Hi! LP are her initials, like others said, she's out of this world, all her songs and performances will blow your mind. She's from New York, her mother was an opera singer but her father was a lawyer. She's classically trained (Carnegie Hall, New York)
She still works with voice coaches.
Her unbelievably strong but controlled voice make her live concerts phenomenal.
Also, LP is a poetic songwriter, always deep lyrics, mostly personal that's why the songs have so much heart and soul and sang with passion, like this one, it's a failing relationship song, BTW, it says "just that you could cut me loose after everything I lost on you"

Fully agree with the comment below. Scott Hoying from Pentatonix and Mario Jose do a cover that is absolutely killer. Scott arranged the lyrics over the soundtrack of 'Time' by Hans Zimmer. The combination is nothing short of a masterpiece. You will not regret reacting to it.

I just saw an interview where she said she wrote this while in a relationship where she was starting to feel lonely, they broke up a year later.
I first heard of LP when she had an iTunes Song of the Week called "Someday" in June 2014. The moment I heard her voice I was enthralled, captivated and listened to the song on repeat for days, created playlists based on it, bought every song I could find and LP's music and beautiful unique voice has been part of my life every day since. I wondered then how it was possible that she was filling stadiums around the world and was clearly well known within the American music industry as one of the most talented and famous American musical artists... whom most Americans didn't seem to know... until this beautiful contagious experience is tapping unsuspecting listeners on one shoulder at a time and filling each of us with LP ♥Purely, passionately, intimately and instantly we know LP♪ and feel we are the luckiest entities in the cosmos to have shared this experience, every time we do ♫

LP would not be insulted by the "unsure of gender" thing, LP wants people to just have a style they feel comfortable in. Just be real. LP has been big in the Queer scene for a while. Reaction videos have tremendously expanded LP's visibility. I saw her live in Philadelphia last year and all I can say is amazing! She writes beautiful lyrics.

You’re hilarious and it’s been about 5 years since I first heard Laura. Something you should know about her is that her parents were Opera singers, so that’s where her vocal training comes from. I saw her at a small venue in New York and she had to sing about a foot away from the mic, lest she blow out a speaker 😂

I tell my friends that her style is > if Bob Dylan & a Spaghetti Western had a love child. She was born & raised in NY, her mother was an opera singer who taught Laura a proper way to be a vocal athlete. She has written for practically everyone on the business for the last 20 years. There is some contention about who wrote Beyoncé’s Halo, but after some researcher, if found she was a ghost writer for it & never given proper credit as it was originally hers and then taken over by someone else.
