Just finished watching this like an hour ago, loved it. I'm working on an ad for my latest novella but after that I'm watching "No longer allowed in another world' then "Why does nobody remember me in this world" hopefully they're as good as this one. The fact that he's the only warrior in a world of magic is going to be interesting. Plus, it gives Kaiju num8 vibes with him wanting to stand next to his friend.

What is interesting also is that This anime is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, the action director of Chainsaw man and the series director of Black Clover anime. He is bringing all of his talented animator friends to work on this show. That's why it's soo well produced.

The fact that Will questioned if he should save the bully really humanized the MC and made him relatable. I'm hyped for episode 2
I haven't seen the preview, went in today blind and I was blown away right off the gate. If they keep up the production value for the whole season this might be one of my favorite shows this season.
The art style and animation had no right being this amazing!
Despite the way he acts in the school part of the episode, this MC has more balls than the last dozen shonen MCs I've seen put together. Calling the girl cute, seriously contemplating the fact that no, he isn't obligated to save the bully and then choosing to do it anyway, and his unwillingness to give up on the impossible grind to get to where he wants to be... I am here for all of it. xD
Well... the most difficult things that shonen MC face is to tell their feeling to someone...
Beating a huge monster is a walk in the park...

not so much...
until now.
What I extra love about it is that he thinks its the most normal thing to do and is probably because of his relation with his childhood friend! Awesome!

Felt like I was watching a movie or something the animation throughout the whole show was elite
I have a lot of respect for Will because of his contemplation whether to save the bully. He is not some kind of reflexive hero-type that rushes out to save everyone. He recognizes that he has the opportunity to turn a blind eye and let the bully who has been making his life hell die, and nobody will say anything. Then he remembers the faith his childhood crush has in him, that he is a better person than most, and Will steps up to be the hero. What an incredible sequence that builds up his character.

The animation is hella smooth kudos to the studio and the same author of Danmachi too
I knew this was gonna be a good one, and it surpassed what I expected in the fight. As for the story I quite like it too and I love how when they showed the title at the end, “Wistoria’s Wand and Sword”, meaning he’s truly gonna shake it up to be the sword that surpasses magic. I also love the brutality in a way, from the bullying, teachers, the fighting, the characters won’t be easy to have their minds changed and then you have the 2 goons get killed. It’s just something about it because it felt so satisfying seeing will just surpass it all in that fight. I can’t wait for more.
I think wand and sword is the relationship between the mage on top of tower and will. I love this show already
Also want to mention how badass Will was with that Greatswod from that minatour or whatever it was.... Gave me Asta vibes when he first got the demon slayer sword.

That doesn't seem like much, but it's weird that it has happened twice, right?
If I understand correctly, the warrior class has become obsolete because magic has dominated the meta ever since those five mages rose up against the celestial powers. So, he essentially has the talent to be a warrior but knows nothing of the concept, so he thinks of himself as a poor mage. As others do as well. Also, it appears that the seal they cast seems to be disintegrating.
It does, doesn't it. I think it is the job of the mage in the tower to maintain the seal.
Well it's spoilery but it gets addressed later on it's also one of the reason why Elfie was chosen and why the Vanders have new members after a period of time so yeah don't wanna go into too much detail.
I just finished the latest chapter of its manga; can't wait for the next one😊😊
That was some of the best animation I've seen THIS YEAR.
This entire episode was CINEMA PEAK. Every movement, every step, every slash with a sword, dodge, even the walking animation was so fucking clean.
BLACK CLOVER IS BACK. Oh, wait... This ain't that show. 🤣
Well, it'll have to do. I've been itching for something similar to Black Clover for a while and this is really awesome. Yoshihara is definitely one of my favourite directors right now. His work on Black Clover even with a shitty schedule was top notch and CSM he could show what he could really do. So to see this episode and have every movement, every cut look so clean with the art being sharp was so amazing.
Will is an interesting character. I see a lot of Asta in him but also he's different as well. The author took inspiration from BC and the like and made his own unique take which I really appreciate. Will has a lot on his hands with no being able to use magic in a world full of it. It's hard for a kid like him to have to go into the dungeon every so often to earn enough credit so je doesn't get expelled. Not only that he got most of the school on him for being a magicless peasent and it's a really great moment that he sat there and continplated whether he wanted to save him or not. It was a good question since that guy was so desperate to get him kicked out and he was so mean to him every time. I honestly don't know what I'd do in his situation. I'm glad he stepped in because he is a good natured person like in the flashbacks and everything and btw... How they do flashbacks and interactions in this show is so good. Between this and Elusive Samurai I don't know which anime is better. I love both.
Anyway, I also like the interactions between that profesor and Will. He seems like he genuinely sees the talent in him to maybe even challenge the magical society here.
This will be an amazing show... I can already feel it in my bones and I loved this first episode 10/10

Now that I see this, I remember hearing a manga recap video about this on RUclips. Things in this story get dark really fast. I look forward to watching this series.

