- This song had over a BILLION views! And I can see why. She is quite an incredible artist and singer. She has an unusual voice that reminds me of a Cindy Lauper or other kind of different voice like that. I loved it!
I love her! The whistle she makes always blows my mind also her vibrato and tone, range etc.
I think that this is the best song I’ve ever heard! I’m in love! ❤️🔥
If you can’t tell by my handle, I am a HUGE LP fan. LP is criminally underrated in the States, but very popular and well known in Europe, Russia, South America +. In a nutshell: LP played SXSW 2012 triggering a bidding war between labels ( she/they signed with Island Def Jam).She/they have had ~7 different record deals with big, indie, small labels. LP’s mother was an opera singer and she took note of her vibrato at an early age. LP not only has incredible control and vibrato, she/ they also has a whistle that has it too.

One of those artists that I recognize within the first few notes. What a talent she is. Over a billion views? Not surprising. Another artist you've yet to cover had this song on top of the charts for over 58 weeks. Check out Haley Reinhart with Post Modern Jukebox covering Radiohead's "Creep".

LP did a song for the HBO series “Orange Is The New Black” called “Muddy Waters”. If you want to try that one, net, I would strongly recommend it. It gives a better representation of her lyrical talents, whereas this one gives a better understanding of her singing talent.
Oh man this is a great surprise, I love LP. Her song Strange always hits me in the heart, it's the comfort song I put on when I miss my friends

Couldn't tell you who any artist was, hated most of the music I grew up with (Zep', Floyd, etc) and then one day my wife called me into her bedroom to listen to Adam Lambert do "Mad World."
I cried. Me, the big tough Marine.
Then a friend said "You have to listen to this!" I rolled my eyes and she cued up LP.
It took me an hour to recover.
It took me 65 years to fall in love with music.
LP has had a weird career. She's written for many of today's artists. Had several recording contracts. Been done 'wrong' in the business.
Glad she found RUclips. Singly the best vocal artist out there. Mom was an opera singer and LP also trained in that style. Hope you look her history up. Pretty interesting. Stay safe!

I'm on that "experience of now" atm. The lockdown kinda threw me into that mindspace, and I've been eating the mac & cheese from the china ever since, and basically doing everything that gives me the good vibes. LP is actually one of those things. I've been following her career for a couple of years now. Another solid one that I' indulging rn is Orville Peck, highly recommend him too.
Just enjoy things in life, and live in the moment. Made me so much happier.

Yup. Music is fun. Makes me smile every day. This is a new artist to me. Took a few bars to really take her in. I'm not that familiar with Cyndi Lauper and don't know the other artist you mentioned at all, so what I heard was Janis Joplin. More the enunciation/pronunciation/little bit of mush mouth rather than the tone, but enough to send my brain there almost immediately. And maybe just a little bit of the styling. Interesting.
Love LP! I discover her when she did the cover of “Halo” by Beyoncé (black and white video). I was so mind blowing with this song that I would love to see you react to it when you get the chance. I’m sure you”ll enjoy it and will “eat the bone!” :)

I absolutely love your reaction videos but when I went look up my favorite artist of all time you did not have any. If you really want to listen to an artist who carries such powerful messages in every one of his songs and is one of the most influential people in history please do some Bob Marley.
