Speaking of the population bomb scare- When I was a senior in high school in 1970, the University of Michigan hosted the “Teach-in on the Environment”, March 11-14, 1970. My biology class took a field trip to Ann Arbor and I remember attending the ZPG (Zero Population Growth) class. The class culminated with a clipboard being passed from student to student and we were expected to sign the pledge to have no more than two children. I sensed that something was not right about what we were expected to do so when the clipboard came to me, I passed it on without signing, thanks be to God.
Fr Murr is correct: charity demands justice. They go hand in hand.

Much love and Respect... Happy Fathers Day!! My Dad died 26 years ago at age 68. Listening to your ministry eases the pain of his loss. He was not Catholic, but had much Respect for the Church.
Father Muir is a joy to listen to. In my opinion he is a very good man and a holy priest.
St. Thomas Aquinas said that immigrants should not be accepted unless they accept the values of their adoptive country. Also they should not be allowed to stand for election for public office for three generations, to make sure they are loyal citizens, not traitors.
I never grow weary listening to Fr. Murr and Dr. Moynihan.
When my grandparents came go this country in 1905, they went to class to learn English and learned the American way.Got jobs and sent my Dad and Aunt to school and church.

Q: Why do people emigrate in the first place?
A: Perhaps because they perceive the new country, language and customs to be more to their liking.
Therefore immigrants must be obliged embrace the language and customs of the new country.
Otherwise they must stay where they are.

Just wanted to add, just from my mum & dad, there are now about 200 children down to the last Great Great Grandchild and that's just in my lifetime - happy memories and happy days!
If all my siblings had lived, there would have been 14 of us but my mum lost four, I'm the youngest of ten children and I can honestly say I was happy and blessed having such a loving family! Eirè
Please do discuss the Irish “potato famine” next week! I’ve been contemplating the similarities between the Irish (and British) with the situation we see today with the Palestinians (and Israel). There is a detailed accounting of this in a book written by Chris Fogarty - “Ireland 1845-1850: The Perfect Holocaust & Who Kept it ‘Perfect’.”
Your talk today regarding the loss of language again made me think of this situation. Irish Gaelic is practically nonexistent…and we don’t hear about that one very often if at all! The Irish are a “minority” and from my read of actual history, they were never treated better than any of the other colonized nations and yet we don’t hear about it. Why? Because the Irish lack pigmentation in their skin? Because (after the initial persecution) the Irish assimilated so well into a Christian nation like the United States? The segment of the population who considers themselves “Irish Catholic” in the United States is waning…there are many “St. Patrick’s churches” in this country where the masses are said predominantly in Spanish. It’s a topic that I think you can certainly spend an hour on and I so highly value both of your insights. God bless you both! Thank you for another edifying hour on Wednesday morning!

Everyone in Europe and the US should read the Hapsburg Way by Archduke Edward von Hapsburg in order to maintain the culture. Also, diabolical divorce must be discouraged and made difficult, especially when children are involved. Divorce is also the death knell of the family and for procreation.

Where's charity?
To all of those who want to open the borders to anyone without requiring them to be properly vetted, open your house to them.
Feed them, clothe them, get them a car. Let them date your daughters. When you do that, then you can stand up and say, where is charity?
Regarding “Where is charity?” we must consider the precautions of St. Thomas Aquinas’ recommended about a country’s responsibility to maintain security and sovereignty.
Socialists Clower and Piven who taught at Columbia University maintained that government can be overturned by “overwhelming the system”. How can that be achieved? Spending money by going into debt; flooding the border with millions of illegals while turning over schools and recreational centers to them; housing them in expensive hotels. The US is on yrs way to self destruction, boy to mention the risk of terrorist attacks as single military age illegals are pouring in from all over the world including China. We need relief from this madness.