The only anime i was looking forward to this season(read the manga for little bit but barely remember any of it now) and it does not disappoint at all for me
i was stunned at how good this was. i took a flyer on this one and did not regret it whatsoever (only found out later it was by the author of DanMachi). So looking forward to more of this.

This anime is about to be one crazy trip , the animation was stunning , but that fight scene was absolutely insane, I can't wait to learn more about this world and the characters in it!
I was busy recently. I started watching today oh boy. I was entertained. It was Mashle MC, Kaiju No.1 Love interest, and DanMachi dungeon crawling.
In this Video, I discovered it was DanMachi author.
I will watch this if the story moves well and makes sense.

Not gonna lie, some of the scenes were movie like quality. Many are comparing this to Black Clover and Mashle since the MC is similar to theirs.

The animation blew me away. I've been reading the manga and currently at the "Tournament Trope" The manga didn't give me a whole lot of expectations for the anime, at least so far. Only through Vol. 2. anyways. I'm curious if they can keep up the animation quality throughout the entire series.

It’s a mix of Danmachi black clover and mashle magic
Wish Danmachi and Sword Oratoria also get picked up Sword Oratoria especially, Bell's fight scenes in Sword Oratoria is Peak especially against Asterius the revamped version was Godly in the mang, then the battle with Enyo and Nidhogg would be Lit the gacha game made it also epic so hope the Gacha Game also gets an animation doubt it but it's such a good series.
Actually the story is a little bit like Elden Ring where Radahn holds off the invaders from the sky ie the Natural borns of the void and the outer gods literally aliens, it's an inverse of Danmachi's story line where the beast below are being held back until the promised Time ie Titanomachia, Ragnarok, Armageddon etc.
I was going to pass on this one, but now I will give it a shot. :-)
This is the one to watch this season. Just like kaiju no 8 from last season

This new lad was so awesome ive seen the manga. The protagonist was like asta, mash and bell cranel then the plot was kinda like bleach and world trigger.
Slightly less dark then Mashle in the part that they don't kill people without magic, but it seems the school mechanic is the same here. I did enjoy the first episode but it didn't pull me in like DanMachi first episode did. And a big part to that is the school setting.

This is giving some Black Clover vibes with a bit of Mashle. Seeing as this was made by the author of Danmachi we're in for something good. I honestly love these secretly strong underdog MCs, I'm super invested into this 1st episode in So many amazing animes this season, not enough time. animation is 🔥that last scene with his childhood friend had me in awe with how gorgeous it looked.

As someone who used to enjoy danmachi(just got lazy with keeping up, i think i finished s3 just never got to s4) this was in my radar since danmachi author seems to have a knack for writing interesting stuff. And it's minus the stuff I'm not really excited for in danmachi: the stupidass title suggested by an editor, yasuda's gravity defying boobs character designs(corrected by the anime but still kinda annoyed with it i guess. yasuda is also the artist for Durarara, Devil Survivor, etc.)
Strong first episode! Not sure how the animation quality will keep up though not confident with the thoroughness of the studios behind it.
Funny how Will is a nerdy af chara in a Magic School but is actually a warrior class.
Also as you mentioned ep1 really nicely showcased Will's character. Already shaping up to be an interesting main chara.
Oh right random comment about the thumbnail, most peeps I know who like HP say Welcome to Demon School Iruma is the better HP in so many ways. I never touched anything HP so I dunno what they are talking about.

It’s interesting but knowing he’s a warrior, they put him in situations where he’d need a sword; then as soon as he gets it he’s OP. Like the exam with Edward; he knew he needed his sword but told him to do the exam without telling Will to bring his sword, only to immediately lose as Will gets his hands on his sword; which makes you question if will is too OP or is Edward weak for being the closest to a magia vander. Or like when he’s fighting the golems in episode 4. Basically, situations where he’s required to use a sword, he’s unable to because the school doesn’t allow it and keeps giving him a wand to wield knowing he can’t use magic. Also he doesn’t display any of his superhuman capabilities without a sword present so he’s always a laughing stock in front of the students, which is weird. His trope of being a non magic user is kinda lame if you’re just gonna make him look incompetent just because he’s not holding a sword or in a dungeon. Is it the sword, or is he the one that’s strong? If it’s the latter, then he should have been well known for his physical feats already. Unless he’s purposely acting incompetent in front of the students,m; then the question is to what end since it doesn’t seem like he needs to hide the fact that he’s insanely strong. Just a convenient excuse to make him surprise everyone later I guess. And since everyone’s hair color is in direct correlation to their respective element, I’m guessing his grey hair was foreshadowing to his hidden magic potential. 🤷🏽♂️ is good apart from those issues.

