- I have said it before and this meal confirms it... Le Bistro is the BEST meal we have had on any cruise! The food is absolutely amazing. Everyone at the table tried something different and everyone loved their meal! Don’t let the fact that it is a French restaurant scare you from trying it! It really is that good!!! After dinner, we were so full we just relaxed in the Observation Lounge and listened to some soothing piano music. We planned on watching SIX at 10pm... but that didn’t happen... night all!!!

Always get the Escargot appetizer at Le Bistro along with some crusty bread for dipping. Don't let the snail thing put you off. It is garlicy buttery magnificence!

Don't know if you have ever tried the escargot but next cruise you need to try it if you haven't. I thought I wouldn't like it but boy was I wrong! Probably one of the top things I look forward to on our cruises.
Love LeBistro. For me it is by far the best specialty dining offering on most NCL ships.

Keep the balcony door open and let the sound of the ocean in as well as the fresh air. I did this in New Zealand with the curtains open and in came a seagul looking for a bite to eat. There was quite a circus in my cabin until we both retreated. He to the balcony and me to the hallway. I locked myself out of the cabin dressed only in my underwear. The steward had to let me in but he didn't have to laugh while doing so.

The restaurant looked amazing! I love french onion soup too! We kept our balcony door open as well, i loved hearing the ocean at night. In the morning when near land I could hear the seagulls. Very cool!. Thanks for sharing
jan booth we kept our door open too. But had to close it when the cabin door was opened or it becomes a wind tunnel.

I’ve never ate fish wiv fruit. I’ve ate tons of different fish and seafood tho. I do french press coffee at home. French press is often strong and dark.
The seats in the Bistro look soooo comfortable.

We Love Le Bistro ❤ every time we're on NCL we have dinner there at least 3 times along with Cagney's . The only time I have scallops is if they are Bay scallops I don't like the sea scallops no taste to them for me.
Le Bistro is the best and I always have ordered the tenderloin until your recommendation for the veal. OMG! I don't think I'll ever eat there again and not order the veal medallions. Superb. Thanks and happy cruising.

Love your Alaskan adventure! Le Bistro is my fav restaurant. Someday, you have got to splurge for an aft balcony. It's fantastic, wake view 24/7 and very little wind. Your parting shot was very sweet. :)

Had aft balcony on NCL Breakaway to Bermuda.... they’re great cuz they’re deep, but not much shade, and it was SO hot (July) 🥵

@@EECCTravels I was surprised that a French restaurant would have such good steaks, like that first video you guys had on the Breakaway. I would definitely have to try that, being someone who appreciates a quality steak since I had a granddad and uncle who raised cattle and our family always got fresh steaks each year. I've heard good things about Cagney's and Ocean Blue, too, so hopefully you guys can get a chance to check out those places while you're on a Norwegian cruise.

Le Bistro is amazing, one of my favorite restaurants on NCL. The french onion soup is probably the best thing I have had on any ship! As far as the bow of the ship, they open that up during Glacier Bay day in Alaska and during the Panama Canal crossing. You get some amazing unobstructed views from there, so make sure to check it out!

I’m booked on the Encore for an October sailing to Alaska. Never sailed with Norwegian before, so I came to your video wanting to know what to expect at le Bistro. The whole dinner looked fantastic, and the French press coffee was the cherry on top. For me, that is the *only* way to enjoy coffee 😆. I sailed on a Princess ship to Alaska last year, and the food was very very average at best… horrifying at worst. I mean, the food in specialty restaurants was especially horrible. Oh, and lobster night was completely vomitous. Never knew anybody could ruin lobster tails, but Princess proved that you definitely can. Hoping Norwegian is way better. I’ve done RCL too, and their food was fantastic.
When I went on MSC for the first time in February we had booked an outside room and they had upgraded us before we got on the ship to an aft balcony. It was lovely. But my sister and I are going on the Bliss to Alaska in August next year and we have an inside room. I love Norwegian but the Bliss is expensive. Since Jason loves music, the next time you go to Alaska you should try Holland America. They have an older crowd but great music venues and rock and roll. And they go to Sitka in Alaska which is great

@@EECCTravels Koningsdam is a really nice ship. If you take Hal over a typical school/holiday break, it actually has a lot of families and people under 50. Overall, I though it a nice, classy vibe, the music was more like 60s era, not the (stereotypical) 1940s or so.
And the blogs that I looked at, the go carts, had a wait time at 55 to 75 minutes during the summer Caribbean cruise. So I think not many people are doing it because it’s cold.
Jason should have ordered the cheese plate for dessert to stay in low carb land. French cheeses are amazing!
Oh we did this on the Breakaway and the cheese were so strong... we did not like them...

I ordered the scallops, as well, while my wife had the filet mignon. I made the same mistake as Jason; however, the french onion soup and crab salad were excellent. We prefer Teppanyaki and Cagneys.
We have a reservation at Teppenyaki on the Encore on Monday :)
I was brave on my last cruise and tried a salmon appetizer. I nearly threw up! It was so nasty! Not nearly as brave anymore!🤪
FYI leaving your balcony door open messes up other cabins A/C-heating system .Love your videos and your channel keep up the great work 👍
was the French Press coffee any extra cost to you?? we were on Escape a few weeks ago and I saw people with it. I think it would make me too wired to drink at night--but in the morning that stuff will wake you up and clean you out! I think that ncl uses some sort of percolator type of things in the buffet, and if you get an extra fresh cup it's actually really weak; if the coffee has been in the percolator for an hour or so, it's more normal. Overall I wasn't that pleased with the buffet coffee.

Yes very similar but with the fired sugar on top.
Hi. I´m Elisabet, a spanish girl. Maybe I Will go the next month with Joy in other itinerary. I had asked to ncl by phone if there are soya or almon milk (vegetal milk) at the ship and the worker say me " I dont knoy, I think no". I´m dissapointed about that, I traveled whit Epic and then I traveled with Royal , I like Royal; and now I Would know joy and this places but the customer service is poor in my opinion. Do you remember if there was vegetal milk in the buffet for breakfast. Thank you so much

It is an a la carte specialty dining restaurant but we had the dining package from the Free at Sea so did not pay extra.

Yes. If you have the dinner package you can eat here, otherwise it is an upcharge.
Yes, it is included in the Free at Sea specialty dining package or it is a la carte pricing.
@@EECCTravels I have the Free at Sea dining package. There's a mandatory gratuity charge on this but I was wondering if you tip them extra at the restaurant since there is a line for it.

How did you manage to leave your balcony door open and not get yelled at? As I understand it, that's a big no-no on cruise ships!
We kept it open all week and no one said a word.
How would the staff know?
@@B-ch6uk When you leave your door open it tends to create kind of an air lock in the hallway outside, and your neighbors can't get their doors open. When you walk down the hallways you can tell when someone's balcony is open, sounds like a wind tunnel! It also affects the a/c or heating, if you forget to turn your thermostat down or off in your cabin, and diverts all the air or whatever to your room and the neighboring rooms can't get any. So I've been told.
