Thank you for your work! The Story of Civilization has been a real blessing to our family. Listening to the audiobooks is part of what sparked my son’s love for history. Lately he’s been listening to them again. No need to make him study history in our homeschool, he does it on his own!

We are reading your books in my homeschool family. We were sick of the protestant history curriculum and the added stories really highlight the reality of the history and how the church shaped our civilization. My children love to hear the stories. My wife and I each read the chapter so we are all learning it together! As a public school teacher for 30 years, I have never seen a more effective means to teach history. I have used your information in my classes so many times to help highlight the inestimable importance of the church- yes even in a public school. God bless you!

Thank you for this encouraging story! Been studying Catholicism for a little over a year and can really relate to many things here, but I loved the personal elements of your own experiences with Jesus and your vision of the Eucharist at the end was so beautiful.

That was a great story. I was curious but time ran out- How did his parents react to him going back to the Catholic Church?
And I was curious about his relationship with his mom and dad after he had moved out while he was trying to find himself.. and so lost.. I got the feeling that he had a pretty good relationship with his mom and dad, but it was not discussed. Like, Was he going home on weekends checking in with mom and dad etc. I just thought it would be interesting to know a little bit more about the family relationship while he was going through all that. I’m glad he came out OK in the end.

@@mr.campbellexplains First read from your blog in probably 2011. You've taught me many good things. Every so often I still come back as a resource. For example, I went back to what you had written on the Dictatus Papae, after a recent Jay Dyer livestream where he made ignorant claims about it.

Some of his experience he is talking about is very similar to my own experience. My grandfather was a pentecostal pastor. I remembered he invited me to one of the meetings inside their church during the afternoon. At one point everyone started to move like epileptic. I was just looking around with unmoved. Then an older woman got curious with me. She noticed I was not with the Holy Spirit. I mean she knew it because it was my first time there and nothing that was happening there make me move my body or my mouth. She knew I was an unbeliever so she made an effort to get me into the church during this opportunity however I think that the way she did was wrong. She tried to push me. She pointed at me in front of all and she started to say I was in darkness. Then she got close to me and grabbed my hand and started to pull me while she was inviting me to go to the front to do what everyone was doing. I just thought that approach was wrong and disrespectful. My grandfather just remained silent and when we returned to his house we did not talk about what happened.
