When they say 'I can get $75 for this on eBay' they're conveniently forgetting about taking the photo, writing the description, the 15% selling fees + possible store and promotional fees.... not to mention the drudgery of packing it up and queuing up at the post office. Face-to-face sales should be well below eBay prices.
Anyone telling people that they make $100K/yr profit on eBay and they only work 2 hrs a day (playing frisbee gold with the rest of their time), well do you think you should believe them?.......I have been reselling since these millennial "reseller" influencers were even teenagers.....I was on eBay in 1999.......I have been doing this for a long time and I know it takes massive dedication, massive amounts of time & effort and isn't what these confidence men and women would have you believe......eBay is glutted in categories because how many lazy wanna-be get-rich quick scammers believed these people and other influencers...........whatever......
@@user-iw9kd7bh4f these people make their money from RUclips channel not from selling on eBay. Even if you're selling full-time.
Exactly…thay can price them at $75…even after all that listing work r done…doesn’t mean it will sell or not…
Yeah, asking $75 is not the same as getting $75. @@6kingalex4
@@6kingalex4 I've had items I've sat on the price for three years. Eventually it sells.
I walk away from sellers who won't price their stuff ahead of time! They know how much they're going to ask for it, but are hoping for a sucker to pay a lot more. Wastes time and they lose sales by not being upfront, more than they gain.
I'm not a reseller, but I totally agree that if a person cannot be bothered to price their items, at least they should know what they're asking for them! Then, be ready to negotiate and have the lowest acceptable price in mind. When they start "hemming & around, I simply start walking away from them without saying a word. It's surprising how fast they come up with a price😅
I dunno if its suckers or if the vendor/ yard-sellers are still recovering from Covid restrictions and are just desperate for more human interaction?
Nah probably fishing for suckers.
Agree he should be more on the ball.
Yep buh byeee
its a waste of time to price. stuff. Just so somebody doesnt have to interact with humans. We sellers get so much stuff , forget about it. if you want what i have you will come back or not.
I can't stand it when people running garage sales say "it's going for this much " or say on eBay it's this much
My response would be “then why haven’t you listed it on eBay?” Frustrating!
Why they know what your going to sell it for.
they're not there just to give it to you they're trying to make a little money to. I've got three buildings and if somebody lowballs me that much on an item and I knew it was for $149 selling on ebay and offered me 15. That's an insult. I would just say no, and no matter what they offered me I would not sell it to them.
My response is - Oh so you’re expecting 30 million people to come by today?
I can't stand it when people don't let me get there stuff for cheap. So I can resell it online it hurts my feelings
@@Holly2017Rascal Looks like seller would be better off. People that want things that cheap and insult the seller. I would throw it in the dumpster and let it go to the landfill first.
I would have asked that knife seller “why didn’t you list it on eBay then?” And walk away
This is why you don't check prices. It is now like this everywhere because of these stupid videos. Once they mention the word eBay. I just walk away.
Dang Garage Sales prices are outrageous. People trying to price things high and then wonder why nobody wants their junk
Interesting everybody thinks it's "junk" but everybody's there trying to pick it up for $2 and sell it for 150.00. Who is outrageous.
it is their sale they can price it at what ever they want.
Those are the same people who are cheaper than dirt when THEY ARE BUYING!😅😅
I've pretty much stopped going to community yard sales. It's always so crowded and just a bunch of junk there. Gotta find those single garage sales that nobody knows about for the treasures.
This is why you don't check prices. It is now like this everywhere because of these stupid videos. Once they mention the word eBay. I just walk away.
Community yard sales are good, But You have to check if they post them every where. Now a lot of places abuse the word "Community sales" To get people showing up.
Do not go to those one without a HOA or reality or have listed homes. They're always a bust, They usually abuse the word Community Sales. Most of them are neighborhood sales that are eBay prices. When you do show up its always 5-8 homes and called it a community sales or sometime even less than that with barely nothing.
