Thanks for explaining this. I'm a bit annoyed because I bought this to do wifi and Bluetooth, but I don't have a spare Bluetooth connector on my motherboard. This makes it somewhat half of a feature in my opinion, requiring USB when there is a perfectly good PCIe connector *right there*.

    • @Sencires
      @Sencires 4 года назад +1

Multiple connection works fine, what doesn't work fine is WiFi and Bluetooth beeing used at the same time. If your router hasn't the right settings and your WiFi is working with the same 2,4GHz bandwith Bluetooth is using too, your speed will suffer. I always have my headset and PS4 controller connected via Bluetooth, but the WiFi speed slows down from 4-8MBps to under 1MBbs and also ping lag occurs. This is due to the hotspot (2,4GHz) I am using. On the router of my friend (5GHz) this problem doesn't show up. But never the less, it's really great. I had 4 devices connected at the same time with no problems.

This is unrelated to your video but I think you got your ram in the wrong slots so it's not using dual channel, unless you did that to make sure the CPU cooler didn't interfere but it looks like you have space to arrange them properly, hope this helped. Thanks for the tutorial.

Because the standard bluetooth interfaces are all USB-only as far as I know (the driver name for windows is BTHUSB), so this is a workaround to route the bluetooth controller via USB. Only custom motherboards (like laptop's) can allow for a direct connection of the network card in M2 A+E format via a single port.

I haven't used that in years so I'm not sure.

Hi, I am currently building an AMD Ryzen PC and bought this for my internet access. I have read in a few comments that it does/should work with AMD. On the gigabyte website the only drivers available are for Intel PCs. Just wondering whether they will work and if so which one to use? Thanks

I haven't tested this with an AMD board, only Intel. Do the non-Intel drivers at the bottom of the page work?

@@KevinMuldoon I haven't set it up yet. I was keeping it in its packaging in case I needed to return it. I'll give those a try and let you know how it goes.
Thanks heaps for the response :)

@@jamesnicol5659 I ended up swapping this model for a wifi 6 one as it was discounted to around the same price (also gigabyte branded). The wifi 6 model is similar with the intel chip and works perfectly not a problem since installation. I am pretty much certain that it will be the same with this model and the conclusion I came to before I returned it was, that it would work with no issues.
      Hope this helps :)

They are supposed to be in slots 2 and 4 to have duel channel memory

    • @KevinMuldoon

I now have all four slots populated, but at the time I placed then in 3,1, due to the motherboard design and the fact the heatsink is so big, making it difficult to insert the memory.
The manual says nothing against using placing memory in that order.
If you go back many years, before DDR was popular, you were advised to use 2,4 as a fallback (I believe that was the reason).
I don't believe modern motherboards care. Additionally, if I'm only putting two RAM sticks in, I'd rather they weren't next to a big heatsink.

Does it work on hackintosh ?

I haven't built a hackintosh myself so I can't say for sure. My guess is that support for things like this are limited.
