Quite a saga for the DeLorean Roadster. This is what's best about your channel. It isn't just that you put these cars back on the road, but you research and share the history of the cars. And now, Matt wherever this car ends up in the future, you are a part of this car's history as well. 50 or a hundred years from now they'll tell the story of how the roadster was nearly lost, but this guy from Pennsylvania Matt Murray brought it back to life.
Born in Detroit , raised in Dearborn. Helped build cars like yours in high school in many back alley garages. This film brought back so many memories. Thanks for keeping hot rodding simple and pure.
I live in Detroit, I have driven past that building about a 1000 times. I thought about trying to see if the place was available to rent about 25 years ago. Never thought that it had gold like that in it. Right under my nose for 40 years.
Crazy right?! It’s amazing what’s sitting forgotten in Detroit! The owner had many offers to buy but never sold it and sadly never got to revive it. Bad for him but good for us!
@IronTrapGarage I It looks like it went to the right place now. It has traveled and had a long rest from Detroit to California back to Detroit and now to Pennsylvania.
I was in that building with my friend Tom. We looked at that car. That shop was loaded up with stuff. I mean it was a chore just getting to the car. The roof in that place and the electrical 😵. I’m very happy to see how far this car has come. What a treat!! Bring it back to Detroit for the Autorama!! 👍🏁
I have a '41 Ford pickup. Had the original 85hp flat head with the double clutch 4spd. I'm 51 and still have it. It's changed over the years. I appreciate you finding and keeping them as they were. Keep doing the right thing with these treasures.
That was the best 30 minute you tube video of 2024. Having followed your progression, this was the Cherry on top of the Sunday. Great job and enjoy the ride.
The last ten minutes tell the tale. The Detroit unearthing introduced me to ITG and have been following along ever since, while gaining inspiration and confidence at every step of the journey. Thanks Matt. And Mike. And Steve. edit: and I still remember what a job it was just getting the roadster off that lift and out into daylight!
@@IronTrapGarage You may want to look into having a Legend Board created. For when you show it. People always Love a good story. This car has it in Spades & your work is Spot On. Enjoying the Merc chop & impressed with your work.
One of your best projects! If, in the future, you’re able to make contact with the builder from back in day, as you did with Jack, reuniting him with the car when it’s “done” would make for a real tear jerker of an emotional episode. RIP Jack!
Every Hot Rodder's dream, a Deuce Roadster or Coupe!! I watched all the videos that lead up to the making of this video and love them all! Thanks for taking me along!
Couldn't agree more, I sold my first '32 Roadster twenty years ago, after spending five years building it. I replaced it a few years later with a 3 Window Coupe, but I couldn't gel with the car and sold it. Finally managed to find a '32 Roadster again about five years ago and it brought back the memories of driving in an open top Hotrod that I had really missed. It was an early V8 car registered in New York and had been in the same family since the 1950's.
Yeah, it's taken a minute or two to bring this hot rod back among the living so to speak and it did so through you hard work and dedication to preserve it and save it from utter and complete ruin! GREAT JOB Matt! Many more awaiting your caring hands out there, keep on the hunt!!!
Fantastic trip down memory lane! The story of this car and how you got her back on the road is the stuff of legends! Still amazing that you got the original hood back! Go Iron Trap, keep moving forward!
Great job Matt and Steve! It's so great that you save that DeLorean roadster...... Each one of these cars you save is another piece of History and keeping these cars running is great instead of them sitting somewhere and rotting away

