Sounds like we all had a similar experience, though in my case I went for the Chaos ending the first time around, meaning I only got to fight the nerfed stage 1 version of Lucifer. After the battle with Shiva the games climax was underwhelming to say the least.
Makes me wonder how much more powerful is transcended Lucifer (that’s what I call him since he “transcended” above YHVH). I assume he’s way more powerful than YHVH since he was already strong and now with what I assume is YHVH’s power infused into him. He is also the only being to know of the Mandala Cycle before telling the MC. I doubt he’s as strong as Stephen or Axiom by a long shot but he is probably def stronger than YHVH which could also mean true neutral Nahobino is just as strong since he beats Lucifer and consumed his knowledge to help break the cycle. This just proves how insanely strong the characters are in V compared to the other titles. This confirms that Nahobino is probably at minimum on par with Aleph and Doomguy.
I think it says somewhere that Lucifer consumed God's power and that's why he's rocking Tornado/Inferno/etc. of God. At the very least, I'd say this is by far Lucifer's strongest showing.
Anyone is on par with them. Neither Aleph nor Doomguy have been shown to be any different than normal humans, from my understanding. Sure, aleph isnt human, and he defeats YHVH, but isnt he also cursed in the process? Which makes him severely less impressive than some. And Doomguy would be screwed without his demons pulling most of the work, just because he cant use magic and is entirely an ordinary human. Nahobino has the most impressive feats so far, and may in fact be the strongest protagonist.
@@jonathangoodwin5609 Aleph still beat YHVH with his bare hands, no power of friendship stuff, no demon backing him up. Yes he did get cursed at the end since YHVH’s a prick, but I just shows that both Aleph and YHVH are on equal footing, Aleph beat him but YHVH cursed him so there’s no definitive winner in the end since both of them lost in their own ways. Also doomguy beat Shekinah who is the divine aspect of god, with gun. Yeah he got demons but there is no canon set of final demons he uses, so it’s safe to assume he did most of the heavy lifting. Cuz I’m pretty sure if he uses demons less than Beelzebub level of power, he won’t even stand a chance.
@@SirSuffers I personally think that Lucifer either didn't have God's full power or was intentionally holding back. so no, the protagonist is not stronger than Aleph, but he may be on Doomguy's level.

