I have that same lock - and the picks that come with the set. It is a POS Lock that is easily picked with just a straight piece of metal and some patience in about 30 seconds. So, I can see this method working on THAT lock, but not very many others.
Even if it was a lock that would normally be hard to pick, making it transparent makes it very easy to pick, because you can see the bolts, that is why I would never get one.

Just one thing, which was probably pointed out already. Micro-switch is not suited for this application, as it is designed to switch currents of few to teens milli amp (signal), not high current line what electric motor would draw.
