Does this increase HP even on a stock tune? Or is this really just something to compliment mods such as a heat exchanger? Install looks easy to me, I’m not much of a circuit track racer or Dragway person Just wondering if this is mostly a mod to keep temps down from consistent pulls Or a mod that can make power due to air being denser from being more ambient or cold I guess
I have these on my Q, you may gain a few ponies with these but they are more of an end stage complimentary mod for an FBO car. I graphed out the differences in CAT on my car and with the stock coolers id see about a 15-17deg rise in CAT over a full qtr pass with these im only seeing 9-10deg rise. The only real thing that will be effective on a circuit track car is an A2A setup because the A2W needs constant airflow to actually cool down and not heatsoak.
@@sameoldmo I couldn’t get the cover to fit at all, even with the new pins. It kept popping off. For some reason the left intercooler sits a bit higher then suppose to.
Can't wait for mishimoto made water to air intercooler for 1KD-FTE top mount intercooler OEM replacement

We were able to produce power gains of up to 8 HP and 12 lb.-ft of torque without a retune

Did you drain the system first, And then added new coolant once every thing was done?
Yes, we did, however, you may be able to get away with topping it off afterwards.
I'll just do it the right way and have a peace of mind. Thanks for the help y'all.
did you need to re-bleed the coolant system or just top off?
It would be a great idea to bleed the system to be sure all air is removed from the system.
What If u got a BOV kit already installed?
This will not fit directly with aftermarket BOVs.
Does the engine cover just go on there without any modifications? Someone said you need some adapters to help it sit higher - is this true?
As mentioned in the description of the video - "Fits with stock engine cover using included spacers"
@@mishimoto Thank you, I look forward to purchasing these and adding to my car soon! :) I already have your HX and its awesome!
@@roshang9073how was installing that?

@@roshang9073 I appreciate the feedback sliming my options down
i know a tune would benefit as any other modification, but can you run them with out one?
A tune is not required.
