You can pack the kiln as tightly as you want. Do remember that pieces expand and shrink on the kiln while at high temps. I always make sure I can fit my pinky between things so they don’t kiss! Do you make the crystals yourself? I bought a bag of cone 10 clay and I make my kiln cookies really thin so that when something does stick to them it’s So Much easier to remove the cookie when grinding it off. I still have a ton of cookies that are cone 6 clay and I still add kiln wash. It takes a long time to dry but it works. With the hold you just want to start with a few minutes and work up by 2 to 3 minute intervals until you get the cone you’re going for. Size of kiln doesn’t matter. I just have to say that I absolutely love your style and the fact that you both handbuild and slip cast! I do both as well. I think we’ve talked about this before lol. I have wanted to work with colored slip forever and I’m so glad to see what you did. I have a few mason stains and made a light blue slip and slip cast a small open face snowflake!! Lol. I just don’t want to mess up good pieces so I keep putting it off. I am going to try the “stickers” like you did. I follow the forest something people as well and omg I LOVE what they do. I need to just go for it for crying out loud. I’ve been doing clay since 1999!!!! Not the entire time. I was sick for about 11 years and was bed ridden most of them time. Have you tried Dick Blick cone 6 slip? They use Standard white slip. I’ve used it forever and all I do is strain it with. 60 mesh and pour it! It used to be 16.00 for 2 gallons but now it’s 18.00 for 2 gallons and the best thing is that if you spend 59.00 in product they ship it for free!! Definitely order when it’s warm enough that it doesn’t freeze. Anyway I hope I have helped with the things you had questions about. My favorite piece is the container with the crystals on the top. I LOVE containers as well. Do you buy your molds online from the Facebook groups? Sorry for all the questions. Have an awesome day.
Hey michelle! Are you on instagram? Do you have pictures of your own work online? I look at facebook groups a lot but am not really active on there sharing anything personal anymore. Would love to talk more with you!!!
I have the mold of little boxes and I have been so stuck as to what to do with them. Thanks for the ideas! I think I’ll add something to the lids to help hold the lid better. I also pour them pretty thick so they don’t fall over too easily. Love the mushrooms did you make them yourself? Pleeeease do a video on how you made them!
Hello Amanda, please tell me, for what can I use the thing with mushrooms? I dont know this!🙈… Your work is wunderfull, thanks for show Best regards, Ines from Germany (my english is not the best 😂)
Hi! I think one was a jar, one a vase and one a pipe! And the small ones are just figurines or miniatures, just decorations. If you mean a specific item, just tell me the timestamp and i can let you know more! Thanks for watching🍄
