In February, images of the Turkish 5th generation fighter appeared as the prototype plane was seen taxiing, under its own power. Turkey has been pumping into its aerospace sector in last few decades, it’s evident turkey is planning to break into top 5 countries when it comes to combat aircraft technology. This video explores the TFX fighter.

It is funny watching people from US complaining about this like they didnt steal tech from Germans in ww2, blaming the channel being pro-Russian just because it brought this up(wtf?). Turkey is one of the unique countries to both have the industrial base, the manufacturing expertise and experience and the human capital to pull off a project like this. They've been making F16s for more than 30 years now, their companies were the highest quality providers for key parts of F35 and their Radar and electronic systems tech from the company Aselsan is world-renowned among defense contractors. I think they will surprise people who don't know much about them and hence assume they will not achieve what they claim.

Ofc a nation with the resources to do so would try to develop a modern airforce. Go ahead excuse the F4 being in the turkish airforce. They wouldn’t if it had a use. The think being old doesnt mean it will be very bad. In that case whys the b52, A10 in service at the usa and the mig 25 and 30 in service at russia? For both russia and the us they have reasons to use the old aircraft. So turkey also likely has a reason as they wouldn’t keep it in service for no reason. The nation is quickly turning into a superpower. Go ahead say somethink back that is actualy correct and not a dumb statement with detail and other stuff to make it look right. Oh yeah the haters likely forgot about the UAV sucesses of Turkey & the fact that they are quickly developing & modernizing. • @darkprofile
    @darkprofile Год назад +20

Why does this plane looks like f22?
Because low radar cross section aircraft desings should be similar to each other.
There are several delta wing aircraft designs but the lowest radar cross sections on delta wing designs are diamond and lambda design.
Diamond design is used as cropped diamond delta wing design for better maneuverability. It has second lowest radar cross section in delta wind designs but cropped diamond geometry gives very high maneuverability. Multi role or fighter jets are using this design geometry. F22, f35, tfx or su57 they all use variations of this design. But if you look at the planes from sides or front you would see similar geometry.
Lowest radar section on delta wing designs is LAMBDA design. It is also called flying wing form. It is most stealthy design in geometry but it has very low maneuverability. But this flying wing form geometry makes the aircraft carry more payload. So this lambda design is used in stealth bombers which doesnt need much maneuverability. f117, X-47B(drone), Turkish Anka-3(drone) are using this lambda design.
So it is very normal that stealth planes look like each other because they have to stick with similar geometry and on engineering they use similar solutions.

  • @RobertsDigital
    @RobertsDigital Год назад +26

    Congratulations Turkey.
Some countries dont even have a stealth aircraft.
Other's have to rely on the US to build and supply for them.
Some can't even build an ordinary bicycle.
But you have not only built your own fighter jet but a stealth one.
People who make fun of other people who attempt to create something never realize that those who are attempting will one day become the masters of that thing they're attempting to create. That's how they laughed at China.
There are also other hard working countries out there who are catching up with The US, China and Russia in making their own stealth fighter Jets.
Japan, Korea, Italy, Iran, Germany, France, Sweden, India and The UK are also working hard to build their variants.
I never underestiamte countries who learn to build stuff by themselves even with their trial and errors. Because they will eventually get there.
The worst part are those countries who dont even attempt to build anything at all.

The only thing Turkey hasn't mastered yet is large kamikaze drones (not counting smaller STM Kargu or Alpagu) which Iran has been the leader of but Turkey is developing them too and in a few years will be ready.

Turks are affordable car maker, ship maker, home appliences maker for Europe. Now, they decided to be helicopter and aircraft maker. Up to now, it has seemed going well for helicopters and a training jet.
They have produced more than 250 pc of F16s in Türkiye under the licence of USA. So they know how to build an aircraft and its private high tech companies have expertise in avionics.
Within a decade, they can have their own 5th gen jet plane. If they became succesfull, performance would be in NATO standards and performance-price index would be highly compatitive in the market.
For the main missing technology such as building a jet engine, I think they will find a proper partner within NATO countries. It seems UK has more potential to get the stake in Turkish defence market by comparison to other alternatives.

With KAAN, the radar footprint is aimed to be 0.01% m2 in the first block and 0.003% m2 thereafter. For comparison purposes; In F16s, this trace is 4% m2. Eurofighter 1.5% m2. Rafale 1% m2. F35 0.003% m2. F22 0.001% m2. I don't know about the Russians and Chinese as there is no information from open sources. But I can say that the Russians are a disaster in this regard. I think the Chinese are much better.
The most important priority in Turkey is independence. We have acted together with the USA for 50 years and established one of the most effective air forces in the world, but we have seen that as a result, the person who gave the weapons begins to interfere with every decision you make. For Türkiye, the KAAN project is, in a sense, an independent war. If we can succeed (and we are progressing incredibly well so far), and if we can achieve what we want in engine electronic warfare and sensor technologies, we will be promoted to the champions league. In other words, it is a country that is self-sufficient and can make independent decisions. All our efforts are for this.

