, studying a lot lately the LCH and seeing the technologies, the capabilities I found very interesting. 💪🏻👏🏻 I saw that LCH has a lot of SAAB technology 👏🏻🏆, and we know that SAAB does everything with the HIGHEST reliability and technology 💪🏻👏🏻 and its price compared to others makes it even more favorite. It really makes anyone interested!

I dont know if this was mentioned - LCH is furnished with a glass cockpit which accommodates an Integrated Avionics and Display System (IADS) which used an array of multifunction displays in conjunction with the onboard target acquisition and designation (TADS) system. A prominent element of the TADS system is the helmet mounted sight (HMS), which serves as the principal instrument for targeting and triggering the rotorcraft's armaments. The LCH is protected via an extensive electronic warfare suite which is provided by the South African division of Saab Group; this suite comprises various defensive elements to guard against several different threats, these include a radar warning receiver (RWR), laser warning receiver (LWR) and a missile approach warning (MAW) system.

Lch is amazing. T129 is a bit oudated and a bit expensive but the t129 has already proven itself through numerous battles, so i’d go with the t129 for now. Lch needs to prove itself more.

Both the helicopters are good and suitable for their respective geographical condition. As far as LCH is concerned it is specifically made for high altitude regions for Mountain Warfare in the Himalayas, that's why it has the highest service ceiling amongst all attack helicopters in the world, and for the desert of Rajasthan. So, it will operate in conditions having temperatures from -40 to +50 degree celsius. Both IN & TR are doing well in their respective defence R&D, and have a bright future. As far as export potential is concerned it largely depends on the diplomatic and soft power of the country. Thanks.
I do not understand why India chose Turkey as a competitor in its defense industry projects. India and Turkey have different defense needs and understandings. Turkey is a NATO country in a geography full of 1st class enemies. India is a third world country. Why do you constantly compare these two countries with very different defense needs? Engineers and military experts from both countries are trying to do what is best for them. Everything is so clear.

T129 is indigenous that it cant produce by itself for international market.... Hope experience person will get proper answers from here..... LCH is built for high altitude 5000ft+ such as Siachen(highest battlefield on this planet) , kargil and Ladakh ...
Where as Turkish one is NATO standard Attack helicopter for normal combat.
T129 can easily outwork LCH in normal combat but at high altitude LCH can take down even Apache...

Lch was created for kargil and Siachen.
The Indian government has started with the production and procurement of military weapons in India over the last 5-10 years. LCH and LCA are the very first projects.. just wait for 10 more years and you will see Indians exporting these... I agree that both LCH and LCA will see improvements both in terms of Design and Technology as they receive the feedback... The Indian defense industry is 15-20 years behind when compared to countries like US as the private investments were not allowed back in 1990's.. Everything changed with the start of 21st Century.. The Indian companies are just learning to walk...soon they will start to run.... we did it in IT industry, we sure can do in Defense industry..

One thing on T-129 ATAK steps more forward than anything else.
İt's COMBAT PROVEN. At the same time it has been upgraded twice already (LCH will definetly be upgraded after Army requirements based on experience). The difference between the first and 90th ATAK is huge.
Mangusta is perfect for anti tank ops in the plains.
It won't survive in the Himalayas where gusts of winds end up knocking fully loaded c-130j's into the mountainside.

Meanwhile ATAK is not the Mangusta itself as it shares only the base platform. All other (more powerful engines from LTHEC, avionics, RWR, LWR, eletronic survivability systems from turkish ASELSAN and HAVELSAN etc.) are different from the original.

Both helicopters are state of the art vehicles. The T-129's design is actually pretty outdated, but Turkey still wanted to use it (Agusta-Westland's A129 Mangusta's design) because of the urgent need of attack choppers since Turkey is conducting many counter-terrorism operations both in and outside of its borders (Syria, Iraq). I think that's why they did not be able to put that much work into it. And the second thing is, TAI has already began the developments of T-629 and T-929. T-129 ATAK is lightweight, T-629 is mid-size and T-929(nicknamed ATAK 2) is an heavy chopper. Also they're designing T-629 as a electric-unmanned variant and classic-style manned variant. T-629 still has a long way to go, but T-929 will make it's first flight in 2023.

Atak is combat proven and is being used almost 10 years by a NATO member country. I think the cost prices are also wrong. That is not possible that much price difference.m between two coppers. Hal LCH Servis ceiling 20000-21300 feet (6096-6500 meters) or with high occupancy task loaded Servis ceiling 3048-3657 meters. they are almost the same. But the T129 Atak is a much more agile helicopter. Also smaller.
Climb rate, range, speed etc... are minor properties. What makes a helicopter superior is avionics, sensors, munitions, how accurate to shoot on target, radars, night vision and thermal cameras in dark operations and how pilot feel confortable in helicopter during combat like whole control is accesable, fast and accuarate to use. how the integrated systems are compatible.
All that you mentioned doesnt matter a bit when you can't reach the battlefield in the first place. i.e. The Himalayas.
Imagine the enemy having attack helicopters and all you have is ground troops. Plus LCH is just introduced. Its upgrades will make it far more lethal than the one you are preaching so much. get some braincells.
All these you mention are secondary situational add ons. You don't require thermal cameras and night vision if you plan it to use only during the day.

India must have sold these choppers to many different countries till today. But, it did not happen. I dont think that the price comparison is done on equal terms. That much diffrerence does not seem realistic.
Yet, it is true that there are significant price differences, even if you buy a car, relying on the manufacturer company. If you buy a German or USA made engine, engine itself may be more expensive than the whole car of another brand. T129 has NATO parts and proven qualifications in addition to attractive design in shape. Well, as a Turk my views have a bias. Nevertheless, this much price diffrence needs an explanation from an expert in the field.

I'm not going to side with any country here cause both helicopters are build for different purpose. LCH of india is made for light combat and weights pretty light too cause india needed a combat capable helicopter to fight in low oxygen and mountain region like kargil,siachel,ladakh. india also have world class helicopters like Apache and mi-24 but the problem with them that they can't fight in cold and mountain region and most of the time they are useless like in kargil war 1999 indian when army had huge problem with mi-24 heavy combat helicopter so they had to used a modified verison of transport helicopters and LCH is also the world's only helicopter that can fight in siachen which world's highest battlefield while T 129 is better in plain and desert areas.
