For years, I thought I was protein sensitive. After listening to you, I got myself mega growth leave in which has some proteins. OMG, the moisture and protein balance has changed my hair. I thought my kind of hair could not withstand no comb policy, but this leave-in and castor oil did for me what most products couldn't . I am glued
Have you tried lupine protein??? I have been making a lupine and hydrolized oat protein mask since seeing your protein video . What’s your take on the pH of a conditioner/protein treatment? Personally I think it shouldn’t close the cuticle while treating the hair. But I’m interested to know your take. LOVING YOUR CONTENT
I have not tried Lupine. all hair products should range within 4.5-5.5. protein is usually applied on already shampooed/ raised cuticle so a lower ph could help keep the protein in. just my guess
@@theimperfectchannel yes, not tech savvy at all so no mic. Back cam. Looking into a mic though. I do turn off my AC etc and try to have the house quiet so that it doesn’t pick up other aounds
TY for this informative video!❤ I’d like to get your professional opinion on proteins contained in various aruyvedic herbs such as henna, amla, moringa and fenugreek. Do these contain plant protein? Are they effective?
Thanks for the video. I have 4c hair and I recently bought the Elvive keratin (10^) three months ago.a month after that I didn't like my hair, I thought that I was shedding. Is this keratin 10 percent suitable? What other proten treatment would you recommend,I don't have options to choose from here in SA. I was also thinking of trying the Max Anthony one.
I have done videos recommending proteins to try and how to select products high in protein etc. it all comes down to the ingredients and how high or low protein is on that list
1. I have uncertainty of what type of hair I have because as the days go by, when I have left it out, it looks like 4a with more 4b, but when I am done washing my hair, it looks like 3b-c. How would I determine this? 2. So I began to use a “restoring” products treatment 1x per month (so in January and February) about 2 months, and noticed that as soon as I wash my hair, my hair absorbed the water immediately! Whereas before, I would have to wet my hair a little bit longer so it would get wet before I applied shampoo. Since I have been using the restoring creams, hydrating, applying leave in conditioner and oiling my hair since January, I have noticed this change where my hair gets wet immediately. So it seems that I went from low porosity, to high porosity? Is that right? 3. When you say “protein”, and I go to the beauty store and see a product that says “restore” on the front, is this what that means? And is henna considered “protein”? I did use this in January and February (copied from curly proverbz). 4. when I see “deep conditioner” does this mean moisturizing? 5. January I began to try to take care of my hair. I used to wash my hair 2-4 times a week, just shampoo and condition then I’d rinse it off. That’s it. Now I wash my hair every 7-14 days. Is this what you mean? To do apply protein then? Or should I do it more closer together? About 7 days I actually wet my hair completely, and just apply conditioner, apply leave in conditioner and then oil my hair. Then redo my twists. At 10-14th day is when I “wash” meaning I use shampoo, and do the above, plus the “restore” product, or “hydra source mask” from BIOLAGE. Thank you for your video! I’m excited to work on the health of my hair. I have lost a lot and since January, my hair is not falling as much and took a break from heat. I have seen improvement is hair loss reduction and am excited to be on this journey.
Hi there, So many of us have different hair types on us but this changes nothing. Just treat your hair by what the majority of your strands are. Also, the hair may seem slightly different in different situation/products etc. With porosity, it can change over time and different parts of our head can have varying porosities. Definitely older hair tends to be more porous. Haven’t really heard about restorative products increasing porosity but maybe the specific products used had a high PH? Don’t get too caught up on what the marketing is saying “restore repair hydrate moisturise” etc it helps but focus on reading ingredient lists. The fist 5 ingredients are pretty much what that product is made of. Deep conditioner treat the hair on a deeper level. Moisturising usually happens on the cuticle layer of the hair. Not sure I understand Q5 but but true proteins can be used every 4-8 weeks.
Hi, hoping you can help. I wash my hair once a month and for the past 2 wash days, I've been experiencing matting and breakage after washing. At first I thought it was the brand of black soap shampoo I had switched to so this time I used a moisturising shampoo and it was worse. A day after moisturising I removed one part of my African threading just to check the stretch. Hair is still matted and breaking at the ends when I try to detangle. What could be causing this and what can I do to fix it? I slathered on leave in and Shea butter. Have never experienced this before
So sorry to hear this. I really can’t say what’s causing your breakage? Rough handling, too matted due to shampoo and other products between washes ? Or African threading causing damage as it did for me in the past? Protein could be an issue? I’d encourage you to try and eliminate things to find the real cause and fix it🌺
@@CoilyDiaries thanks for the reply. My weekly moisture routine is aloe vera juice mixed with water, leave in + Shea butter, been following it for a few months without any problems. Maybe I don't finger detangle properly, or maybe I need a stronger protein treatment. The current one I use has protein as the 7th ingredient, last used it Dec

Not 100 sure but if they do have protein, these would be larger proteins
Thank you, this is very informative. Please what protein products will you recommend for hair breaking. Thank you ❤
I have done a whole video on true protein products! Have a look 🌺
@@CoilyDiaries Thanks for your prompt response, I'll check it out.
Which protein treatment are you currently using ? :)
I use this one from Hask amzn.to/49DPu8F

Try protein on a little portion of your hair just Incase that’s not what your hair needs