The first planes will fly with 2 F16 engines when the tests start. later these engines will be replaced by more powerful Turkish engines. Turks follow the same method on every plane. they use stable engines that have worked millions of hours before for the tests. then they replace it with their own engine. The software, ammunition and all other components of this warplane will be Turkish. Even the training planes of the pilots who will be trained to use this plane are ready (Hürkuş and Hurjet). radar systems and ammunition are ready. Many important components are ready. I think the Turks can make this plane before 2030 and it will be better than any 5th generation produced before it.

The F 22 was produced in 1980 with the technological possibilities of that period to meet the aviation needs. Most importantly, it was produced for the cold war doctrine.
The aviation paradigm is different now.
Tfx is a weather control station. together with himself, he will manage 10-15 unmanned aerial vehicles. It will transmit instant data to the ground control station. will have integrated warfare capabilities. It will use smart ammunition. will drive unmanned aerial vehicles to the enemy front in droves. so so.
Therefore, Tfx is a platform and this platform does not mean an aircraft by itself. What they can do with their sensors and radars is up to your imagination.

The factory and people who made this made +420 F16s in 20 years. They built the small jet HürJet and flew it. They built the propeller-driven HürKuş plane, flew it and sold it to 5 countries. They built and sold 150 "Anka" and "Aksungur" Male class combat drone, i.e. an unmanned aerial vehicle (UCAV). They built 140 "Atak" attack helicopters and sold them to 5 countries. They flew the delta wing Anka 3 unmanned aerial vehicle... Now they are making KAAn. And KAAN, rest assured, this is not the first jet they made. The 500th jet plane built by KAAN TAİ... I saw here that most people underestimate Turkey's fighter jet project and compare it to planes like the f22 - f35 and claim that it is a copy of those planes. All countries producing 5th generation warplanes in the world take the f22 Raptor design as an example. If you look at the front photos of all the 5th generation produced in the world, you will see that it has a similar design to the f22 Raptor. If copying was in question, the USA would sue Turkey, object and would not allow it to be produced. It should not be forgotten that Turkey's scientists are people who have been educated and worked in countries such as America and Europe. Infrastructures such as production and test centers of the technologies produced today were prepared 21 years ago. This is a process that has been going on for 21 years. It would be wrong to compare the first aircraft prototype produced by Turkey with aircraft such as the F22. Kaan is a baby just beginning to crawl, and the f22 Raptor is like an adult human running and jumping over some somersaulting obstacles in mid-air. Kaan is an aircraft under development. You can compare these comments to comparing a baby to an adult, which is just a sign of stupidity. It should be noted that none of the air platforms produced by Turkey had an accident or showed any signs of error. From this it can be concluded how successful Turkey is. In addition, the nation you despise established 16 empires, each more powerful than the other, and brought China and all of Europe to their knees with these empires. While the Turks were living the Iron Age in Central Asia, Europe was experiencing the Stone Age. I have a few words to say to the Greeks who crossed their borders. While we were ruling 3 continents, the governors we appointed were governing you. You don't even deserve to be the last person to belittle Turkey. You are a country that imports even the bullets of the gun you use and you are the spoiled child of Europe. Like you, Armenia was also angering Azerbaijan by relying on Russia. When Azerbaijan rained bombs on the Armenians, the Armenians fled from their positions crying without looking back. 2. Learn from the Karabakh war.

For a country like Turkiye it is huge to make their own jets, thats crazy how they made it. Bravo Turkiye. People are comparing it with f22 and f35, if they do that, it means it is worth of camparing.

    • @buddy1155

Why? Sweden makes their own jets with 1/8 of the population.
Why is it good if your plane that haven't flown yet is being compared with the F22 that will retire in 2030. It only means that the technology is outdated.
There are currently six different 6th generation fighters under developed, by:
      - japan/uk/ Italy
      - France/Germany/Spain
      - US

I hope they have export partners in mind. It's difficult to produce aircraft efficiently when you don't have exports. I mean, the video makes comparisons to the SU57, but there's only 10 of them in service. So, it will be interesting to see if they get any contracts to produce more for export to make the production of the plane viable.

Turkey is coming from an empire. Turkey has big influence on middle east, central asia, balkans, caucasus, north africa and south asia.
If Turkey succesfull finish this project, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Tunusia, Bangladesh, Qatar, Kazakhistan, Turkmenistan and many other countries will be willing to buy it.
Look at to whom Turkey sold drones, they are also the potential customers for any valuable weapons from Turkey.
Even Ukraine would buy them in the first place.
