Thanks So much all your beautiful and instructive explanations. I was going to get that sodium lactate too!! But for know I have to make my own..its been so hard in Nashville.. Here too..
I'm having to go in to the hospital bcuz of a broken leg and hip..cant walk at all I've been wearing mask and gloves since MARCH. Lol God Bless this Mess..
Hello, Margie, I also grew up in Washington, Omak to be precise, on a very small farm in the 40's and 50's. I remember the winters there were pretty much snowy and walking on top of snow that was a foot high was such a thrill for me. Of course I was a little girl then and didn't weigh very much. One winter we had such a blizzard and I remember Daddy had to walk 5 miles to get to work at the Safeway store in Omak. He put a box with a slit to see through on his head and walked all that way in blizzard y weather . Bless his heart he was an honest man and a very hard worker. One day he walked home from a neighbor (neighbors didn't live close) bringing a Jersey cow along with him. She was a beautiful cow and gave us lots of milk. How I miss those days !
I just came across your site and saw your beautiful soap, watched your video and thought that your soap was very striking, that black was just what your bar needed! So beautiful! And just the right amount of color. I have subscribed to your website and will be looking forward to watching for even more of your work. In the meantime I will watch some of your other videos. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. Peggy
Hi Peggy 👋
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful story! ❤️ I've had my life turned upside-down 😥 My beloved darling husband, John, passed away on September 2023 from a massive heart attack 💔 😢 I'm still in disbelief as I'm taking one day at a time. I did make a few batches of soap this week which I hadn't done so for 6 months. I'm hoping to resume making videos soon. 😊
Thank you for subscribing to Ladybug Lane Soaps channel. 😁
Oh, Margie I'm so very sorry to hear about John, your lovely husband. It hurts, I know. I hope that you have family close by and good friends who care and are supporting you. All we can do is take one day at a time as you say. The nights are lonely, I'm sure and when you wake up in the morning everything for a moment is normal but then it hits you, John is gone. Things will never be the same. It's OK to grieve because that is very normal. When my twin brother died (only 20 years old) in a car accident, he lived only 3 days, I couldn't believe that he was gone from us. I still hurts because I loved him so much. The more you love someone the more it hurts when they go from us. I wanted to tell the whole world that he was gone and what a special brother he was but the world just kept going on. Didn't they know that I just lost a very loving brother? But, of course, they didn't, how could they. Nor did they care, which is normal. But I was young and hurting. Please accept my sincere sorrow, dear Margie, your friend, Peggy@@LadybugLaneSoaps
That is a work of art. Just gorgeous.
A very pretty soap. Très élégant !
Ooh I love the soap 🥰🥰🥰
This coronavirus thing is insane isn’t it :( here in Tasmania Australia we have had 7 cases so far with no deaths 🙌 but some people are going crazy buying up and leaving the supermarket shelves mostly bare 😩 they’ve put restrictions on what we can buy now and the amounts. No schools etc have closed only evens where there will be 500 plus people and every person who flies or boats in now needs to self quarantine for 2wks. Fingers crossed this horrible virus passes ASAP!!!
Lyndal Hildebrand hi fellow Tasmanian I love Lady Bug Lane soapery. And Margie of course
Possibly one of the most beautiful soaps I've ever seen.
Thank you Alana for your sweet words! :)
Beautiful soap! Thank you for sharing your childhood story! Made me laugh and smile! Blessed Be!
What a gorgeous colour combination and soap - wishing you and your family staying safe during this crisis
Thank you! You too!
Loved hearing you story from the past of your Sunday drives. That's cool you have a twin sister. I bet you had an awesome childhood. Your soap is beautiful 💕
-Shonna
Hello dearest! Always nice to have you stop by! :) I was very fortunate to live on a farm. Moved from the big city of Seattle to Hobart when I was 10. They best childhood I could have ever imagined. Take care & hugs xxx
Love to watch soap making videos-the music and the swirls of the soap are so relaxing and help me forget about the troubles in the world but I get sad and anxious listening to your covid updates! Just music please!!
Thank you for your kind words Julie. That video seems like a long time ago when I made it. A lot going on during that time. Sorry you were uncomfortable with the Covid crap. 🥴
Such beautiful soap making ❤❤❤
That's hysterical about the cows cow-tailing it after hearing your dad's car back fire. Thanks for sharing that and giving me a good chuckle.
