Great film, I love photographing there too, although the first weekend I went to see if the owls had returned they were running a partridge shoot there so I didn’t have a lot of luck
Some great shots. Thank you. I am new to photography and I was out on the hill with the longest lens I have, 300mm, when a Red Kite soared above me and checked me out. At first I thought great. Then I thought maybe the bird is checking for edible bits? It was unnerving to be honest. Have you ever had any tense moments behind the camera?
No they are watchers and 90% of their food is carrion so they glide low looking for food. They won’t attack humans. I understand they will take food from outside tables but A/ I have never seen them do that but as agile flyers I am sure they come close sometimes and B/ they are smart learning machines and the real challenge is all the people who feed them. They are wonderful to look at swooping down but they don’t understand the difference between a burger on the barbeque and cold sausage on the lawn - simple - don’t feed them but a camera and walk ! 🤷♂️
@@simonbooker Thank you for the reply. I have upgraded to the 150-600 lens and gone full on wildlife photography for a while. I would not dream of feeding them - in fact I only start my lunch when they are not around :)
@@niafer9444 fab and wasn't accusing you :-) but I was asked about Red Kites as pests at a talk I was giving, and the "feeding" point came up. Sadly a lot of people do it.
wow very good bro
Great video! Love the commentary anc infos about the birds 🙂.
Glad you enjoyed it! I tried hard on the narration so your feedback is great - thank you 👍🏻
Amazing video I will have to check this place out.
You should! It’s a great location
Simon, this video is brilliant. Well done, it has travelled so far to Bedhampton and York.
