It’s less of an “auto battle” than FF12 was, imo. If you enjoyed setting up gambits in FF12 (which it sounds like maybe you didn’t) this is very similar. The auto-battle aspect is only for the “micro” (I.e. actual engagements between units), you still have plenty of macro decisions to make on the battlefield.
@DietersYT I at least got to choose what spells and abilities my characters do during battle in FFXII. Gambits didn't do it all, at least not for me. The only thing that was really "auto" was your basic attack. So far I've only been walking up to enemies and moving character formations around so they don't get hit with piercing attacks from spears. I don't feel like I'm being engaged enough. 😕

Yeah, as I stated in my comment, if the game has nothing to say, has sharp writting, or at the very least is interesting with its theames, then I don't find much of a reason to spen 60 dollars and play this game for a ton of hours. Rather disappointed.
These people are obsessed with narrative and characters in strategy/tactical games is because the relationship mechanics are their sole source of romance. They have little relationship experience with actual women, so they seek parasocial relationships with a video game character, or 'waifu'. This is why 20+ year-old men fawn over characters and plot lines written at a 6th grade reading level.
Of course they're "bad" - they're written for teenagers. Video games use simple plot lines and A-to-B dialog intentionally. Try books, movies and plays if you want good stories with well written characters. Your complaint is like saying, "fast food tastes bad."

Fire Emblem Engage from 2023 is LEAGUES ahead of this game. And I am saying while fully acknowledging that Fire Emblem Engage had a fair share of problems
Honestly, Wargroove is probably better than this.
Gameplay of FE engage is better. But not the artstyle and story... Engage is fun but mega cringe
This game hate white straight males?
Why Vanillaware hates pc so much
very small company and they don't exactly sell millions like other top dog devs like Squeenix to warrant spending for a PC port that may or may not even sell as well. they cater to a niche market.
Too many games to buy, slow down please!!!!
Apparently the localization is pretty bad. It's not woke, but they basically shakespeared the script and extended it by 50%. In the process it changed or over-exaugurated some of the characters personalities. Disappointing to see.
That's not what I've heard
Guys, please use someone who actually plays the games to do the VO...
yea this whole voice over a written review is kinda weird, their reviews used to be very real and raw, and it seems like theyve gone the way of ign and lost their genuine thoughts of games and reviews and have relegated them to reading a pre written review "script" pretty sad as this channel used to be my GO TO for a real, honest, and non sponsored review team, but looks like theyve sold out as well.
This needs to come to PC

why does every game journalist have to sound like a pretentious gay guy now

remember the game's localization is terrible and is a big reason the narrative sucks
really its a skip if u don't know JP language its just butchered
biggest example is the style of speech, the characters speak normally not "old english" style
What no it not lol. Play the game and form your own opinion lol
Yeah, as I stated in my comment, if the game has nothing to say, has sharp writting, or at the very least is interesting with its theames, then I don't find much of a reason to spen 60 dollars and play this game for a ton of hours. Rather disappointed.
I was thinking that. I played the JP voice and they spoke modern Japanese
@@mikethepokemaster2012 The localization is terrible, follow your own advice. Or are you just a shill that likes to lie?
Sorry to hear it has a timer, deal breaker in any video game
Slow ass scrub. Git gud
8.5 ??? Shame on you noisy pixel . get some reviewers who can appreciate mechanical complexity..
Generous score tbh, this ain't no tactical ogre.
Deserves way lower for that localization

I'm sure this game isn't perfect, but to rate Triangle Strategy higher than this is criminal. Can't trust NP for SRPGs anymore.

Bad story and characters is a bummer...
Of course they're "bad" - they're written for teenagers. Video games use simple plot lines and A-to-B dialog intentionally. Try books, movies and plays if you want good stories with well written characters. Your complaint is like saying, "fast food tastes bad."
@@OhYeeeeaaahhhh What you are saying makes absolutly no sense... ;)
I wouldn’t say “bad”, more so just a bit bland.
I’m here for the gameplay anyways. If I want story, I’ll read a novel.