Nice Matt !! You´ve made this culture treasure back in it´s glory again. Happy New Year from Sweden !!! Been following You guys from start. NUMBER ONE CHANNEL !!!!
Got to see this car at Hershey, what a time piece. Even better that you are driving it to car shows. I forgot what kind of shape it was in before you started. What a process to bring this one back. I actually like the condition of the body and paint rather than a car you can't drive for fear of a rock chip. Great job on the restoration.
Matt, you are absolutely the right person for this car. No one else would have researched and rebuilt this car the way it deserves to be. Great job! Great car. One of my favorites. Happy New Year!
This is by far my favorite video on your channel ( they are all great ). So cool to see the rescue and revival of such a cool car! Thank you for putting this together, literally. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
What a great story, great rescue, awesome history & lovingly put back together as it was. I really enjoyed watching every minute of this video. My dad would have loved this, he was building back street rods in his youth of old English cars & ordering Hot Rod magazines from the US before anyone new about it in the 1960's. 👍
Best all-time old car restoration yet, by Matt and crew. I hope you get it to where you want it to be and continue to enjoy the tremendous work you put into this project, for many, many years. Thank you for taking on & sharing such a significant car's rejuvenation.
It was fun seeing this compilation video on the DeLorean Roadster. I had forgot how much work you had to do on the old frame and subframe. Then the body repairs. But all worth it in the end as you were definitely the right person to get this car.
Hi Matt, I enjoyed your video of acquiring and getting the '32:Ford Roadster back on the road. Thanks for being the caretaker of this special roadster, enjoy!
Absolutely wild to see almost the entirety of a build happen in time lapse and you end up with a super nice tried and true hotrod. You guys may be the most talented people I've seen in the game here on RUclips. Holding it down for the east. Congratulations and keep up the killer work!

Also great to have a playlist for those who want the deeper dives. Thanks for sharing! Of course, now I'm curious about some of the builds that were in the background and aren't there anymore (looking squarely at that race car under the side lift)... 🤣
Haha yes a lot to look at in the background! We have some videos of finding and working on the race car but it has now gone on to a new owner in the UK!
This was an awesome video! I really enjoyed this condensed version of this car rescue and restore. Have a great 2025, you have come so far in these last 4 years!
It has become your daily driver. It is nice but not too nice. I like that you kept the finish distressed. You don't need to worry about rock chips or scratches. It does have some get up and go and the 2 speed axel makes it easy on the revs at highway speeds. The sheet metal repairs you made have blended in seamlessly and were good practice for your recent roof chop on the Mercury. Congrats, I'd drive the wheels off of it if it were mine, just like you are doing.

Hi, I live in country out from Kansas City. Turned 75 last year and been around cars my whole life. Glad to see younger guys interested in old cars to keep the hobby going. Still have my high school car, 1954 Chevrolet tudor 210 , since September 1966. Also have my 1938 Chevrolet master Business Coupe bought in February 1970. You have many good skills needed to put old vehicles back on the road. Enjoy your videos, with your buddies, and started watching about the time you bought your red 1934 Ford sedan. That smile on your face when you took it for it first ride says it all. Good work, keep it up and hope to run into you guys at a show in SE PA. You should bring it down to Hagley in September.
Definitely one of my favourite car's of you guys! Up until i was 15 or so (so late 1990's), you could still find old hot rods & old cars like the Delorean here in Australia, sadly 90% of them were sold as scrap or farmers pushed them into creek beds for erosion control
@johnwayne3904 For sure; my great grandfather bought a 2nd hand 1934 Ford when he returned from WW2; after he passed, one of his nephews got it, only thing that was not original was the RH headlight. The nephew hot rodded it, put a Chev big block in it; was not the same car I grew up around & driving in with my great grandparents (he still drove it well into the early 1990's, before Glaucoma took his sight)

Enjoyed this build I have a 1953 Ford Custom just like my first car from 1965 .I added an offy three carb intake with Holley 1904 carbs set up in the progressive style on the 215 6 cylinder with Fenton split exhaust manifold and dual exhaust and a Mavrick 8 inch rear with a 4.11 posi. ,Runs and drives great.Have a disc brake setup would to get on the front.
I built model cars as a kid in the early 60s. The first car I chopped was a 32 coupe. I was having a beer at a local brewery here in Utah when a couple came in. The conversation turned to where were from. We were from the same small town on the Great Plains. The husband gave me a strange look before saying: Teddy, we built model cars together! Turns out we had been middle school friends, and he remembered my chopped 32 that won the model car contest at the local hardware store. Small world.

I forgot how much time you guys put into that can. Great recap video ❤
Thanks, we’re pretty proud of how it turned out!
Wow what a small world!
Cool cars and their history are very interesting to me!