Don't go to those places that has block sales or tint sales. All prices are eBay, All of them. Pretty much a mini Estate place. Waste of time
I went by that table with the knives and he did the same thing to me. Wouldn’t give bulk prices and then changed prices as we were taking.
The table beside him did the same thing.
I ended up taking a walk.
Good call! Hope it made them rethink their tactics....
I remember him telling them the Sony was $20, then saying $25, because he put a blank tape in it! LOL Even Goodwill sells the tapes for a buck! I would have walked away.
Josh and Hayley! Thanks for taking us along! I appreciate you both so much! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
Always like seeing different knives as that is what I focus on buying. I would have walked away as soon as the dealer claimed rough rider was "made in the USA". Rough rider is a brand owned by Smokey mountain knife works, who makes them in China.
Thanks Josh for pointing out the realistic difficulties of what you all do. I appreciate it when people take the fantasy out of a job by being honest. Many content creators think honesty means boring or grimy but it isn't, it's relatable. Thanks again!
When sellers start talking about Ebay prices I usually walk away.
Those knive are 100% garbage knives. Except CASE of course. You doged a MAJOR bullet. You would have been lucky to make back your profit in a year. (No joke) especially at his prices.
I'm so glad you show the true side of these long highway yard sales. It's exactly like you stated, where most people set up on the actual highways are vendors/resellers themselves and finding fantastic sales is very difficult. We've found driving off the main highway to people's actual "houses" is where you can find better deals. We recently went to Tennessee and that was the case. We brought back a truck load full of stuff, but 99% of the items were bought were found off the main roads.
The cleanup song made me feel like I was going up and down on a carousel horse at a fair 😊😊
Patsy Cline…. I’ve heard of her. Hayley!!!!!!!! That’s CRAZY. (Get it lol ) She’s an amazing singing legend x
Hayley is super excited, I love to see that!
Really good finds guys! I can't believe I listened to that clown music and watched you organize your stuff at the end lol.
You did dodge a bullet on the knives! Those look like cheap/generic knives, in the bag…
A lot of these prices were ridiculous. "I'll probably get more selling them all individually," the clarion call of someone who won't. I've cleaned out the homes and storage units of hoarders, and all of them (well, their widows and kids) said, "He was gonna get around to it." I'm sure the first dude will get around to selling all 400 knives he got for .25 each from the knife channel.
"I could put it on eBay and . . ." Not sure if these folks realize, the successful yard sellers (not flippers on ebay folks) treat their sales as a wholesale vendor for the eBay crowd.
This prices are comical ! Sheesh !! They should all be ashamed
yup :)
That time lapse music is a cross between a circus and a gondola ride
The US Army knife (silver) you looked at was the exact model issued to me in the late 70s while attending the Special Forces Engineer/Demolition Course. Don't think it would be worth too much, in fact I'm not sure they even issue that sort of knife anymore. I would have got it just for nostalgia.
10 bucks tops, they still issue them in emergency kits.
@@johnwayne2103 Thank you
Just a suggestion for you guys. Get a few of those big canvas carts on wheels like they use for mail or laundry at hotels. Put your stuff you sell from whatnot in it and label date of sale. Keeps the product off the floor and from getting mixed up with new product brought in or just being misplaced. 😀
I have one of those laundry carts... I can't give it away! Maybe if I price it at $100 someone will low-ball me $50 for it.
Love the music. Sounds like we’re on a flying trapeze!!
Josh and Hayley! Just gotta say, to the people that say y’all are no longer relatable, I say, you guys still post ebay comps, so if they can’t find that relatable then not much else anyone can do to help them! I think you guys being in the entertainment phase is what allows y’all to grow and provide more content for us, the people! Thanks for your videos. Personally I love them. Even if there isn’t much relatable or content to teach us. While learning from others mistakes is best, there is still a valuable education is getting out and doing it yourself. Thanks!
I totally understand that people could get things for xxx price on a selling app - thats why you and Hayley do what you do.