I'm not gonna lie, Lucifer's skills look *really damn cool*, not to mention powerful as HELL. It's a shame that given the requirements of True Ending and the massive level difference, plus other stuff to make the MC/demons powerful, that you'd rarely get to see them or feel their impact. It's a long shot, but if there's ever a remake of thsi game (not likely), I'd like a rebalance so we can actually get a challenging version of this fight. (Maybe make him Level 100 like YHVH in SMT IVA?
This makes me salty that Lucifer isn't playable without a jailbroken/modded switch. Dagnabbit. Getting access to him and all his fancy boss moves would have been a nice reward for 100% completion of the different endings.
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 Even fighting Shiva under leveled doesn't fix it since beating Shiva at around level 86 gives enough exp to get to level 92 even on hard mode where the exp gains are nerfed.
I made the mistake of over leveling to beat Shiva. Tried him at level 86 and he would wipe out Idun with one hit. So I leveled to around 95. After that the rest of the game is a joke. In fact, I didn't see hardly any of Lucifer's skills shown here in the video, since he changed affinities after a couple of rounds. Next playthrough, I'm going to shoot for taking out Shiva at a much lower level. Still though, I don't know how much of a challenge the rest of the bosses will be at even the upper 80's to low 90's. Maybe Lucifer, but the rest will be a pushover still.
I beat Shiva at level 86 after building way too many demons and getting way too much stuff. The problem is that it leveled me to level 95, where level scaling did the rest. If you really wanted to have a challenge with Lucifer/Empyrean bosses, you'd need to fight Shiva at the low 80's to have a challenge.
@@thestealer63214 that makes sense. It is likely to be a tough fight at level 80 though. I think BuffMaister had a really good Shiva strategy in a different video. He used Sigfried as a tank, with Fierce Roar and plugging up his weaknesses. Something like this seems essential, because in the mid 80's I had a hard time even getting a hit off... I was simply playing defense and then get unlucky and end up wiped out.
Yep. The game design is absolute garbage. If you overshot your leveling just by a little bit, it's not fun. There were some bosses that were too high in level and it was completely one sided. Getting just a few levels higher made it one sided in the player's favor. The best balance was anywhere from 5 to 2 levels lower as a Nahobino and 2 to 5 levels higher for the demons. Since demons can't outlevel the Nahobino after summoning, you need fresh fusions for your party to make it somewhat enjoyable. The only ones I was somewhat able to enjoy were Joka, Lahmu, Fionn, Odin, and Zeus and all of them were because their levels are much higher than the rest of the area so I went underleveled. Whoever did the level thing as a stat should be fired and not allowed to work again. The game is extremely unbalanved as is.
@@whyisblue923taken I thought that the game was pretty balanced up until the Shiva fight and afterwards. If you skip Shiva, then it would have been fine all the way through. Or Shiva should've been the final boss, as he was tougher than most other bosses that came afterwards (outside of demi-fiend). Or they should have made Shiva a little easier. What I did like about this game, that they nailed up until that point where there were issues, is that there was no need to grind. Just taking on the side quests and using level up items for the Nahibino and other demons was enough to be able to get through most of the game, only needing to make sure to fuse or recruit the right demons for certain boss fights. I thought that the game was a lot of fun. Still miles ahead of just about any other non-Atlus RPG. Really only falling apart a bit with the balance toward the very end of the game. And the story didn't have the same impact as it did in Nocturne, if you progress through the true demon ending. I loved how in Nocturne all of the demons that you were fighting were carefully weaved into that overarching story, even the little bug dropped into the protagonist right at the beginning being part of the story as well as the means for which he gains affinities and skills. Fusion and the press turn battle system was refined quite a bit from Nocturne in SMT V though and was a welcome step up. Here's hoping I'll have as much fun with Soul Hacker's 2. I'm not sure about it, but again an Atlus RPG is far better than most other RPG's out there.
I beat Shiva at 86 and leveled up to 92 from that fight alone despite playing on hard which nerfs exp gains. I genuinely don't know how you're supposed to reach the full Lucifer fight without being overleveled for it.
Or rather the Archangels skills from SMT IV. Unfortunately for, his don’t Pierce. Maybe it’s a sign that even though he gained so much power after he rebelled against *record scratch*, he left behind what he might have been able to use if he were still a servant.
I didn't realize that Lucifer throws the stars for high elemental damage. They are very weak and give him weaknesses too, so I figured he was trying to kill himself. lol
Kinda funny how Lucifer has all of Demi-fiend's unique skills but the ones he shares with DLC Demi-fiend are all nerfed so technically there's 2 different versions of all those skills in the game
I never saw Heliopolis Dawn in my fight against Khonsu Ra because I had Cleopatra and Khonsu's Thoth ally just kept using light skills on her every time Khonsu tried to charge up Heliopolis Dawn, I was even pretty under levelled but I still beat him thanks to that lol
some of those skills like dreadful gleam or heliopolis dawn I was looking forward to get those demons to get them and they are missing somehow for unexplained reasons? bug? or on purpose and if on purpose why?
That's just their affinity from using skills of that element. The higher the number, the bigger the damage and lesser the MP cost. It's meant so that demons are logically adept at some elements more than others. It's like making Jack Frost use a fire skill, when it excels more on ice skills. You could still give them skills with the element they suck on if there's not much choice when fusing.
@@user-ud5uo8fm4x well maybe it's just my bias because i'm not reaching to that point yet. It's all from watching someone using Murakumo and Fire of Sinai often and the result was Fire of Sinai does more damage

