Oh man!!!! I got this video on VHS when I was a kid as a Christmas present. I forget who put them out. I think it was through Sporty's pilot shop. I got one for the F-18 as well. Damn that was a long time ago. So cool to see this again though.
Cassette for quick mission file loading, big MFD with TV capability and LANTIRN. These things were luxury for most Russian Flankers and Fulcrums in early 90's.
@@pratiks3796 Lmao F16's has been shooting down Mig 21's and mig 29's in europe and middle east, it stands 72 air to air kills with 0 losses, that f16 that was downed in pakistan was a friendly fire when an AIM-9L switched lock onto a wingman, and when the news spread the indian air force tried to take the credit for it, which theres no evidence that any migs shot it.
Kinda neat to see a video all the way back from like 1984 going over the systems of the F-16C. The one in this video looks to be a Block-25, since it's got the small intake and PW100 engine (as well as using cassettes for flight, combat, weapons, and navigation data). Still, it's really neat to see
@cribster123 I would recommend F4 BMS, there are a few things that aren't available but you can do everything from AA, AG, even messing with the DTC, and do anything that you can find in any video or find in any publicised instructions.
if you want even more realism added to the falcon 4.0 sims. wire actual toggle switches, rotaries, buttons, etc etc. It makes the game so much more immersive. I recently built a cockpit based on this sim and its a ton more fun. Not as expensive as one may think.
It's not bold - Falcon 4.0 with the later addon mods like RV, OF or AF is the most detailed and copmlete study sim (f16 or otherwise) you can obtain on the PC.
@cribster123 its actuilly by far diffrent then any other flight simulator, but ofcourse there are things that arent working there some classified things, but in open falcon nearly most of the bottums have some effect
yes, it like he say. I've falcon 4.0 allied force too, and i think that his realism is very immersive. One of the best simulators in the world, in my opinion. If you use falcon 4.0 allied force in a serious community you can enjoy very well ^^ bye
@cribster123 Well, if you're looking for F-16 sim even more realistic than F 4.0 AF you should try an Open Falcon 4.7 - almost every single switch/button in F-16's cockpit is modelled ingame to fulfill it's function ;)
@GhostFight3r F4AF is not too realistic, if you need realism you need Falcon 4 BMS 4.32!!! or Open Falcon 4.7 (this is addon for Falcon 4) For AF version is only one addon: FreeFalcon aka Red Viper whitch changing some thing in avionics too. So all Falcon 4 series simulators are not 100% realistic. So better avionics in Falcon 4 series have Falcon BMS 4, Allied Force have the poorest avionics in Falcon 4 series. EDIT: BMS 4.33 is actual version as for 2017. It includes so many improvements.
F4, even OF is not 100% realistic, it has about 50-60% of the real jet's avionics (which is still a lot, of course). Still it's the best sim out there IMO. And no, you can't have the crew chief recharge the JFS bottles in Falcon.
It's hilarious, even back then we were "half truthing" on the F-16. 60 Second start up is absolute horse crap. You're looking at a minimum of 4 Minutes to 4 minutes and 30 seconds for complete startup to taxi.
It seems like a lot of companies like to over-inflate those stats. I have a feeling Northrop was very much lying when it came to the F-20's startup, taxi, and time to altitude under intercept conditions. Either way, it is a rather neat video
Sometimes I forget how old the F-16C is. The USAF has pretty much been using the same jet for 30+ years with incremental upgrades over the decades.
Who’s here before the DCS F-16?

Alot of that footage was digitized for the takeoff videos for Falcon 3.0 :)

Good to see the guy on Office Space left that construction job and became a fighter pilot.

What is the main documentary name? Obviously it's a part of a longer video...Oldie but Goodie! ;)
Worked on the block 30 and block 40 love the jet
40 plus years ago and it’s totally relevant

They use cockpit recordings from the 1989 libyan mig incident involving the F-14, not the F-16. Just found that a little interesting lol.
I wish the DCS block 50 Viper had Terrain Following Radar
I concur... BMS is like flying the real thing (not an F-16 pilot in anyway) but close to DCS.
The user ultranovato has a longer ten minute version of this video. See his profile, it is the same video.
is there mechanical memory or sheets of paper in this giant memory box ?
