- This hand is truly incredible. It's a $2 million pot. Eric Persson has a flush draw, but he's up against Patrick Antonius with a pair and a strong draw of his own. They're playing the sickest high stakes poker cash game of all time, live on PokerGo. Let's break it down.

Perrson: I just lost a million dollars in the largest televised poker hand of all time.
Friend: wow, must have been a sick bad beat, what did you have?
Perrson: Q high
Then all of a sudden Elix Powers bursts through the wall like the Kool-aid man screaming "He went all in with a Queen high!" 😂
"honey he called my raise with QTo!"
Hilarious watching Persson burn 1 mil………😂😂😂😂😂
Persson begging for a Q or 9 when he drawing dead 😂
that has to be stress comming in ngl.
calling that begging is a stretch so big it would tear an Olympic gymnast. Man just punted away more money that your entire bloodline is worth, hes allowed the 3 seconds of confusion before he says oh im drawing dead.
Eric didn't realize he was drawing dead at first til another player told him.
The dealer knew he was dead, just snapped that river out there like it was nothing lol.
He did just punt a million so maybe there was some emotions
@@StuartFerguson55yeah the dealer was my hero just basically punched Eric in the face with that “nah mate ya dead look Jack now ship it” Hahahahaaha Eric’s had it coming for ages Phil hellmuth just saw this and is currently wanking
He's done it multiple times he rage quit a game when he won and thought he lost lol
@@krishort yeah, whenever I lose a monster pot sometimes I can barely even count out what I owe my opponent.
Patrik showed a lot of class by not asking Eric how many times he’d like to run it 😂
lol they didn’t have the choice anyway in this format but ya
I thought perrson had a big piece of Antonius in this game
@@griffinmatthews670 it's the fact that he's drwing dead bro 😅
Obv joke but Patrik always classy as fuck
Just money changing pockets in the same pair of pants.. Persson finances Antonius… Persson free rolling here
The fact he politely said 'nice hand Patrick' while we all know hes capable of doing otherwise just shows how much Patrick is respected at the tables.
Persson always has decent etiquette lol he just trolls Hellmuth
Legend has it that every time Eric eats a piece of dry toast, $67,000 falls on his shirt.
Antonius is one of these guys that can have that dead read on you from the get go. The min-raise was spot on too in hindsight. Guys just a beast.
Yeah the min raise was great for PA...since the A came in on the turn. I wish the A hadn't come, that would have made this hand far more interesting. If the turn is a brick, PA still bets $150k and Persson still shoves, would PA still have called?
I read that these two are really good buddies & hang together alot, that was surprising to me. I can't think of two more polarised personalities.
@@samcdZX yea maybe Persson is staking Patrick
Shyt Patrick Antonius is one of the true og poker gods from back in the days when tom dwan and Phil Ivey was rising up and making a name for themselves as the top poker players in the world back in the late 2000s and early 2010s.......he's probably the only one that can take on tom dwan and Ivey in their prime and be totally unfazed like a Greek god.....and I don't mean him being unworried,I mean u wouldn't be worried for him at all.....
And also he's a supermodel before he became a poker player.
Patrick Antonius is the man Doug Polk wished he could be.

