America's Funniest Family in their first full-length feature film!
Following the wildly popular Munsters TV series, original cast members Fred Gwynne (Herman Munster), Yvonne De Carlo (Lily Munster), Al Lewis (Grandpa) and Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster) are reunited in this hilarious movie as you’ve never seen them before ... in spooky color!
Herman inherits a mansion in England and moves the family into an estate full of ghosts and other surprises. Also starring Terry-Thomas (The Abominable Dr. Phibes), Hermione Gingold (Bell, Book And Candle), Richard Dawson (Hogan's Heroes), Bernard Fox (Arnold) and horror film legend John Carradine (The Howling), and directed by TV veteran Earl Bellamy who directed episodes of the original series, Munster, Go Home! is a spookily splendid return for the first family of fright!

I just always wished that they kept it in black and white like the series. The color cheapens the whole thing...

To bad they re-cast Marilyn, but at least they found someone who was as hideous as the previous Marilyn in keeping with the spirit of the show..

    • @NJgateway

The "real" Marilyn, from the show was in tears and devastated when she found out they cast someone else. I don't know why they did that? Everyone is used to the the real Marilyn. Especially since "The Munsters" has never been off the air and never will be!

@@NJgateway The studio was promoting Debbie Watson at the time whom they had big plans for - but yes, I felt it was ridiculous to recast her and the movie did nothing to enhance Debbie Watson's career -

@@NJgateway Beverley Owen was the "real" Marilyn Munster, Beverley played Marilyn in episodes 1 to 13, Beverley left the show to get married in 1964 and she was replaced by Pat Priest who played Marilyn in episodes 14 to 70. As I stated above, Pat was too old at 30 to play the teenage Marilyn in 1966. In my opinion, Beverley was a lot more attractive than Pat ever was.

@David McGregor Pat and Beverley were about the same age so if you’re to suggest Pat was too old for the film then technically so would Beverley.

Pat Priest was born in 1936, so she was 30 in 1966 when the movie was made, much too old to play the teenage Marilyn Munster. Debbie Watson was born in 1949, at 17 she was the ideal age to play Marilyn.
