Been selling the same goggles for 10+ years you’d think the price would drop eventually. The tubes themselves cost around $16K, and that’d be for the best tubes, why would I pay $24K for just a housing.
They would probably not be within most people's grasp even if they dropped the price to a more reasonable sum. But I do agree that you're right. They should drop the price. They are definitely not worth $42,000. That is absurd. Even if the tubes were worth $5,000 - $6,000 each, which they aren't... that leaves $22,000 - $18,000 for the housing and the battery pack. No way does that make sense. The numbers don't add up. L3 HARRIS MX10160 Gen 3, white phosphor filmless tubes should run about $3,500 - $4,000 each. The housing and battery pack... I haven't got a clue how much it costs but there is no way it should be 10, 15, 20+ thousand dollars. TNVC and other retailers selling the GPNVG18 aren't doing the commercial market any favors for sure. Robbery
The opposite. There's a reason why no one wears these on night-long ops. These are for dropping on the x and getting out. Humping in you want some good ol dual tubes

@@MrBrandon2779 yeah I knew they were stupid expensive. I remember a while back seeing something like that on Optics Planet, probably an older gen. for like mid 30's.
Oh good. Instead of finding a way to be inovative like pretty much every other industry on the planet, the night vision industry has chosen to go the HVAC contractor route and use snake oil coupled with some stupid federal law to guarantee business. Instead of using electron bombarded CMOS sensors and LCD screen the industry just purchased the technology so they can now hang not one or two but four CRT displays off of someones face. Yes you got it. They are CRT displays. Just like those big TVs that you now have to PAY a recycling center to take because the technology is so old.
And on top of that they want 43k for them. Fuck the night vision industry. I’m convinced the government is making them keep prices high to keep them out of civilian hands.
These cost as much as a new car....
Way better then a new car too ;")
kaiii guerra+ I don’t think you can drive night vision goggles.
The Open Minded Truth Seeker I’d rather walk now thinking about it
About $60,000
More like two brand new cars it’s 42 000$ before taxes

Have to refinance your house if you want them though
Those have to be so light. I only ever used 1 nvg at a time and the helmet was so front heavy
yeah they're only like 1.5 lbs but the battery pack on the back acts as a counterweight.

Really concerned for that expensive GPNVG being turned on in a bright area like that. Won't the lights damage the intensifier tubes?
For that price point, I'm 100% sure each tube is Auto-Gated
He also has his lens caps on too
With that price point, I'm 100% sure each tube is Auto-Gated
it has lens filters on, basically sunglasses for the lens that limmits the light actually hitting the tube
Does anyone know what cpas these are
They are light filters. The environment is too bright. If you turn them on in that much light, you will ruin the image sensors.
