Rhizomes, tubers, and pups are the common ways plants increase other than seeds. Love ❤️ your pots. I just added repot-me on my main screen. I saw a few items I want from them.
Great job Nick..i was watching and saying 'Rhizome' for you everytime i saw you struggle😁♥️.. another great video non the less... much happiness and healthy holidays for you🎄
oh thank gawd for you, Nick. I have several of these exact plants that have produced so many babies, I've been so afraid to mess with them for fear of killing them. But they are busting out of their pots, LOL. esp. my trio star, chinese evergreens, and snake plants. Now, I know how to get sooo many more plants out of them! Perfect video for me, thank you so much. I will NOT be afraid anymore!
Nick if you ever take suggestion requests I'd love to see you take us out to your favorite hidden gem plant shops or your go to greenhouse you love. :)
I love Snake Plants! I was thinking the part you cut off would be a stem? At least that’s what I was thinking… I had one that developed some kind of fungus and I couldn’t get rid of it, so I cut off the healthy leaves about halfway down, put them in water for about a month (after giving them a couple of days to callous over) and they grew roots. I potted them up in a new pot and in about 4-6 weeks, they all produced new pups! I was so happy to have been able to save this plant, even though the original plant was lost. I have a Platinum Mist Peace Lily that has a pup and I was wondering if I should separate it. But, after seeing your examples, it’s definitely too small to separate at this time. Thank you for sharing! 💜💚🪴🌵
Just did the snake plant surgery (cesarean? Ha) a few weeks ago! I am curious what would happen if the whole plant plus baby were just repotted together in a larger pot? 🤔 💭
Hi Nick. Can you do a vid on jungle cacti? I bought an enormous one on FB market place. It’s not a zig zag it doesn’t have needles. I treat it like my thanksgiving cactus, but I am wondering what your experience with these kinds of plants are. Nice video!
I always have a problem with the sansevarians if I water it from the bottom it seems like the leaves get rotted if I put just a little water on the top the leaves get rotted like a wetness and I don't know what's going . What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your advice I enjoy watching your videos. You should open up a little shop where you can help people repot their plants, we just dropped them off and you just put them in a different pot of our choosing and then send us on our way until the plant gets bigger and we come back
Hæ. My triostar has lost all its leaves in the middle but has a ring of offshoots surrounding the center. What would be your recommendation to make a fuller plant? Remove the centre and add the surrounding offshoots in a single planter? Best holiday wishes from Iceland!
Nick, are you more of a purist when it comes to potting your plants? I never see you with mixed plant pots in any of your collection. Another great video!
Speaking of terracotta pots usually having drainage holes, I’m thinking about hanging plants on the wall with the ring that holds the pot and I’ve been trying to find pots without drainage holes but still have a lip on the edges. Why is it so difficult lol. Also I noticed my domino peace lily started putting out what I’m assuming are babies, although they’re still very small, would I separate them and plant the same way? Thank you in advance. Love your videos, it’s nice listening to a positive and calm person! Lol
If you can't find terracotta pots without a drainage hole, maybe you could try and glue a terracotta saucer to the bottom of the pot. That way you can still hang them on the wall
Waiting for my snake plant to get big enough to do this! For mixes with coco coir, do you find the need to supplement with CalMag? I switched to a coco/perlite mix for some philodendron seedlings, and they showed calcium and magnesium deficiencies after a few weeks.
Hi Nick! What a great tips and tricks video! I was hoping that you would show more closeups of the other plants, and divide more of them. I repotted some snake plants and 2 of them died right away and a 3rd one is dying. I always premoisten my potting mix, so that may have been the problem. If/when I repot any others, I'll be sure to remember not to premoisten the potting mix. I find sometimes that when I water a snake plant they start to decline a little bit and I definitely don't overwater them.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe you would do a video on snake plants. Please? Thank you so much for sharing!
You could put one of those black shoe trays on there and just dump the dirt in the garbage when your done then you won't have to clean the counter every time you repot.

Thank you Nick! I need to repot my whalefin pups soon and it's so helpful to watch your tutorial - and know not to water right away :)

They would probably be super happy!
Merry Christmas 🎄
Thanks for this video. The last time I propagated a snake plant the mother plant died. After watching this I think it was a watering issue 😕.
Rhizome 😉
I learned a lot 🌵

Can you propagate the ZZ plant tubers? How would I do that?

A tray or bucket will help you keep up with the dirt. hehe
You could put one of those black shoe trays on there and just dump the dirt in the garbage when your done then you won't have to clean the counter every time you repot.
Why don't you put a protective cover on your counter top so you don't scratch it up?
I’ve filled up my yard by dividing my plants
💚💚
I'd call it a tubular or corm..lol maybe
Sansevieria have rhizomes.