Beautiful, I think the copper penny is just perfect God bless you through these next week's. Stay safe.😊
Thank you! You too!

Thank you! Happy 4th of July 🇺🇲
Congratulations on your New 6000 subscribers won't be long until your hitting 7000. I love the sound of this fragrance and the colours are perfect. Beautiful swirls. Please stay healthy.
We have heard about the aged home losing their patients. I have been left without internet and the Company shut down before it was fixed. Late at night I'm able to log in to Utube with my data as I can't miss my Utube soapy videos.
Such a sophisticated looking bar!
Bless your heart :) Thank you so much for visiting my channel! Take care & hugs xxx
Margie, I have been thinking about you and was hoping all is well. The virus is supposed to peak in 2 weeks and hopefully all is downhill from there. My daughter lives 30 miles away and she is sick and has to stay home. She was neg. For strep and flu, but since they are not testing for the virus, unless you are elderly, here. Her doctor gave her antibiotics and told her to stay home from work (road crew). She just has bad sore throat, no fever. Nothing! Wierd
On a better note: congratulations! on 6K. It just seems like not very long ago, you were starting! It started snowing here last night, still snowing. I had just found that very same Sodium Lactate on Amazon, day before yesterday and it is a good deal. I always use it in my soap. 👍.
Blessings and good health to you and yours ☺
Oh, this is a gorgeous soap!! Those colours are splendid :-)
Thank you so much Gwen! 😊
Thank you!
Some of these the swirls make me think of long-tailed dragons in flight! Beautiful! Congratulations on 6k!! I remember watching you before 3k even (on my personal channel)! Please stay safe and healthy, Margie! 💜💜
Beautiful turn out. I love how you textured the top! Very unique. =)
This soap turned out so beautiful. I love how the top turned out too. I'm just a little South of you in Washington State. Very scary times. I really look forward to your videos. I'm definitely soaping today. Thank you! ~Julie
I am a soaper southwest of Olympia, Wa. We are all practically neighbors!
Beautiful!!!
I know I am late to seeing this video. Soap looks great. And its nice to see another Washingtonian. 🙂
Hi 👋 Where aer you at? Thank for stopping by 😊
@@LadybugLaneSoaps Maple Valley 🙂
@@wildmagnoliasoaps Oh my gosh! I grew up in Hobart! Went to Tahoma High School! 😀
@Ladybug Lane Soaps I heard you say that in the video. I moved to Maple Valley about 3 years ago. I grew up in Burien and Federal Way. So glad I moved here. ❤️❤️❤️
What a beautiful man’s soap! Subscribed!
Thank you very much! Wishing you a wonderful 2021! :)
I too am a soap maker in WA state,, does our state have the right to claim most soapers in one state? I admire your courage in doing videos. As youtube videos were a big part of my research in learning how to make soap I want make some soaping videos to encourage others and pay it forward so to speak. Keep up the great work (we might be kindred spirits I too am a writer, unpublished in my case but hey)
Love the way this turned out! and your commentary is funny :)
Wow it looks so good
Very beautiful!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
❤thanks
Congratulations!! Great job
Thank you so much 😀
Great video. New subscriber. I’m new at soap making. Having a hard time with fragrance throw. Thank you for sharing ✨🌿✨🌿
Welcome and I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and for watching the video! :)
So let me ask you a few things about what could be going on with your fragrance issue.
About how much fo are you putting in per pound of oils? If you are using half the maximum usage rate then the fo will be faint. Each company/supplier lists a max usage rate for wash off products like cold process soap. Using a higher amount would not be safe for your skin. I have read so many complaints from reviewers saying that a fo is hardly detectable when they use 1/4 to 1/2 the amount required. It all depends upon the type of fo too. Some of the "softer delicate" ones need to be used at the given max %/usage rate, while others are a blast in the face and may be fine to use less without ending up with a faded scent after the soap cures.
I'm curious as to what fragrances you are having trouble with. Please send me a private message on my Facebook page at Ladybug Lane Soaps and I'd be more than happy to continue this thread further. Take care and have a good week! Hugs xxx Margie
This looks amazing, I must try this.
