- A huge thank you to Kelli for showing us around her home town of Ketchikan, Alaska! It was such a cool experience to see this beautiful area from a local’s perspective. And something the boys will never forget was visiting the high school. They said that teenagers just feel familiar no matter where they are. She took us to some beautiful locations, including seeing the view from her home… not jealous at all for this one! My only regret is that we did not have more time in port as this was the shortest port time in Alaska. It is an area we would have loved to see more of!

Great video! My husband and I are 22 and we live aboard a 41 ft sailboat preparing to sail from LA to Hawaii then to Alaska before we sail south to warmer waters... we are so excited! :)

I enjoyed your video. I'm glad it was nice when you arrived. I love the Norwegian Bliss arriving in Ketchikan. Our docks have changed so much. I take it you didn't see any bears? That's my favorite part of bringing people out.
Yeah, The Bush people live in Washington State. The program was more for entertainment. That's not how our real Alaskan people live in the forest. Try Prince of Wales Island for real Alaskan families. That Island is bigger. The communities are small. That looked like Kelli Carlin that was your guide. I know her from school. You look like a great family that had a great time. I give tours. Love meeting people off the ships. There's none arriving until July 1st. Very different year for everyone, everywhere. Hope you come back again soon!!

We will be back in September 2021! We didn’t see any bears in Ketchikan but we did in Skagway from the White Pass Train ride! ! Keli was awesome and so was Ketchikan! Thanks for the nice comment!

Even though I have lived all over Alaska Ketchikan is by far my favorite place, we would take our float plane into Ketchikan to visit some family and friends and to shop for other stuff! Enjoy and maybe you’ll move to Alaska! Lol

Nice you had Kelli as your tour guide you got the best Alaskan Girl to help you. Ketchikan is sure a very nice day on your trip. They have so much to offer and it would takes weeks to go through it all. But I'm glad it was a nice visit to Ketchikan.

Great tour of Ketchikan! We didn't get to do as much as we wanted. We did find a little cafe with B&B over it that made the best biscuits and gravy. We'll have to remember Soho Coho for next time. Hopefully 2021! You all have so much fun.....
So fun! We are alike on the Diet Dr. Pepper! My fav! You four are great.
Diet dp is my drink of choice.
If you put 1/4 a cup of heavy wipping cream in a bottom of a cup and slowly pour in the diet dp (be careful it foams, stir as you go) it tastes like a diet dp ice cream float!
I try to stay low carb so it is my go to "cheat" drink!!
Nothing beats a tour guide that is local! My best trips have been when I stayed with friends living abroad who showed me around!

Love it!! I had a local friend take us on a tour there too!! She even took us to the dump to try and see a bear lol best port on the trip we took in 2010!!
We can't wait to sail our home there!

We were there a couple years ago and it rained our float plane excu8 was cancelled so we walked around town a little got soaked but would love to back.
You guys need to go to Wrangell AK , I grew up there and it’s just beautiful!
We call Dr Pepper dp. That’s awesome that u have a local showing u around. A instresting road. Sorry I can’t spell. That’s awesome that the buildings are on the water.
October and March are the best months to see the northern lights. However, it’s very hard to see them on the coast, it’s usually too cloudy. When we lived in Fairbanks, we saw them all the time, but when we moved to Anchorage, I think we only saw them once more.
if she stays there during winter, you should ask kelli to send you pics of some of the places you visited. like view from her house and waterfall
Answer you question Jason about the Alaskan Bush people are now is Washington State. Yep they moved to health reasons. I like the show.

Do Cameron and Colby love shopping LOL? The next time you go to Alaska make sure one of the ports is Sitka so you can go to the Fortress of the Bear. It's also a very Russian town

Which port have you enjoyed the most on your Alaskan adventures?? I’m always torn between Ketchikan and Skagway - if we ever won the lottery we would be so heading to Alaska
The White Pass Train Ride in Skagway was hard to beat, but hiking and the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau we really enjoyed also...then getting a private tour/drive around the town of Ketchikan was pretty amazing too! Its a toss up really, just cant compare them as they are all beautiful in their own ways!!

I don’t believe so
I think it's built there in the water for the salmon to go upstream during spawning season. I saw what you were talking about and that was my first thought.
