I always love your honest reviews, not like other reviewers where everything is "Oh my God it smells amazing"

Great review. It is more of a citrus fragrance on me than an osmanthus one. I've found that when a flower is used as the name of an OJ fragrance, it doesn't really smell much like it. OJ has made some fantastic fragrances, but it is disappointing when a fragrance doesn't seem to match up with their name or the brand’s official description of it.

Yes, the other 2 OJ i have tried have been great. Thank you Yve.

I appreciate your honest opinions, Pep. Osmanthus is a very pleasant fragrance, but not sure it's worth the price. I actually blind bought Ormonde Jayne Osmanthus Elixir from a discounter and I ended up liking it, although it's a bit more citrus-oriented than I normally like. I look forward to seeing how it performs this summer. Cheers!

What’s your thoughts on the elixer version ? Worth buying? I’m considering getting it. Smelt it and I think it’s amazing . It’s the best from their line in my opinion.

@@zackmorris6616 I like it, zack. They didn't have a tester in my local fragrance store so I blind bought it. I have to say that if I had tested it, I don't think I would have bought it. Don't get me wrong! It's a very good fragrance and of high quality!! It's just my personal preferences...it smells too citrusy and too aromatic and a bit like a designer fragrance.

@@dcjimr1 I have osmanthus the original version in a small decant and I think it’s amazing. Yes it is very citrusy but it’s well rounded by the floral and woody notes. I think the lamdemen is so well utilised here as it gives it a very classy leathery touch. You were brave to blind buy as it is mega expansive. So which version do you think is better, the original or the elixer ?

@@zackmorris6616 I've only smelled Osmanthus once, so my memory might be a little faulty. But I did like that one a bit more than the elixir, just because it was a bit softer and it seems like I could smell the osmanthus more. I got it at a discounter so I just don't tell the ladies at the perfume shop that because they're very nice (but it was $80 cheaper!). 😁I learned my lesson, though, and have not blind bought another Ormonde Jayne fragrance since.

Nice honest review Pep. I’d put money on it that most osmanthus fragrances don’t use real osmanthus as it is very expensive. To me Miyako by Auphorie is an incredible osmanthus. Also Smoked Bloom by Libertine fragrance has a lovely , slightly creamy osmanthus note. -Chris

Thanks Chris, i still haven't smelled a lovelier osmanthus accord than what i have smelled in Osmanthus Noble by Exaltatum.

Just as much value in a review of something given a pass or a fragrance not measuring up to the house standards. To little of the type of candor in reviews. Love your channel for that Pep. ✌

Completely agree, smelled this one the other week and it's a competent but misnamed watery floral. For the price point I feel like Ormonde Jayne scents have to be absolute knockouts if you're going to invest and this one definitely isn't. I hate when a perfume is named after a note and doesn't smell like it at all (Le Labo is so bad with this!), feels like you've been misled.

I liked this one as you say, very pleasant, but agree with you Pep, I wouldn’t buy it. I did get my hands on a travel size which I’m happy with.

Great review, Pep. Think I'll pass on this one. I'm also a fan of Osmanthus so if it's not very present then I'll look elsewhere. Thanks!

Why the filler music?? It's terribly distracting. 😵

@@TheScentinel I'm afraid it is just distracting. It's been such a frustration, more generally, I appreciate you asking. I blame RUclips academy but don't really know why it's taken off as much as it has. Many channels that I follow for the content, have now added 'filler music' and it splits my brain, one half inadvertently 'following' the music, the other trying to listen to the talk. I'm an auditory learner, that probably explains it. I've seen others voice their discontent but we are evidently a minority. (Auditory learners are just 30%).
