Hello from Newark California I’m a Bay Area resident I love your channel you have very useful information on your channel I’m a big Makita fan and watch your vlogs every time I see a new Makita tool 🤙🏽.
You're legitimately questioning your sanity - so everything's o.k., as you've retained the ability to be introspective, so no need to have yourself committed.
Ordered the new makita recip saw kit and made sure to buy the adaptor for the 18v because I carry the high torque lxt impact wrench and a drill in my work truck
I bought a few Milwaukee tools this past year, but grabbed a Makita circular saw and multi-tool because of a great sale. Now that I've used both, overall I'm liking Makita.
@Tools & Stuff. Thanks for the review of the XGT 40V dual bay rapid charger. I agree with you that Makita has their act together with the design of their chargers. Makita has always kitted with rapid chargers and fan cools the batteries to keep them cooler. Even their dual port chargers are simultaneous rapid chargers with fan cooling of the batteries. Dewalt is the worse when it comes to the number of different chargers they sell and rarely kits any of their tools with a rapid charger. And if you have any Dewalt 20V max batteries (2AH) with no fuel gauge, NONE of their tools have a fuel gauge. At least some Makita tools have a fuel gauge so I can check the remaining charge on my older 18V LXT batteries with no fuel gauge (mostly 3AH). Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
Let’s not forget, Dewalt ships kits with the world’s shittiest 2 amp charger. Milwaukee ships kits with pretty shit chargers as well. I was floored by this.
Ive had a few issues with my 40v double charger, doesnt always want to charge my 40v batteries. Sometimes the battery will red light me in one port but then if you swap it to other port charges fine.
Ahhh! Can’t believe you beat me to the upload. I ordered one of these back in December and it came in the second week of January. Wanted to do my first RUclips video on it but got busy. I’ll check if we have the same features and report back. It may help if I knew how to upload😳
bolt down points! HOLY BAT, F***MAN! I'm shocked, all those years of opening up the charger so I can screw it to a sheet of ply, I thought they'd never change. Wow!
I'ma go ahead and complain that regardless of the tool type, Makita seems to tack on close to $100 extra for XGT over LXT instead of some sliding scale that would make sense. And since sales on XGT are basically nonexistent, that's often closer to $150. Which doesn't scale well. New battery, new voltage, new chargers - okay I hear ya. Every tool that much more, even small ones? And still usually made in China? When holidays rolled around and there were almost zero XGT sales or specials, I felt like it was Makita even acknowledging XGT isn't "Makita" Makita.
I'm going to complain that Americans get all these tools far cheaper than anyone else on earth, including Japan, and yet they moan about the price far more than anyone else. 😉
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL I'm not moaning about prices, and I do tend to agree with you. We do get some pretty good sale prices on certain tools throughout the year and except for this past Christmas we usually get some great buys around Christmas. I decided to get into the 40v makita platform last year when Acme had 20% off and 2 weeks ago when ToolNut did the same. Every tool I bought they had no stock but they did allow me to purchase and are gradually rolling into the shop now. The tracksaw kit arrived yesterday. Tools only , there is very little price difference between the 18v and 40v tracksaw, I chose it totally because I dont want to have to use dual 18v batteries and 40v seemed the logical choice for me. Once they get sufficient stock in US I think we might start seeing some sales on 40v tools, or will wait til places have 20% off unless its something we really need badly.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL Agree... I've never lived in the US but based on what I can see those Americans have so many tool deals happening all the time. In my country, you almost always pay for the full price... In my situation, I mostly buy from the few same tool retailers, they're familiar with me so I get slightly reduced prices, sometimes a few free bits included with purchases, but nothing close to the tool deals going on in the US
I'm going to complain about having loads of 18v batteries and not wanting them to be useless if I move over to 40v tools but damn the 40v tools are nice
The trade off for the level of air cooling with Makita are much larger chargers. How much of an advantage in longevity are we getting for the additional cooling? Rapid charging itself takes a toll
Australia I love all tools&stuff and builds&stuff videos looking forward to all your videos to come. Can you please add locations to the beautiful scenes in the start of the videos
People are going to complain about using an adapter. And then they're going to complain about having multiple batteries that don't work with all their tools. They'll always find something to complain about. Hell, XGT could be only high demand tools like large cut off saws, coring drills, etc. and people would still complain about it not being LXT.
@@robertrada4783 Personally, I'm going to complain about the Makita counterparts of the rocket lights not being able to run off of AC, and the lack of certain tools having AC and charging capabilities built in. The sacrifices I make for nice tools and that upcoming 8Ah XGT batt.
We got about 5 or 6 of these into the United States this month and they sold out as quickly as you’d imagine. I was pretty irked they weren’t available from day one, but XGT life is a bit different than x2 LXT life. So, I survived. 😁
