Interesting enough Crunchyroll does a mistranslation because when this dude Cry/Kri makes his clan name, the real title is even more cringe. Their clan name is not Grieving Souls, it's actually called "Strange Grief" which I think fits so much better when you find out the personalities the rest of the main members. it's like a team of griefers. LOL. I know Crunchyroll when making the English title was trying to be punny by making the clan name tie in with the english title of the anime, but it actually destroys the actual joke of "Strange Grief".

This is hilarious to watch others think that it was all acording to some master plan to make them stronger but in reality he just did read the mission properly and pushed the job he did not want to others. Now in order to save them he will become a crash test dummy/human rocket with that relic that does not work propely and use shit ton of buff relics to obsorb the damage.
He's probably going to save the day by accident and the vice commander will most likely send reinforcements as well as his bag of tricks. He does have that war-crime level relic on him still, so...
It's really funny how everyone believes in Krai only when he's doing ridiculous bullshit and not at all when he's being honest about himself LOL, such a surprisingly fun show and I'm looking forward for more of Krai's shenanigans! 😂
I think this show has a little bit of Ossan/Parry everything when the MC doesn’t realize how strong he is. I think when he kicked the sword to ignite it and it’s larger than anyone has seen might be a tease for later on. I think MC is powerfully but so lazy that he has pushed jobs to everyone else that he doesn’t even realize how strong he is.

Another minor appeal is that there is a lot of fantasy anime/manga now that start with a MC getting kicked out of the party. This one subverts that by just having his party genuinely care for him and are loyal to each other. The look on Tino's face when telling Gilbert worship Krai was better than how i pictured it reading the light novel. In case you ever want to read it, there is currently 12 light novels worth of material.
'We've got something special on our hands' literally me after watching this episode, this was such a big surprise for me, I wouldn't have watched if I didn't usually check out most anime every season. It really has potential and I hope it continues its momentum. This and Mechanical Arms have been the biggest surprise for me this season.
What also funny that purpesly made a name of his clan cringy so nobody would take them seriously and gasslighted his friends to accept. But it backfired and now they are best guild and they won't allow he to leave since he their leader and they think he is strongest.
A so called AntiHero who leaves behind a bag full of weapons and support items to fight Bad Guys is a very Deadpool thing to do. Oh wait this MC did just that. He acts like to me how Jack Sparrow is and how he weasels his way out of every situation by slipping out the backdoor and he is already a lovable idiot and I am rooting for him.

Well one thing they did show us this episode is that he seems to be a master at controlling artifacts. And having the Masayuki status of Chosen Hero this second episode sure made up my mind that this is going to be a very enjoyable watch.
He most likely relied on crazy artifact to keep up with his team and avoid dying. Which most not be a normal skill giving to what happen with the sword

My jaw dropped when we see the flashback of his friends declaring him the strongest - his friends set him up!!! That's foul!!! 🤣👌 3. Krai has illegal and dangerous material just on hand & is obsessed with relics. How did he even get these?!?! 😭 4. It's interesting how Krai mentioned Tino gained level 4 solo unlike Gilbert, so it is a whole party can gain exp sorta thing? Is that how he's a level 8??? 5. My prediction: Tino & the others ultimately resolve things without violence & it'll be due to some nonsense Krai told her a while ago. Krai arrives as they achieve vicctory.

After watching ep 1, I read the manga so I'm up to date with story. It seriously gives Cid vibes. Krai is weaker compared to his childhood friends but he is able to compensate due to his hobby 😅 The only new shows that really peaked my interest is this and Dandadan.

THE PARTY MEMBERS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SURPRISES. You're supposed to anticipate seeing what they're like and what they look like. Entire arcs are centered around the reader not knowing the party members! UGH!
