      Yes, RIP Romita SR!! Thank you very much for noting that. Good call. I just wish he and other OG creators would had been vocal in how disgusting and backwards this medium has turned out to be, for former-Marvel.

      @@asteroidthefurrysuperhero5989 I think becoming a supplier for the back issue market could be for people that hoard mult copies of runs of books... As long as people are buying physical copies, over what they can access from augmented reality goggles. Do you think physical copies will have five years left, same with delivery drivers?

    New York is where marvel was born. ❤❤ NY is marvel. The city is beautiful. 🤟🏼🤟🏼

      Hi, I love that comment, although it is only true until the 21st Century, in my opinion -now, everything is dead, former-Marvel is more about DEI and ESG, as they dont even base their comics on comics any more, while variant covers and gimmicks have replaced comic book reading -the USA itself died, I dont know when, Glass-Steagall Act was repealed in 1999 or when GATT became the WTO in 1995 and the Telecommunications Act 1996 allowed for local journalism to be bought out by global corps, just after 1987 when the Fairness Act was removed -? Either way, Marvel was born in NYC but it doesnt live there any more... RIP Marvel / USA

    You can tell this is from 2004 since Iron Man is just an afterthought. The MCU and RDJ really changed things up.

      Yeah, it's amazing isn't it!?! Good point! Around this time Marvel Entertainment was working on their loan from Merril Lynch that would allow them to have their own studios for producing movies/shows in-house, which they did w/that first Iron Man and Incredible Hulk movies -I just did a vid recently on the 7-11 Iron Man cups that came out a month before their first Marvel Studios movie Iron Man, which had action figure Slurpee straws, yup!yup!

    Thanks for posting this! Really love Marvel. The comics, games and movies are just amazing. Been a huge fan of Spider-man and Daredevil for quite some time now and have been enamored by New York City. One day I hope to visit the Big Apple and tour around these places.

      Safe Journeys when you make it to NYC! Thanks for the feedback! I found this vid fantastic since it had this pre-Disney sell-out wholesomeness to it while depicting the NYC / Marvel connection based off not just the characters, but their creators -such a nice documentary

    Someone in editing this documentary mixed up their old black and white photos of white guy comics artists… at 16:20, Roy Thomas is talking about Bill Everett, but the image is actually Steve Ditko.

    Now if only Discovery would update this documentary to cover all the updates made to New York for the Spider-Man PS4 game

    • @Maniac536
      @Maniac536 5 лет назад

      Sequential Geek without spoiling anything the PS4 Spider-Man’s Open world is basically NYC but with lots of marvel landmarks. Sadly, most of the landmarks do not exist in the real world (and FF4 rights were iffy when the game was being made so there’s no Baxter Building). I don’t know if that would make for an exciting documentary it would probably look like this:
      *guy standing between the East river and UN* “there’s where the raft is supposed to be!”
      Ditto for things like Avengers Tower, which is not in the same place it is in the MCU, (it isn’t behind grand central where the metlife building is. in the game MetLife becomes the Colexo building) avengers tower is further uptown. I think it’s the biggest building in the game but don’t quote me.
      However a comparison video between what’s in the game vs what is real would be a lot of fun. Save for the Baxter Building, every location I can think of is in the game. Nelson and Murdock’s offices, Wakandan Embassy, Alias Inc, Fisk Towers, Bar with no Name, Sanctum Santorum, the raft, etc
      Then there were a few changes for copyright reasons. The Freedom Tower doesn’t exist although it might’ve been restored in a patch. The real life Bronze Bull statue was replaced by a bronze Lockjaw (with Permission of lockjaw’s creator), etc.
      I feel that the game is basically a reboot of Spider-Man’s status quo in all of the best ways. There’s none of that post-no more day crap.
