    Great, slick professional lighting set-up for two person interview. Thanks for sharing. Ur description, very clear! Like how u capitilized on the two major key lights also serving as backlights. 😎😎

    Great video!
    What focal length did you use one the A & B cams?

      @paulhuenefeld  Год назад +1

      Thanks the wide shot was 35mm and the side/close ups were 85mm! All cameras were full frame.

    Thanks. We weren't able to match our FX3 and FX6 - preset white balance values did not match and had to be manually tweaked. Do you have to do similar adjustments?

    • @paulhuenefeld
      @paulhuenefeld  Год назад +1

      Yes, I ran into that issue as well. It's a bummer that they don't match exactly...
      I almost always use a gray or white card to white balance, but if I forget that for some reason I'll use the skin tone indicator in my vectorscope. (in Davinci Resolve)

    great video but it would be better if you will show us more, maybe on wider lens and not so much closeups for lighting, we do know how aputure lighjts looks like and its better to see the full view. regardless, great video! thats just my opinion

    Hey Paul, which soft box are you using for the 600ds?
    Excellent video!!

    • @paulhuenefeld
      @paulhuenefeld  Год назад +1

      The soft boxes are Angler BoomBox Octagonal Softbox with Bowens Mount (48")
      Much cheaper that other options and so easy to setup and teardown!
      Thanks!

      @@paulhuenefeld Awesome. Looking forward to more of your videos. I have the exact same sony set up as you. I'm just debating on purchasing two 600d's or if I could be content with another 300dii. Any advise would be appreciated.

    • @paulhuenefeld
      @paulhuenefeld  Год назад +1

      @@adrianmack7750 That's a tough one! It's hard to give a super clear answer because that money could be used for other equipment needs you may have.
      My initial thoughts are:
      1. Definitely get a 600d if you are filming outside or filming inside and want to expose to see out the windows. Basically you need that much power to combat the sun.
      2. In every other situation where I'm not battling the sun, the 300d or even a lesser powered light will do the job
      Regardless of brand, I would have my key light be daylight balanced and the most powerful. Then the second light would be for backlight and it would be bi-color or rgb.
      So, Aputure keylight would be the 600d. Backlight could be a number of different options like the 300x, LS 60x, or P60x
      The great things is that there are a tons of different ways to achieve great lighting!

    What microphones are you using? And why are you recording in 32bit float? What’s the advantage over 24bit?

    • @paulhuenefeld
      @paulhuenefeld  Год назад +2

      The microphones I'm using are the Rode NT5 and Slate Digital VMS ML-2. I love both of the mics, but would have been nice to have 2 of either to have a matched pair.
      There are amazing articles that could explain the difference between 32bit float and 24bit, but I'll try to simply explain it.
      The most basic definition is that 32bit float records more digital information than 24bit. The advantage is the dynamic range is exponentially greater. 24-bit audio recordings can capture a dynamic range of up to 144.5 dB. Meanwhile, 32-bit float audio can capture a dynamic range of up to 1,528 dB. In practicality, with 32bit float you do not need to worry about proper gain staging when recording audio because the dynamic range is so so HUGE. It's similar to taking a photo in RAW and being able to adjust exposure and white balance completely in your editing software. With 32bit float, you can adjust the gain staging in post with no negative affect on the sound quality.

    This must of been a situation where you couldn't get the location at a different time. Where the windows wouldn't have been a factor

    • @paulhuenefeld
      @paulhuenefeld  Год назад

      Yep that's right, the room was booked for the rest of the day for an event. Ideally I would've filmed at night so there would have been zero light coming through the windows!