I don't know why I love seeing Persson losing pots like this. But I love it!
It the Jerk-factor he brings. I love watching him lose like no one else.
@Wet Coast jerk factor for sure, did you see his heads up match with Hellmuth...rediculous.
He does have a pretty villany persona ... But underneath all that he's really a terrible poker player 😂
because he's made a billion dollars off other people losing money at his casinos...
@@wetcoast4426 he is not a jerk but kinda cocky, JRB has a way worst behaviour 😂😂😂
I gotta give Eric credit. The man makes the highlight reels and he's never on the winning end 😂. Like a high roller version of Matusow
He Lost all that credits by giving it all to Antonius
He did stack mrdr batman for 250k but that’s just a few of his winning hands
When he realized he was drawing dead after cursing he said "Nice hand Patrick". Now that's class, losing a pot like that and still managing to keep good manners. Well, plus one curse, but I'll forgive him that there.
That's kind of wrong man..But Funny as Hell 😂
@@jarirepo1172 yeah he doesn't want that call we wants to force a hand like KK to lay down but when Patrik looks him up first he realizes his hearts are dead calls for Q or 9 then realizes he is dead for almost his whole stack.. so yeah one curse followed up with respect to Antonious I think he handled it very well considering that was ~1M of his own money shipping.
Genius! Finally watched the full tourney ad. Congrats for the ingenuity, Doug and team
The card room bit was HILARIOUS
I remember a moment where Doug passed me in the hallway at Rio in 2019. I think he was having a bad run at the series that year and was talking about not sticking around in poker. Glad you are at it and killing it with content still. The poker world wouldn't be the same without you, Doug.
You may wanna licker his balls next time you see him!😅😆🤣
Did you mean 2009?
He did quit for awhile but then the Lodge opportunity came and it's fired Doug up. I'm glad for it the community needs people like Doug.
Doug might've took a big hit on his Crypto roll, missed poker, saw a lot of juicy-potential--click bait/gossip and maybe was a little bored being a married man =Mr Polk. Maybe a combo of all 4 ...!!! Good to have him back tho
@@andylymbo No. I was not at the Rio in 2009.
Great analysis Doug
And on that note let me just say that it's great having you back in the poker world
Eric is fantastic for every other poker player's game 🤣
Imagine being the guy with AK and Pearson’s got A3
8:00 Persson's instantaneous and large reraise on this board can be interpreted as quite a timing tell; - A3s, 33, and 88 would likely think for some while, and probably picked a smaller sizing, as there is rather little that Antonius could hit , apart from an overpair . Means: Antonius put him exactly on the type of hand that he actually had.
Yep excellent pickup. Persson is good at bullying smalltimers but Antonius is one of the coolest customers around.
I've seen people with the absolute nuts make the same kind of play though and usually they aren't top players.
Yep and Perrsons “you better be careful” routine when the action is on Antonius screams I’m drawing and really really want a free card. If you had 88 or 3x you wouldn’t be talking.
Doug, I'm loving your recent levels of snark, irony, and sarcasm. You cut in and out of it seamlessly, making it a true treasure hunt.
Funny that it's often about the brat or this clown.
this is a 10, 15 or 20 card room bet💀💀💀
Doug your commentating is awesome. Your side-dark humor "blow money of fire" is your true calling. You had me in stitches!!
I forgot how much I enjoy Doug Polk's poker vids...fell out of the loop for a awhile but itll be nice to binge watch again
The way the announcer calls out the action and the streets is ridiculous lmao it kills me every time
I'm glad to see Antonius still playing.
13:37 I love how this is the time stamp where right after Persson says “9 or a Q!” And the other guy says “he hit the Ace.” And Persson says “fuck I’m dead…” the arrow graphics in the background go off as of to say “send the chips to Patrick” 😂😂😂
1337
Good catch.
The thing that stands out to me is that Patrik Antonius is no longer an elite poker player. There was a raise with a small full house versus Daniel a while back where he got Daniel to fold a better full house because a raise there is something only a donkey would do with worse. Then there is this raise on the flop which is just really bad.
You must be on the Devil's lettuce to have noticed that
When Antonius asks 'What do you have?' that could be heard as how many chips or what cards, and erics panicy reply gives everything away.
I thought the same thing... Pretty sure Patrick was talking about his cards...
Lol I heard that. 100% Patrik was asking about his cards and Pearson shit so bad he started rattling off numbers 😂
Look at him when he jams. He is literally shaking.
Yea “how much do you have” would mean asking his chip count,But Eric blurted out a number as if trying to put P off from calling
@@mrwezbo could be an intentional countertell? Shaking when putting chips in rarely means weakness. lol
After that hand the rake increased at Maverick’s poker rooms. 😅😂
😂
Rumors were that Persson is playing against himself (Persson having % of Patrik).
You guys it’s really important we give Doug more money so he can be as rich as Eric Persson.
A couple of more hands like this, and Doug will be right there.
I can only imagine if Tony G was at this game and how he would react lol
This is like a typical weekday for Patrick.
I mean its typical weekday for Eric as well, luckily the money is not an issue for him.
@@ilijapetrovic5002 Imagine thinking you made a point.
@@joelwillis2043 My point is that Eric is a pretty loose player, with a lot of cash, that likes to gamble and gets involved in huge pots when he shouldnt just like the pot in the video. Not sure how you missed the point but happy to explain.
Even Patrik looked a bit shocked
When you’re playing poker at 1am but have the Tour de France at 7am
In the very beginning of the hand persson shows robl his cards I wouldve loved to see Robls reactions throughout the hand it probably was hilarious
Ah so thats how he could make that call with a fucking top pair :) j/k
7:30 “even versus hands like a three, Antonius is well in the lead” Watching too many Persson and Francisco hands can do this to a man. They are starting to rub off on him
I've seen Persson lose big before, but I've never seen him lose and have an expression like "What the hell did I just do?".
"Because one day, I'd like to be able to light money on fire like this.." 🤣🤣😭😭😂😂
Doug, great video content. I must say you do make me laugh with your commentary as you definitely take poker "as a game" and you make it entertaining to say the least..I did subscribe
Yup. There are so many chuckleheads "commenting" on poker when all they seem to want is attention.
Of course, no one can beat Ali for commenting, humor and class!
I think with persson snap raising on the flop and his rep he's just drawing and patrick picked up on it very nicely
Patrick also induced the Bluff on the turn card, by betting 1/4 of the pot, he knew his costumer is crazy and would steal the pot by going all-in, so he made the stone cold ez call.. Patrick knew his costumer from the get go
100%. Hope Scott doesn't read the comments and improve his game!
Patrik is such a Legend!
The ad for the cardroom sounds like Rick and Morty intergalactic TV ads hahaha
been watching patrick for so long, and he seems like such a sweet guy, its nice to see him get a win
Played him like a fiddle, Antonius knew his customer too, brilliant.
Simply put fish give off tells. And if you watch person intimidating physical tells after he raises flop, Patrick deduces that he doesn’t have 88s full nor a 3x, and so he takes the drivers wheel. Eric should do himself a favor and stop giving off so many tells and just stop fucking doing so much extra
@@justinhart7172 No tell needed here though. Why would you raise a boat there? If Antonius has a strong hand, you can still jam the river. Weakest bluff Ive seen in a while and a very easy call even in an online poker hand, where you won't have any tells.
@@justinhart7172 nah man let him think he's a shark swimming with the pros, it's good for the game! 😆 also, no way pocket 88s or a 3 would play like that.
@@justinhart7172 no tell needed, Patrick just has absolutely no respect for Pearson's game. He would have got it all in preflop if he could.
@@joaoalegria7578 no way Eric would play 88 or 3x like that.
Antonius, definition of poker face
Business partners moving money around.
Everyone: “wow!”
One thing I gotta ask here. I was watching the old poker shows 15-18 years ago and Antonius was there looking exactly the same. Kept the same good physical shape, same face, no sign of aging to be found I can see.
This reminds me of the early Full Tilt poker days playing 2/4 NL
Did the pots go to over 2 million🤔😂👍
Eric is just insane lol
That plug for The Lodge was perfect. Can't wait to visit on my next trip to Austin.
Is there a link to a copy of this video somewhere without this dude’s commentary? 🤔
Simply amazing how calm Patrick stays.
Yes. Lots of practice.
@@nicholasdemetriades9154 WTF are talking about?! There was NO card Eric could catch! WTF would Pat be worried about, a Queen, a Nine, or a Heart? HE WAS 100% TO WIN, OF COURSE HE WAS CALM!
All the way long. And it is a million on the table. That is not yout 05/10 cents game
I mean at least Pearson had sleeves on for this punt. Dusting off nearly $1mil is bad but losing that much while dressing like a Chad in your 50s would be the real needle.

