I don't think this is at all a realistic or attainable lifestyle, they are very wealthy and are lucky to be able to work from home/choose their schedules giving them the time they need for their family. It's great for them, but I would not use them as an example. Please be realistic and don't go having a family if you do not have the time/money/support.

I really like the concept of play groups… in Germany at my hometown we call it Krabbelgruppe (krabbeln means crawling). In the group at my town I was in as a small child, it was mainly about the children being able to play supervised and the parents exchanging ideas and having a break. There were also many mothers who were single parents and who didn't have that much support at home either. So it was a very good and helpful concept. Especially for people who have not sent their children to kindergarten so early.

We have this as well in Denmark! We call it something a little bit different but it's essentially single parents or couples meeting up with their children. The children will be around the same age and it's usually like 4-7 kids, but then most of them have older siblings as well and they join too. It's a great way to meet other parents and to not feel so alone!

    • @3lmodfz

We have playgroups in the UK too. I went to one as a very young child, they are mostly for kids under the age of 4/5yrs as at that point they would be starting infant school. I remember very little from my time there, except one memory of a boy taking the scooter or something I was playing with...that's about it lol.

This is lovely, u r doing great with the language division, I speak to my kids in Spanish, whe their dad was here he use to speak to them in Chinese, he left years ago but, I continue teaching them Spanish and a what I can of Chinese, mostly the writing part as my pronunciation isn't good and I don't want to teach them wrong, outside they use italian as we live in Italy and it's hard sometimes but it help them to learn both languages so no problem 👌
This year, as always, we celebrated also the chinese new year, I wish I could take them to China for this holiday, as here it's so different and myself, being alone, I find it difficult to make more, so I just make what I can, we prepare jaozi, we make noodles, we buy lot of fruits, the "lucky ones", we make paper craft, hand made decorations and J prepare the hongbao.
This year, as soon as Christmas ended, they were asking about the lunar new year, they were so excited for it as they were for Christmas, I love to show and teach them about my hometown and their dad's one, I remind them about their multicultural heritage as something precious, they can taste a bit of everything, this involves also the Italian culture too as I grew up here and they were born here and, we live here too, so they have more. I would love if their dad would put the effort Tom shows to u guys, that's lovely .

Taylor speak as many languages as possible with your baby boy! 🥰 I was born and raised in Italy (and still live in Italy) but my whole family is Srilankan (from Sri Lanka) and since always my parents talked to me both in English, in Sinhala (the language talked in Sri Lanka) and Italian, plus I was always surrounded by Italians and I went to school in Italy, my first language is Italian. I'm trilingual and very proud of it 😄 (I do understand french and a bit of german because I studied them in school. Even if Levi might tend to one language keep on talking in every language possible and sometimes insist (my parents did with english and sinhala even when I sometimes didn't want to speak in those languages because I felt like I was not good). Because I was surrounded by so many languages I started talking very late (after I was 3 years old) and the pediatrician told my parents that that was very normal in multicoltural households 😄 HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU GUYS!!🥰

Don’t throw out your orchid after new year!
For most orchid species, ideal growing conditions follow exposure to fairly warm temp (tropical epiphytes), high humidity, and indirect sunlight for the majority of the day. I usually water my indoor babies once every 2 weeks in winter (supplement with grow light to encourage continuous blooms) and once a week (or more depending on temp and whether I transition them to being outdoors) in summer. Also work in a period of gradual exposure (usually a week or so trending to greater exposure) when/if transitioning to different external conditions/pressures. Remember, orchids don’t like their feet wet. If you repot or split a plant, make sure you get a pot that just fits (or is slightly smaller than the size of the root ball, no bigger). There are many growing medium mixes available, but the mix I’ve had the most success with is 2/3 conifer bark, 1/3 perlite, and 1/3 extrusive igneous rock (pumice or basalt). Compost tea is an excellent amendment to start as spring approaches.
    Hope this helps. Happy gardening!

Taylor said it was a quiet time, but it looked so bright with so many people on the streets celebrating, shopping and visiting shrines. That line to get into the temple was SO long, wonder how many hours it took Tom to enter!

Taylor, you and Tom are a wonderful team and Levi is very lucky that he will grow up with two cultures and languages. I really love it when you show these aspects of life in Hong Kong, it's always so interesting.
We went to a playgroup when we lived in England for a short time - our older son was 4 and at school and our younger son was still a toddler. He was so shy, but he really benefited from the playgroup, and I made a great friend that I am still in touch with today, over 25 years later! Happy New Year!