Such a great starting episode of a promising show. As I really loved the setting and concept of a society. Where magic is the way to social mobility and standing. As if you cannot cast magic you belong in the street basically.
And seeing how this is written by the same author as Danmachi. It surely is looking good for more wonderful world building to flesh out this world further. Also a few bonus point for this being a pure fantasy show and not an isekai as most are nowadays.
But I also really liked the protagonist Will, especially when he thought about leaving the bully to die. As that made him feel more real and relatable then you typical goodie two shoes. Then I also like how he is not shy around the ladies, and he is able to tell them how he feels. So in other words he sure has some rizzes and is a chad

A Harry Potter, Danmachi, and Mashle mix. Show itself was well put together. Animation pretty expressive and detailed... then the fight happens!
I'm in! Hopefully it can maintain the quality and story and not drop off like that Spellblades one from a few seasons back.

After watch this episode, I feel that this anime is going to be treated as an underrated series.
You have to consider that too many people are going to realize (unless your a die hard anime fan in general),
that its the same author who produced Danmachi. Hopefully not too may people will sleep on this series.
I really enjoyed the premise that in a society like this, with a background that is proving that Magic is the
one true king of this world, and rightfully so, doesn't realize that without magic, what will they do??
In fact, the battle against a monster that was not suppose to exist on a particular floor, was fighting against
a spellcaster, that is 10x more powerful than our MC, in both basic and advanced spell casting, was literally
placed in a situation in which his allies were already beaten, killed, or escaped, while his magical attacks was being
thwarted, ignored, and resisted. In fact, he most likely never experienced what real combat is like. You can literally
see and fell the fear in his body language and his facial expressions. But once physical combat came into play, it
showed the faults of magic if that is your only option, and on top of that, the inexperience showed if placed in a life
and death situation.
Its becoming one of my favorite series. But of course, Danmachi still holds a place in my heart.
Really looking forward to the next episode, and see where it will take up from there.

this feel like a more serious anime comparing it to danmachi. Not that danmachi was not serious but this has a vibe of him hitting his more edgy side and less of his down to earth comedy he slip in in danmachi

I am going blind watching this show, at first i thought it would be just a generic anime fantasy judging from the cover but damn i was wrong.
The art kind of reminds me of the art that Dragon Raja has, it just looks really sharp and well done. I thought the plot sounded cool and the production value just elevated it even further. I hope the quality stays the same the whole season
My black clover fix is fixed
This show needs Chinook helicopters. Eventually, Will will take down a really big monster maybe a dragon. Like Gate, those helicopters will be needed to airlift the head to the courtyard.
So, the premise is similar to Mashle: Magic and Muscles or even Welcome to Demon School! Iruam-Kun. I miss the old battle-school genre of anime like High School DxD, Infinite Stratos, Asterisk War, etc.
the only flaw of Wistoria is its only currently got 43 chapters out. great read, but man it was over quick.

It was alright. To me it is just another fantasy anime with the same tropes as usual. A MC with no apparent skills, a cute girl who defens him, a childhood friend with a promise and other students who put him down. All stuff we have seen so many times.
This show is basically Black Clover but with better writing.
First of all, this show is absolutely beautiful! Second, the MC is basically Toji from JJK mixed with Kafka from Kaiju No 8.
Already seen lotsa MCs that uses Phy. ATKs/Sword in a magical world... why can't they just make a Harry Potter with guns... OHHH right... there already are called Arifureta and that eternal Lv1 Dude nm... 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂

What's the whole point in using Magic when certain or all monsters in this world is 100% resistant to magic. If the whole school believes in that ridiculous notion that Magic is far superior to actual Strength is about to have a rude awakening. Lets just say a raid boss attempts to destroy the school much like how Voldemort destroyed Hogwarts and every student uses magic on it then it's just going to bounce off and have no effect on it. It will easily demolish that whole school in no time at all and kill everyone in it's path. However if they spent all of their time in building up actual strength then they may have a fighting chance for survival but due to these elitist morons "teacher included" thinking they are better than everyone else that has no affinity to magic, well they will all be shown humility much like that moron did in this episode. I am quite surprised on this show already and it has potential but since I have such a strong attachment to Danmachi the way I feel about it is this. Can it surpass my expectations. Judging from the 1st episode it's off to a great start and I can't wait to see how it goes on from here.