I have always liked him for those above reasons, but also because he's not mean or has issues and seems like he'd be a great guy to go have a beer with.

That one hand was worth more than any year's worth of Patrick Antonius'es tournament cashes, except for his fantastic $5 million 2018 campaign. Nice.
Antonius is primarily a cash game player
I know Doug doesn’t put much into live tells, but they probably factored into Antonius’s decision.
Agree here totally. I don't think that s.o. instantly reraise this flop with 33,88 or A3 and other shit like AA is unlikely given the preflop action. I'd not have a raising range here in Persson's shoes.
Well. I got answers to the questions I’ve never asked, namely: 1) has Patrick Antonius aged in the last decade; and 2) I wonder if Patrick Antonius still plays poker.
1) No, he does not. this beautiful man ages backwards and 2) yeah this is not from that long ago I believe, but you could retire after this hand for sure xD
This is excellent info for the next time I have a million dollar stack; I won't have to wonder how to play it.

Any videos of him before that day? I'm just curious and would like to watch some of his older stuff if it exists...
He looks like hes living in a trailer.
And i bet at some point he did.
Shady charakter.
He owns a lot of casinos in the US. He was already well known in Vegas and private games just not in streams.
He basically checked the turn with a very small bet. Induced the all in.
Exacly! Great move against Sperwer Persson.
I don't think Patrick was trying to induce an all-in, he looks momentarily surprised when Persson shoves and says "what do you have?" - Persson responds with a chip count, but the way Patrick says it, it sounds like he is asking out loud what hand could possibly go all-in here. He then thinks for 20 seconds before calling. I think the 150k bet is pot control because the board is paired and they are so deep. If the 150k bet was to induce an all-in, he would have snap called.
@@saintjimmy456 Persson line is very weird. Most decent players will not raise on the turn there,so patrick was confused for a moment.
He’s been cranking out videos
i love your analysis but Antonius hooked his man. Three bet the flop to narrow his opponents range to flush draws then bet small enough on the turn to induce the shove making his hand look like KK. pretty masterfully executed whaling spot.
