@TheFutureIQ @ngkabra @shrikant There is no reason to frown or object to Shrikant laughing his way through this podcast. He is really tickled at this whole geopolitic aspect of how it played out. Those skeptical on 'myth'ology will comprehend why this sounds closer to reality, the way mankind's emotions weigh chauvinism, ego, manipulation, and control in an era where rulers and conquerors faced an insecure fluctuating power balance. @shrikant, @ngkabra, I assume the mentioned 'OG' claim = original claim. Although it has been put that way, I would not describe Shishupal as a 'traitor'. He was at full risk of losing his life & his kingdom under the charging 'big daddy' Magadh force. So he saw his only recourse as presenting himself as their ally, helping & assisting Jarasand in his quest for expansion. He was merely saving his life and his small kingdom.
Firstly gain knowledge if what you're speaking since its gonna make too difference in audience thoughts.. like i want to say Mahabharat was history and not any kind of myth as he said so before speaking or choosing words think twice
Your hypothesis of geopolitics reasons for Mahabharat war is wrong. There is no evidence of Panchala & Mathura kingdoms having interest in Hastinapur kingdom. Geopolitically, lands of Panchal & Mathura are more fertile than Hastinapur - as explained by you. So there is no good reason. When Jarasandha was defeated, the threat from Magadha also was eliminated. So they didn't need protection of Hastinapur. Arjun won Draupadi at her swayamvar as a Brahman and not as a Prince. So Drupad didn't plan to marry Draupadi to the prince of Hastinapur. In Mahabharat text, the reasons of war are specifically mentioned. It happened because of Duryodhan didn't give Pandavs' kingdom Indraprastha back to them after returning from the Exile.
You are correct but Gandhari used to believe that it happened because of Krishna. He mentioned that for any war the real reason would always be hidden. We still do not know why in 1971 suddenly Pakistan attacked Gujarat and Rajasthan.
@@vinsin328 Correction - Gandhari accused Krushna that he could have stopped the war by mediation but he didn't try hard enough. I don't know about 1971 war but Russia - Ukraine war's real reason has been derived by geopolitics analysts. It's de-dollarisation! Dollarisation created the conflict between Russia & Ukraine. So for de-dollarisation to complete, the conflict should end - by means of a war.
If Drupad and Krishna were cooking up a clandestine plot to get the Pandavas on their side, they couldn't openly admit that they knew Arjun's real identity, isn't it? But yes, the point about Jarasandha is well-taken: I do feel that's a weakness of the theory -navin

Left in the world which is not in Mahabharata. Ramayana and Mahabharata are itihasas Bristish leftists and so called secullerists made it storys and myth.

Unfortunately, my expertise in the geography and geopolitics of Mahabharata is not deep enough to do anything more. I just picked this up from JAB van Buitenen's comments in his translation of the critical edition.

Any thoughts on Dasharadnya war or the feud between Vishwamitra & Vasishtha? Love to know your perspective on this in a similar fashion... good video. Shrikant stop being annoying.. no offence...
It is an interesting take on Mahaabhaaratha. Is all of what you said about the geopolitical situation before the main war of Kuru-kshethra sourced from Vedha Vyaasa Rishi's Mahaabhaaratha or is it from elsewhere?
Navin mentioned his source in a reply to a different comment elsewhere. Lemme see if I can find a link...

Goofy and Savy I love this channel
Liked the new perspective. But if कृष्ण" got rid off Jarasandh and शिशुपाल, what is the need for a fight within Kuruclan. What's his real intention?
If Hastinapur is ruled by Duryodhan who doesn't listen to Krishna/Panchal then all the gains from getting rid of Shishupal and Jarasandh will be undone. They need to have their friends/protegees on the Hastinapur throne, since Hastinapur is in a very strategic location geographically.
I guess it was give n take, you (Bheem) kill Jarasandh I'll help you win hastinapur.
Also Krishna & Balaram didn't fight in war.

I heard your reasons and seriously asked myself "He seems very right", but then I heard from the other guy "Mythology"? What if I call your parents mythology then you must be bloody "I don't know what".
Next is the assumptions make great story but it completely challenges the Documental history called "Mahabharat". But there was no proof, atleast from any other document.
Third is calling Krishna names makes you my Enemy. I idiolize him cause he gave Geeta, so he can't just attack any Country just to take revenge, it means Shit. This is not "Song of Ice and Snow", this is "Mahabharat".
So you can just F off

Srikant is very bad host. Please try to be serious. DONT smile while this kind of mind-blowing talks are being delivered. Shame
he is not the 1st one to come up witha an own fictional and new version of mahabharat . there are about 1000 others version of Vyasa Mahabharatam over the centuries. Each one of us can imagine our own version of anything not just mahabharath as long as their are not required to proof of evidence to their imagination.
By the same logic that possession in 9/10ths of the law, Vyasa Mahabharath is the Original by virtue of being the sole and wide regard of the hindu community of thousands of years.Any deviation from the original vyasa bharatham may be entertainment just for fun as long as their dont hurt the hindu sentiment.
"Assassination" is not the right choice of word. If I say the person who is narrating the geopolitics is very casual in using English words and I call him idiosyncratic. A very bad way to present potentially good content. I would request both of you to read the original Mahabharat completely and then you shall realise your naivety. You completely forgot Gandhara. So misleading and subjective is the narration narration.
Ganja Baba…. Ganja Baba….Vibes🫡
Good perspective that is not justified....
If host has no idea about mahabharata he should not host like this conversation
@SantoshKumarSingh.dm2mi and @parenting4u Nonsense. The host is really tickled by this whole new perspective based on geopolitics.
Firstly gain knowledge if what you're speaking since its gonna make too difference in audience thoughts.. like i want to say Mahabharat was history and not any kind of myth as he said so before speaking or choosing words think twice

Some people are crying in the comments 😂
I dont agree with your take on Mahabharat. Source material was Wendy doninger or what?
@@vinsin328
Correction - Gandhari accused Krushna that he could have stopped the war by mediation but he didn't try hard enough.
But yes, the point about Jarasandha is well-taken: I do feel that's a weakness of the theory

Very well explained. Krishnas reasoning to like pandvas was Kunti who was his Aunt. Kunti was flirtatious and had sons from different fathers not from Pandu. In one sense Durodhan has every right to be king of Hastinapura.Krisna truly outsmarted these guys.
Bro this guy is not even following the chronology of events that happened. A little fact check is needed before you put such videos
Many factual mistake
1. Hastinapur was real daddy and actually they didn't need anyone else for security. And their gap with second ( may be panchal, magadh or chedib) power was so huge .
2. Out of 10th most greatest warriors maximum were from Hastinapur.
3. Magadh (read Jarasangh) was already finished before the war. By the Mahabharat war his son was ruling and was with Krishna.
4. Actually Mahabharat war made India weaker! All the great warriors died . Strong states were gone . And slowly India was just another country of the world

It’s not that u r talking about any local story book… it’s a maha kavya. Hope to see better way of use of words n more better information and presentation.
