Season 4 by far has been The Best season of Danmachi. Watching Bell & Ryu survive The Juggernaut was one of the most intense moments in the series. Not to mention learning about Ryu's past. 👨🏻🦳🧝🏻♀️🙆🏿♂️🙆🏻♀️

S4 was so-so for me, sometimes it felt like the pacing was set to snail speed, sometimes it was ok. I don't have anything bad to say about the fights and a lot of the Bell & Ryu progression parts, but I found myself fast-forwarding a lot of Ryu's flashbacks of her old clan... A bunch of girls sitting in a fancy house and having abstract philosophical debates felt like a reality show I wouldn't bother to watch...

My guess is we will zoom through volume 16 and spend a moderate time on 17 then the meat and potatoes of volume 18. Which really sucks because all of these volumes have so much to them that is most likely gonna get skipped. Then volume 18 will basically become Dragon ball with multi episode fights, several fights at once that they will cut back and fourth from. And if they dont do it well then it could be a very annoying sequence.

I think anime was great from the start, season 2 and 3 had better and worse parts but in general I enjoy it. Sword oratoria spin off is nice and Artemis movie made me cry. Idk why I only got to start watching season 4 now but quality wise it seems better than 3 and season 5 is coming out now so it's the best time.

With only Volume 19 out and no sign of Volume 20 in site. So enjoy this last season of Danmachi. Unless the decide to do some of the Side stories. But since they messed up SO. I doubt it.

Since he said Danmachi was going to be around 20 volumes long and less than a years time in world. The next Arc should be the final one, so he may take his time with it. Unless he’s changed his mind. I think we are around the 3/4 year mark by the end of volume 19. The end of season 4 (volume 15) was close to 6 months I think.
To be fair, Ais' backstory and character development happen almost exclusively in Sword Oratoria... And I think some of it comes from DanMemo too, but I haven't touched the metric ton of lore they dropped there so I'm not sure how much of hers comes from there. I think Sword Oratoria is 100% worth picking up for anyone interested in Danmachi, tbh. The vast majority of the world building in Danmachi is told in Sword Oratoria. For anyone interested specifically in Ais' backstory, you'd want to read volume 9 of SO. One could argue Sword Oratoria tells the story of the world of Danmachi (along with DanMemo, which you can find on youtube), while the Danmachi light novels and anime are laser focused on the hero that'll be essential to saving that world.
If I remember right: LN 17 onwards, which is season 5 of Danmachi, also goes over Aiz’s personal struggles a bit, which was set up at the end of Ln 16, which I believe, was right after Ryuu basically outs herself as a Bell stand. I didn’t get to read through all of LN 18, and presumably, they’re going into the school arc, so I’m kinda pumped for it, especially since I didn’t get to read all of it, and after the events of next season, it’s probably for the best. (Also because of that, I don’t remember/know if Bell ever had problem with the new arm, after LN 16c which would make sense, but it has been a bit, and I don’t remember :/ )
What I find crazy about Bell is that it's been less than half a year since the events of the first season up to to the forth season meaning Bell literally levels up by the month😂
I just hope we get the monster guys back again. That arc in season 3 was the only time I actually got invested because he couldn’t solve everything with his Deus Ex Machina move.
Nah, they got this far and this season is a guaranteed hit. They'll adapt the whole thing. The issue is, with this season we'll pretty much catch up to the light novel - it'll adapt volumes 16 17 and 18, and the latest release was volume 19 in september 2023. So... next season will probably be in like 2027 lol 🥲 edit: the author _can_ churn up LN volumes at a surprising clip, but dude is simultaneously writing Danmachi, Sword Oratoria, and Wistoria. He's doing like 3+ books a year lol it's kind of insane, even if Danmachi and Sword Oratoria go hand in hand (and Wistoria takes a ridiculous degree of inspiration from Danmachi)
As a LN reader, I would like to correct about Liaris freese. Bell's LF is fueled by his love for Ais. Not related with him wanting to become stronger. His character motivations are to reach Ais level (and confess to her), justice for Xenos and his rival Asterius.
Interesting enough, all of bell's members of his familia relate to religious undertones with each flaw being a sin. Lilly greed, Welf pride, Mikoto sloth and Haruhime technically lust albeit kind of a joke.