But
They need to decide if they sell online they need to keep it till it sells for xx or sell it now for x thats the way it works 🤷♀️🤷♀️ yard sales are to get rid of stuff 😂
Your organizing music made me sad....reminded me of the opening sequence music for the movie UP😢
I can’t stand when people do that, say well I paid such and such for this and I could put this on eBay and get $75 for it. It’s so ridiculous
You should give the plush credit to Cary America Arbitrage. That way, Kevin and Dave both get mad 😂
Kristoff not Sven 🤣 Sven is the reindeer. Great video and finds y’all!
I think the song at the end fit perfectly! Cleaning and organizing your space is a form of self love. So that was the perfect romantic song. ❤
The music for the time lapse was fantastic 😂😅👍👍👍
Irks me to know end when people say such and such sells for this much on eBay… I say this is not eBay and you don’t offer what they do and this is a yard sale, so what do you want for it now? Also, can’t wait for the “big load of stuff “ video lol
I hate it when Im trying to set up and people want to dig through my stuff before I can properly put it on tables. Patience, people.
Josh that music!!! I kept waiting for the carosal to go by!! LOL!!
The 'King Kong' is Cy-Gor from the Spawn comics. Pretty sought after, I want one myself!
Ugggg, if you can sell it on eBay then why the hell ya selling at a flea market? 😂 people irritate me with that, I’m a reseller and have garage sales all the time, I price my stuff so other resellers will buy my stuff I was too lazy to list 😂
Armature knife collector here, RR makes a lot of easy to buy knives but the newer ones I wouldn’t even pay $15 for. I get dude is trying to make money but realistically the two bags of knives you had were probably worth maybe $100 on the after market so I’m sure it was definitely an emotional connection for him. I was panicking thinking you were gonna but a bunch of RR 😅
The music brought me back to Maurice Chevalier and the 1958 movie Gigi. Very fun and a nice memory. Good video today. Thank you.
Oh my goodness, if you’re gonna sell, be ready and have you’re crap priced!
Such inspirational cleaning music. It made me stand up and clean my whole house! 🤪🤪
Nice finds, some of the pricing ridiculous. Good bless stay safe until the next video 💓 😍
lol all those frost cutlery knives
If they can get the amount on EBay then they need to sell it there. I don't go to yard sales to pay reseller prices.
Love the Mose plush
that gorilla figure u picked up. thats cy-gore and he dwells in the spawn universe
What's the point in a yard sale if you're going to sell stuff at ebay prices?! One of the main reasons why people go to yard sales is to get things at a discount, not to pay full price for things they could already get online, smh.. 🙄
I'm glad Hayley is back, she makes me happy.
The Nike “keychain” is from Air Force ones and a few other models from about 10ish years ago when you bought them new that would come attached to all of them.
They still attach them to Jordans that are retro releases!
@@hunterjordan5064 i live in SE Asia now... everything is knock off around here unless you wanna pay damn near 100%+ mark up due to import taxes haha
If an item is selling for $75 on eBay, he should have offered it to you in person at no more than $50. Either he doesnt know how eBay works, or he's not very bright.
Yeah. By the time he takes time to list, pays eBay fees, shipping supplies, gas, whatever...he's definitely not getting that $75 from eBay if he was even looking at SOLD comps and not just listed. lol. I do reselling online and Toy Shows/etc and I definitely mark things much cheaper at events where I know I don't have to pay a percent per item and just a simple setup cost like a table fee and I can just sell things left and right and watch them leave without me having to package each one, worry about returns, etc..
It goes for $75 on E-Bay🤪 Drives me Crazy! All The Best! Be Well Be Safe & Stay Blessed.
We have a regional bank around here that their ATMs pay out $1,5,10,20 and $50 bills. It really is convenient!
50 Miles wow, you two are amazing!
So happy the outro music is back! Sure did miss it!
That man wasn’t attached to those knives. He was a hustler and reseller. He lied to you and told you that Rough Rider Knives were made in the USA . They are made in China. He won’t be getting rid of many at his prices and that’s exactly why he has so many left.
