As someone who has played pickup ball for decades my advice is don't talk trash, don't play ridiculous aggressive D, and don't argue about fouls, travels, and out of bounds. There is no ref there so just play and have fun. Nothing worse than when people think they are some kind of warriors and start arguing over fouls, rules, the score, whatever. It just leads to fights and accomplishes nothing. Have fun, get some exercise, avoid injuries. That's what it's all about.
Thirty years ago when I was these guys age hooping we were yelling AND 1. It's just an iconic phrase in basketball.

This reminds me of a couple of pick-up games I played in L.A. What a waste of time -- run and gun, no passing from rebnound to shot, and finally the arguments, constant arguments. You don't dare drive the lane or you'll get brutalized. Ain't basketball. I remember theree were certain courts where guys actually played the game. You had to know where and when they were. This vid shows nothing has changed.
