I thought I was dreaming, would have never thought to see this - a PRX version I was wishing for - happen for real. I always liked the PRX for the bracelet, but I don't like watches that resemble hype watches like the royal oak. Also, I like Casios, but have dealt with too many scratched glasses and rubber bands that turned brittle and tore eventually, this is the perfect alternative, great job Tissot!

While I agree with most of your points, I think not using the entire dial as a screen is a strict design choice. I think this is the coolest looking Tissot...I don't mind the PRX, but I think this is more original in todays watch design. I think they missed a trick however, especially on the steel and black, where the black could have been a solar panel to make the watch solar power rather than battery. But apart from that, the price is great and looks amazing

Weirdly, having been a teen in the 1970's, this is truely retro, more so than the original PRX IMHO,
I'd need to see it but the gold PVD 35mm may be a hit with many.
It will date though and Casio could probably do it for less.
Not something I was expecting from Tissot. Still,no one expects The Spanish Inquisition either unless they are Pythoners.

Brings the whole line of PRX to a lower level. The only reason why Teddy didn’t bash the digital version is because he’s an AD and is “in bed” with Tissot. Idk why he even did the video. Maybe he’s required by contract or knows he’s going to be stuck with inventory and wants to generate some sales. Regardless it’s obvious this watch could have been done so much better😮

Hallo Teddy, very first reaction was, no. But I kept on watching and got more friendly with the idea. What I do like is that for a digital watch it can be worn as a elegant watch, because it is done very softly. I mean a quiet watch. So good job from tissot. Thanks from Switzerland 🇨🇭, rachel

The PRX for me someone with not that much of disposable income to throw onto watches was and still is an attractive offer in all other variants, however, I can't really justify it for a digital watch and yes you did make the comment on how the Casios in full metal variants are coming around that same price, but in that case it feels like you're getting the best version of that watch while this feels like getting a lesser version of the PRX... but that's my personal opinion and I wouldn't tell other people not to buy it, it's not a bad watch by any means

    Shark Jumped.....
For 70's retro digital watches, the Hamilton PSR and Bulova Computron provide a much better retro feel.
Both of those releases mirror watches that actually existed in the 70's and early 80's. This release does not.
By the time LCD was released, almost no one was placing them in "round" faces.
Almost all early LCD watches mimicked the design adopted by Seiko when they finally released their first digital alarm chronograph which had the familiar "days of the week" listed at the top of the display with a little PIP that would highlight which day it was.
No one can argue the "quality" of the materials in this release, but it just doesn't look like anything that was actually being worn during that period, and it loses a lot the retro charm as a result.
A PSR can be had for under $800 retail, and depending on discounts all the way down to the mid $500's.
A Computron can be had for $100 less than the PRX.
And both of these outperform the PRX on the retro front.
I cant bring myself to pay over $500 for the PSR, but my Computron scratches that vintage digital watch itch quite nicely.

    • @lookatwrist
      @lookatwrist 11 месяцев назад

I hate to tell you but what you said is a bit off here. There were tons of digital watches in round cases throughout the 70s, it was quite popular. There was a vintage digital tissot that looked pretty much just like this one. A digital prx from 1975 more or less. They also sold rebranded Casiotrons, round ones too.
The psr and computron are great retro rereleases, but LED digitals were the style of the early 70s, LCD was the late 70s. It's unexpected but I applaud taking the risk.

I'd buy this if it had solar. There aren't great premium digital options. Casio needs a steel digital watch with solar and 100m water resistance that isn't a chunky g shock. The g shock squares are a classic because they are more wearable with a smaller size. The metal squares just seem overpriced. A metal rerelease of their older Marlins would be nice.