I didn't even wait for the video to finish and I jumped on to whatnot and purchased a new goods inspector Moe's plushie for my reseller collection. I have 2 eneman and one support Piggy so of course I had to get a Moes!
Hope you enjoy it!
Wow I’m only 6 mins in and so far the prices are insane, as in crazy high!
hate it when sellers say 'i can get x amount on ebay check recent solds' yet they forget to minus the ebay and paypal fees.
love the music!!!!!!!!!!! the carousel played music like that!!!!!
Now that’s some good music to end the video.!
That finale, muah, chef's kiss
You are Halarious to watch!!! ❤❤❤
My atm at Truist bank just started giving out ones and fives!!! Whooo hooo!
I used to have one of the U.S. Army knives back in the 70s. My friends dad was posted at Ft Benning and he brought all the guys on our street one of those knives.
Jeffrey L. Hammond (born September 9, 1956) is an American NASCAR personality and crew chief. Currently, he is a commentator for NASCAR's coverage on Fox Sports.
Your choice of music for the time lapse is the same music I heard at the street carnival ferris wheel. 😂
you were on a tour boat in the Amsterdam canals, with this music
As soon as a seller at garage sales 'on Ebay....' I generally walk away. (unless you know you can make something on the item of course). I wonder how much they end up selling them or if they do.
Already looking forward to the NC haul video!! [Did the 127 once.. not again.]
Either we’re having a garage sale or running a museum you can’t do both………
You gotta play the big comfy couch 10 second tighty music when you do an organization time lapse.
The song while organizing is the only song I’m gonna play when I clean now 💀
We have that Nike keychain for our barn key. Lol
Thanks, HT! Always enjoy your videos. 😎👊🙏GOD BLESS
The 🐝 song would've fit perfectly.
Google can always help you look things up, esp if you think something is broken. Lol
there’s a bank called huntington in ohio and their ATMs can give you $1, $5, $10, or $20 i love it
I just bought mine! He will go with Kevin’s and Dave’s :-) and clean up videos are so satisfying.
Thank you! :)
Looking forward to more yard sale videos
Music at the end was perfect 😉
Love Hayley in the videos 💕💕🙏🙏
8am start and the seller doesn't have small bills. Crazy!!
omg the avacado part got me good lol
Do those sellers know what “garage sale” means???…thay price there items like thay r selling in a nice store🤔️…
Great video as always tho🙂
Time lapse cleanup. I muted your music and played the Benny Hill theme song on my phone. I enjoyed it very much.
😝
It seems to be a reoccurring situation at these big sales are people just bringing their stuff to show it off and not sell it feels like people are having a hard time letting things go or knowing what they want for it. It's like you shocked them when you ask them how much they want for it. Almost as if they forgot where they were.
Great video!
I have watched two yardsales today where the wouldn't give a price,i don't see the point of putting it out there
We have ATMs that dispense 5/10/20/50/100 dollar bills in Canada so Im sure they will be in the US soon enough. Love to Mose!!
I like the interactions with yard sale sellers
Lol to the cleaning music
Anytime someone at a yard sale tells me "well i could get X amount for it on ebay so thats what im asking" i always follow up with "well why isnt it on ebay then?"
Were all of the “new goods” plush inspected by the new goods inspector? I only want one if they were 😊 Love you so much Mose!
Every single one 😂
As soon as I hear ebay I do the Wile E Coyote. You will be eating dirt kicked from my heels before you even finish the sentence.
Didn't know you guys were going to the sax fith avenue of garage sales....
The Nike thing is a hang tag from retro Jordan’s.
The worst thing is when a seller has no price and asks you to make them an offer. I'd prefer they tell me how much they want rather than making me guess. At least then there's a point of reference to negotiate from.
Love your videos 😃😃😃
That keychain came on the jordan 4’s when they dropped originally
Benny hill theme music is always fun..😂