And the US has tried to help people where they are, but both ends have sometimes fallen short. But it seems as if the US is damned if they do & damned if they don't. Many countries are screaming for help from US...
But if US helps, people get angry, if US doesn't help, people get angry. If help is given, it shouldn't be just throwing $ down the drain, aka in other's pockets. It should be given for ex, building a school or hospital, some infrastructure etc. AND teach the people receiving help the skills, trades, knowledge needed to maintain, keep up the help given & then expand upon it themselves. Teach them the right way to govern themselves. The CC has a unifying role here.
But US really needs to focus on their OWN citizens who badly need help. For countless people, especially the elderly, the disabled, the infirm, our veterans, young families [too many taxes, both parents need to work]; they are drowning right now & have been for a long time...
And sadly most Churches & charities are ONLY concerned with the 🧱 hoppers, who we know many are being sent for nefarious reasons.
All this occurring as mega corps & for ei9n entities buying up mega portions of US farm land, wilderness, real estate leaving the people with soaring real estate & food prices, less options etc. Other countries would NEVER allow this.
US also needs to end 8irłh right ciłis ensh!p, no other country allows that either, it's being badly abused. Same for dual citi holders holding g0v positions since you never can tell where their priorities lie. Other countries don't allow that either.

Same amount of Catholic Churches in NE Mpls. Still the festivals every year.
That's wonderful! The bazaars all the Churches had in my area were so much fun. Greatly looked forward to them every year.
Unfortunately, after the changes came in the mid-late 90's they became less frequent. Then they started to close our Churches, that generations lovingly built & maintained, down one by one. You can probably guess the rest.

The topic of mass immigration has a tendency to elict vitriolic comments from some. Taken in the round, the great achievement of the American Colonies and the United States of America, responsible individualism, which for centuries has been the aspiration of millions upon millions around the world, has been product of 17/18th Century "British Isles". The waning of that ethnicity from the American continent means the waning of the achievement.

I teach adults English as a second language, very low level. One of my Somalian students had all of her male children slaughter by a neighboring tribe. The only boy left was the baby she carried in her arms. The US government relocated her first to Alaska! Are you kidding me? Where's the charity? Someone should have helped her be safe somewhere in her own country with family support. That would have been better for her and her surviving children. Honestly, I think that "they" traumatized them on purpose.

He's an exemplary man, and what a real Catholic Priest truely is. The seminaries & Priesthood need courageous men like him badly.
He's a holy man, with the courage to tell the truth & say, what in all charity, needs to be said.
One caveat is the J-Christiantiy concept. It's more like J-May•sonik, but can't get into that much here.
Bottom line is that he's not afraid to stand up for what he knows is right. Young Priests, older Priests & all of us can take a cue from Fr & strive to be more like him; courageous, honest, charitable, wise, & righteous while retaining a sense of joy! +DG+AM+
It would have been good for the immigrants to retain their own language, customs and cooking. There grew up an anti-foreigner strain in America, a parochialism which deprived us of much cultural enrichment. If you are an immigrant staying in America, then your language should Indeed be passed on to the children. The children will learn English. My own relatives were upset that their grandchildren were not speaking English. It was painful to hear their provincialism. My own ancestors were discriminated against here in America because of their country of origin. So they forgot their language as soon as possible by not speaking it in the family.

This had consequences since we are now disconnected from understanding what the Church has always believed & taught; in particular why 1 genuflection was withheld. It was out of love & charity, so grace could be given to understand The Truth, while rendering proper respect to Christ & understanding the mechanism of The Passion.
Today, those who it represented are no longer being prayed for or approached w The Truth because we were told they don't need it anymore [which is not loving or charitable].
This paved the way for the massive error of "Christian 💤!0️⃣n'sm" which has become widespread today, other early heresies to reappear again, movements to re- jay - diaze the Church [like The ♓️€B R00ts Movement] by participating in ceremonies that call for "the coming ♏️€$$!ah", which is a serious error since He already came. The changing of the Good Fri Prayers, N0straAetate wiped away what the Church had always taught/believed, sanitized history for ex, why ⛎️$ary was illegal, and led people to accept & engage in erroneous modern movements.
There's also not enough discussion regarding the influence orgs like, HIA$ (♓️€b Imm!gration Aid Society), have had on countries experiencing the silent !n♈️a5!0n. These orgs not only facilitate illegal traf ficking, but ideology is also exported; including, Kah-8all-!sł!k/Ta1M00d!k/