Thank you! 💗 😊
The soap is beautifull!! But The amount of FO they put in the US is shocking. Here in EU the max allowed is 3% ONLY
It isn't that the products in the U.S. use a shocking amount of fragrance oils--it's all about what is skin safe according to the IFRA rates. This article is very informative. Thank you for watching the video! :)
nurturesoap.com/blogs/soap-making-rules/how-to-read-ifra-rates-for-fragrance-oils#:~:text=Fragrance%20oil%20in%20soap%20should%20generally%20be%20used,guidelines%20for%20that%20particular%20fragrance%20to%20avoid%20irritation.
I enjoy your videos thank you for sharing
You are so welcome! :)

It is and often, or in my case at all that I see another soaper who is also a writer. So I had to subscribe, Look forward to hearing more about your book And I hope to finish mine by the end of 2021. I enjoyed the video!
Thanks for the sub! And yes, at the moment I'm editing another chapter of my historical romance book. Garden, writing, soaping. Garden, writing, soaping. LOL
Wow wonderful
Thank you so much :)
Hi, thank you for sharing this beautiful video, i tried several times but my solution becomes thicker, so i can't make swirl properly, what to do?
Waiting for your kind response.
Anwar
How do you get the soap to have that thick creamy texture so that you can design the tops.
So pretty.
Thank you Diane! I hope your summer is going well and that you're healthy. Hugs xxx
I loved the video!! Glad to see a soap for men! How did you learn how to make soap?
Thank you for watching the video Estela! I learned a lot by reading tons of good information online about the process of how to make soap and just as important, I studied and studied all the different kinds of oils and butters and what each contributes in a bar of soap. As I taught myself I gathered the supplies I needed until I felt I was ready, and on October 1, 2016 I made my first batch of soap! :)
This soap is beautiful , looks like cheesecake lol
Thank you so much Kesha! I hope you are doing well :) Thank you for stopping by.
Your videos a re so nice. I hope to try this recipe. I did subscribe. Thanks.
Thank you for watching the video and for subscribing! 😊
Just subscribed
I love this scent
Thank you for stopping by and for subscribing! My family loves that fragrance too 😊
tyvm
You're welcome 🙂
Beautiful soap! I would like to know how far down you inserted the hanger tool to get this result? Was it all the way to the bottom or just the upper half?
Probably both. That was a while ago. Sorry for the late response but this just appeared in my feed. Thank you for having stopped by!
Margie
superbe
Does the sodium lactate go in the oils or the lye solution?
Thank you for stopping by to watch the video! 😊 I've generally added it to the cooled lye solution. However, on a few occasions I've forgotten and had to add it to the batter. 😊
Please leave a link if the romance novels are available from Amazon!
Good morning! Here's the link and thank you for your interest! GOODNIGHT ELEANOR www.amazon.com/Goodnight-Eleanor-Margie-Bayer/dp/0997041811 THE KILLDEER SONG www.amazon.com/Killdeer-Song-Margie-Bayer/dp/099704182X
I want to win!!!
Is that a wire hanger ?
Hi Tiff! It is a plastic coated wire. I wouldn't use a wire in the raw soap batter as the sodium hydroxide could very well interact with the metal. Bramble Berry sells them for $5.95 each, but you might be able to find something similar at a hardware store. Thank you so much for watching the video! Hugs xxx www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/tools-and-accessories/tools/hanger-swirl-tool/V001059.html
If she would talk about she is doing rather than gossiping about the virus, this video would be better.
Chris, if you had actually listened to what I was saying about what was starting to happen in my state of Washington, you would have heard that I was INFORMING the viewer of our situation here. There is a BIG difference between GOSSIPING and being INFORMED. Definition of the word INFORMED: 'based on an understanding of the facts of the situation.' Definition of the word GOSSIPING: 'casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as being true.' By the way, although I am a "she" I go by the name of Hostess for the Mostess, Ladybug Lane Soaps, and Margie. Lastly, you would benefit from familiarizing yourself with a dictionary if you insist on using such verbiage.
Oh, please VictoriaBailey153. do be kind. She probably needed to talk about coved. It was a very stressful time for all of us. We need to be considerate of others and love one another.
You lost me talking about corona.. such a farce
Beautiful. Ps. Keep chatting u r fine
Thank you, I will
Beautiful soap!
Thank you so much Laurie! I appreciate you stopping by my channel to watch the video! Please consider subscribing to this channel and thank you for your kind words! Hugs xxx