After the battle with Shiva the games climax was underwhelming to say the least.
I was so disappointed that khonsu ra didn't have a single unique skill to his name, dude really gonna hold out on me after a missable sidequest.
5:07 gave me DBZ vibes of all things
...on second thought, almost _everything_ in this video gave me that vibe
Luci's design SLAYS. He looks phenomenal.
Khonsu just did a fucking DBZ move I swear I thought his love was weak till he threw THE DEATH BALL
@@christopherbravo1813 I think u might be right on the holding back part since Luci’s whole intention was to be killed by Nahobino so that he can gain his Knowledge and break the cycle. So there’s no reason for him to go all out if he wants to be killed (yet the game still makes u fight him lmao)
"Does your luck wax, or wane?" Is such a cool line from the Shinto God of the Moon
Watching these animations after a day of playing pokemon legends arceus is how I restore my faith in switch gaming.
3:50 His stare at the Contempt of God skill looks similar to the painting The Fallen Angel by Cabanel
This makes me salty that Lucifer isn't playable without a jailbroken/modded switch. Dagnabbit. Getting access to him and all his fancy boss moves would have been a nice reward for 100% completion of the different endings.
I hope we could use that lucifer in post-game
same with final enemy nahobino forms
It doesn't seem like you can. A few demons unlock for fusion after you beat the game and lucifer isn't one of them
@@user-ud5uo8fm4x Nope, no Lucifer or Demi-Fiend or the Nahobino forms :/
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 yeah a shame
Man sure would be nice to fight Lucifer's 2nd form without having to be over leveled
Yeah they really should've buffed him to level 95 or 99,
@@dantemustdie00 Honestly have no idea why they didn't. Shiva is 96 and you HAVE to fight him before Lucifer or not at all
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 Even fighting Shiva under leveled doesn't fix it since beating Shiva at around level 86 gives enough exp to get to level 92 even on hard mode where the exp gains are nerfed.
These graphics deserves a PC and PS port.
Just wait. Maybe we can get a port on 2023
@@proletariodeverde9657and guess what it only took us 3 years to finally got it
I think he’s using YHVH’s elemental skills from apocalypse
Or rather the Archangels skills from SMT IV. Unfortunately for, his don’t Pierce. Maybe it’s a sign that even though he gained so much power after he rebelled against *record scratch*, he left behind what he might have been able to use if he were still a servant.
I swear I never seen Lucifer use any of these skills. He can fight!!!!
What the heck it’s damn cool
I didn't realize that Lucifer throws the stars for high elemental damage. They are very weak and give him weaknesses too, so I figured he was trying to kill himself. lol
Another badass lucifer design that we cant use
I love how half of Lucifer's skills are just death if they land
I really wish some of the Nahobinos and Lucifer could be bonus party members. I want that mega-hyper-galaxy-super-star-god Lucifer on my team!!

I never saw Lucifer summon and use Morning Star. Wow that's intimidating
Really with some of these would be usable like the dreadful gleam and morning star
Lahmu fully healing after using Babylon Curse was basically his version of Dragon Eye, stupidly overpowered and fucking annoying to fight against
I never saw Heliopolis Dawn in my fight against Khonsu Ra because I had Cleopatra and Khonsu's Thoth ally just kept using light skills on her every time Khonsu tried to charge up Heliopolis Dawn, I was even pretty under levelled but I still beat him thanks to that lol
I know damn well they didn’t make magma axis into an AOE move for Lucifer exclusively. Aight, Altus
some of those skills like dreadful gleam or heliopolis dawn I was looking forward to get those demons to get them and they are missing somehow for unexplained reasons? bug? or on purpose and if on purpose why?
They are Boss Exclusive. They only appear in the boss fights themself and you can't use them, even if you get the demon that uses it.
i didn't know Lucifer could use Demi-Fiend's unique skills
Is Louis voice by the colonel from MGS
Who's the dude with the crest on his face and how do you get to his boss fight, really got me curious
Is it me or lucy just steal some techniques from the demi-king
When the enemy throws these moves like the last one in the vid with +8 is there ever lower versions or does it only exist as +8?
That's just their affinity from using skills of that element. The higher the number, the bigger the damage and lesser the MP cost. It's meant so that demons are logically adept at some elements more than others.
It's like making Jack Frost use a fire skill, when it excels more on ice skills. You could still give them skills with the element they suck on if there's not much choice when fusing.
I really have been playing the game wrong. I didn't get to see almost every one of these skills in game.
It sucks that i beat lucifer in just a couple of turns. His animations are really good

Fire of Shinai for Almighty i guess?

Maybe it isn't, but it does so much damage that it might as well be. I don't think the Veil skill, two defense up buffs, and two attack down debuffs will even medigate that much damage either.

You must have done the ''Destroy the throne'' ending. yeah that skips the true final boss.
Well, let me rephrase that. Destroy the Throne has a ''hidden'' ending if you complete the required sidequests before the ending choice (Right after Metatron).
Doing this, triggers the ''true'' Final Boss with a slight difference compared to the other 2 ending routes.
