- In a world where human brains inch across snowy landscapes, where perils lurk in every shadow, one community will rally behind a struggling brain-and just might change the world in the process. Learn about the resilience scale in this scientifically rigorous (and cinematically epic) video created by the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative in consultation with the FrameWorks Institute and the Harvard Center on the Developing Child.
This clip should be played in every schools, shown to every students, teachers and parents. You know, let them be aware when things are still easy to improve! I’m speaking as a person in my 30s, for a long time knew something was off but hadn’t a clue how to deal with those problems.
watching this for class. I feel bad for the man getting interrupted. He makes good stories
This video is sooooo well made, I love the animation, the story, and everything about it. Keep up the good work, I hope this video gets more attention!
My graduate studies professor posted this video on the discussion board. We're learning about the lifespan and this week is about psychosexuality, moral, and personality development.
I used this video last year in my graduate class, and will be using it again. An excellent explanation supported with cool and fun banter. A complex subject of resilience is simplified, and from here I always end up having an excellent discussions, discoveries on individual and group resilience. Thank you for such an excellent work.
simple and easy to understand with a touch of humour. Great Job
As a home visiting nurse this is a very impactful video to introduce a HUGE subject families face. Even small things can have impact and it is important to recognize this fact! ❤
Fantastic explanation! I'm currently painting a mural of the word Resilient in my small town on a building facing the highway. I want to raise awareness during trying times.
Kids become strong like superheroes when they face real challenges, learning how to solve problems and never give up. Each challenge is like a puzzle piece that makes them even tougher!🙃
This is hilarious and so impactful. Love it Love it Love it!
Stress leads to problem-solving and coping skills that enhance our cognitive skills So indirectly stress is good food for our brain
Great Video!!! My health teacher made me watch this and it was great!
This is commendable work. A book with a similar subject matter was an aha moment for me. "Rising From Within: Unlocking Your Innate Power to Conquer Adversity" by Vincent Starling
Taking my first graduate class and was assigned to watch this ICONIC video. Thank you so much for all the information and giggles you! More videos like this please! :D
Makes me think of one of my favorite books - The Brain That Changes Itself, by Norman Doidge - because it essentially is discussing neuroplasticity!
The interplay between genetics and life experiences
This is so amazing! I will be showing it to the kids and families I work with to help them understand brain resilience after experiencing trauma.

Different offspring response to parents in different ways despite the same experience
the animation so cool, i like to watch it
This was a fantastic little video full of humour and beautiful animation. I am easily able to recall a lot of information just from one viewing. Well done to the production team on making such an enjoyable, informative and engaging video! Might I suggest changing the thumbnail to better reflect the quality of the video's animation & information, and perhaps consider changing the title too, so more people would have their interest sparked in what the video has to offer.
My humble recommendation for thumbnail: Something like we see at 1:53 or 5:55
Title: Mental resilience: The key to enjoying life and overcoming trauma.
Excellent!
When spiritual strength is the foundation of our life, we then live as free souls in this life and the next. A weak person is never free. Only the strong are free. The weak are dominated by their fears, lusts, greed, envy and their hatred. Some people who are full of hate appear very strong and very confident. But they are neither strong nor truly confident. The ones who pose as strong, angry and confident have their real character exposed at the time of death. Then they are nothing more than frightened animals. That is not strength.
There is an old song "All you need is love." It is true. Not love as we know it in this world. All you need is real love. All you need is connecting with the Supreme Lord in love.
Amazing video
We really need to balance stress and be more resilient.
LOVE IT!!!

Another video looking at things at large from privilege. Tell this “everyone everywhere” thing to kids in Gaza or Yemen or Ukaraine where maybe the good things that can change your scale for the better almost never happens. Resilience is the boss, but you still need some level of luck 🤷🏻♂️
Good information... terribly corny and unnecessarily annoying and distracting video.
dude they work so hard then thats what your going to say =_=
hey I agree my adhd cannot keep focused on this.
