It doesn't take a genius to understand he's not the best drummer in the planet but he's certainly a great producer and being a great musician is not only about being the best in your instrument, but it's also about the understanding of what you doing and the overall song and the arrangements etc etc! It's like in car race, the best are not the one who can drive awesome, but are the one who can "read" their car and be not only drivers, but testers as well, so that they can tell to the engeneers what to do to set the car as they feel is right and that's what Lars has been doing with James during the past 3 decades!
True, he is kinda the glue who keeps 'tallica togheter. less talented musician compared to the others, but he can hold the creative process like no Jamez can.

not always. There are different parts in a song. Solos are one of them. A song can be lifted by a riff or solo or both. Kirk hammett contributed not just solos but also riffs over the years some egs Master of puppets and Enter Sandman
That makes me smile....I KNEW I heard a very familiar-sounding instrument in that song. "EET FUK" just has a very distinct tone....love that beat-to-hell MX220.
Lars is the hidden genius behind it all really you know. He has an amazing knack for arrangements, dynamics, where to push and pull a track, where to let something breathe or tighten it up. He's a businessman, a networker, a solid studio engineer / producer and makes everything tick. They would have achieved nothing without him. Hetfield, Burton and Mustaine / Kirk alone wouldn't cut it. Honestly.

7:52 in the first “uouoauo” I can hear a For Whom The Bell Tolls verse
I can hear the "oooooohhhh, on I burn" from fuel
At 2:41 fantastic GREEK T-SHIRT !!!!!
3:04 the first and only time we have seen Hetfield sore from downpicking xD
I came across this video just tonight, and noticed one of the t shirts that James is wearing at the end . It says ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ , the famous Spartan quote in Greek. Man, I have so much respect for these guys…..
6:03 that guitar has so many stories, it reminds seattle 1989's OH YEAH ?
I love Metallica and the fact that they’ve released videos showing the making of sections in the songs. I wish Pantera would have done this as well.
6:57 - That's from 'Spit Out The Bone' !
I love these kinda clips! Its shows that Metallica is the best band of all time \m/
Lars using the wah pedal is the cutest thing I've ever seen
3:04 James laughing at how awesome his right hand is
3:47 so nice of Metallica to invite a homeless man into the studio.
oh hey, the "Eet fuk" guitar :D love it
James basically did 99.9% of the song.
Welcome to metallica.
Lucas Vieira Galvão Lars obviously played a huge role in the composition and arrangements, as he always has. But hey, who watches videos before commenting anyway?
and lars did 99.9% of the arrangement as usual...
not always. There are different parts in a song. Solos are one of them. A song can be lifted by a riff or solo or both. Kirk hammett contributed not just solos but also riffs over the years some egs Master of puppets and Enter Sandman
He should arrange some time to practice his double bass drumming because his meter sucks now! Also, this is the best Metallica song since 1988.
Having a personal trainer/masseuse is totally metal
I swear I hear a little bit of toxic waltz in that raff!
Yeah I noticed that right away too.
Jonathan Andre not giving shit about appearances or how cool you are to the trve metulz kids online is metal as fuck, yes
i love this song, i love this band you are the best of the world
lars is a great fucking songwriter
That makes me smile....I KNEW I heard a very familiar-sounding instrument in that song. "EET FUK" just has a very distinct tone....love that beat-to-hell MX220.
2:55 hearing that replay though
IMO James is the riff master, possibly the best there is! Fan since day one.
Honestly.
If they wouldn't have achieved nothing without Lars, how the fuck is Mustaine still running the second greatest thrash metal band of all time, without Lars, Cliff or James to help him?
Lars is contributes a lot to the band but please, don't diminish the genius of the rest of the band. James especially, would've been one of the world's greatest riff/songwriters no matter what band he was in.
@@SA_Caine If they'd had Cliff they would have turned into the first Jazz-Metal fusion band ever.
@@RafaelCDet Medadeath my be the 2nd biggest, but they're less than half as popular.
@@saelaird and? Metallica is literally the biggest metal band. That's like saying Prince wasn't great because he did not have the same success as Michael Jackson
A lot of Metallica history on that back guitar wall. James' Kill em all V, his 1984 white gibson explorer he used for Lightening and puppets, and the white Esp "EET FUK" Explorer that he used up until the black album. Awesome that he still has these!
4:17 HAHAHAHAHAHA
Was hoping I'd see someone comment about that. The main reason why I love James as a person.
What a good kitty, just strolling around. Mine would always be sprawling on my laptop when during working.
7:52 The sound of God himself.
James is dressing more and more like a hipster dad lol. I love it. He looks like he's gonna sing a folk song and then BOOM! This killer riff rips through.
That Vocalizing he does at 8:00. Wow man, he can sing.
"I like gugga, but I have to get back in to gugga's shape..." - James Hetfield
I had to cry when I saw cliff right there in the poster
3:07 "I like gaga gaga". We know you do, you played with her at the grammy's right?
Lars has more talent than people give him credit for. He has his fingerprints on EVERY Metallica song every written.
wtf the cats 8:05
Yep, they have lots of them.
Benja Menares yeah their called "studio cats" some people use them for good luck and crap and I'm not even joking 😂😂
Cats love to climb on equipment in use (upper left corner), the reason is the warmness.
They are very wellcome, relaxing and benefical to creative works
that's not a cay... its MetalliCaaaaat!!!! F*yeah! :D
that black cats name is Sabbath
