I’m so glad it was helpful! I have some more tips on my TikTok but I plan on making my next video or the one after that a condensed version of all the tips I’ve been giving over there 😁
I sometimes post a cat video on my bookstagram and it went viral. 😂😂 Not exactly what I was after but it’s funny to me. I just found your videos and think they’re great!
I always think those are hilarious. Like the second I don't post something I wanted to go viral, it goes viral 😂 You can definitely still use that in your marketing though! Thanks so much 🫶
I just went out on a limb because of this video; in particular, rare insights into raw unadulterated reality such as videos like this one are inspiring and truly awe-inspiring. I haven't finishe dwathcin it yet, but I already made a TikTok video showing my new book of fantasy short stories, and am now logging into TF2 to be "lazy"... I love you. :^)
I publish through Amazon's KDP, and they give a minimum listing price based on printing costs, and then I add on a couple dollars so I make about $2-$4 per printed book, depending on page count and whatnot. For ebooks, I just want to keep it for sure under $5, but try to get roughly the same profit.
Hello ! I'm an indie author but I self-published my first debut novel, but the thing is I don't see any sales. Will you do a video of how to properly publish a book with strong strategies?
I can try lol. I don't really have a "method" or even fully outline my books, but usually start with a few scenes in mind where I really have to get to know who the characters are and why they're in that situation. So I'll start with a few scenes and work my way through the plot to figure out what needs to happen to get them from point A to point B. It's a lot of scene snippets and bullet points.
Oh. My journey is different. ;) years into it and the book isn't done. Anyway … If a single person I don't know buys my book ... I'll consider it a win. Because, we all have to embrace the fact that it is unlikely that we'll ever be able to sell enough to eat.
I totally know the feeling! I’ve been working on one story on and off for almost 10 years. And it’s SO exciting when someone you don’t know buys your book!
Different stories take different amounts of time, which can get so frustrating when it's a really long one. Sometimes I feel like it's just not time to write that specific story and it's just waiting for my life's experiences to catch up lol. But yeah I started it in high school, wrote a new version in college, tinker with scenes or themes here and there, and it's been on the backburner for years, but I know it wants to be told. Just don't know how yet.
Yeah, and some don't even make that, depending on how many orders or page reads you get. There are also indie authors making 6 figures a year. It's so different for everyone.
Love the transparency. First-time watcher and new sub here ❤
Thanks so much! 🫶

Congrats on publishing two books! And earning something without paid advertising? Amazing. How long did it take you to go from idea to published book?
Thank you! Yep, no paid ads over here. It took roughly a year. The third book in the series is taking a little longer though.
Thank you so much for this video! You are so generous to share your journey and tips and tricks! ❤
Thanks so much for leaving a comment! Happy to help however I can 😊

Can I ask how you figured out the pricing for your book? Great video❤

Hello! I am working on a video about my marketing strategy and am hoping to have that up sometime next week!
Your videos are awesome
Glad you like them! I really appreciate you letting me know!
Great video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
What’s your writing process? How do you outline your books?
Love this question! I might have to make a video on it, that’s kind of a lot to type 😆
@@itslindseeeycan you provide a quick summary of your process here?

10 years really? This makes me feel better about not having exactly started at 3 years but having notes@itslindseeey

It’s OK to call it X. That is what it is called now.
I hate calling it X 😂
I didnt realize how low it pays...only a few hundred dollars per month? Wow!
Yeah, and some don't even make that, depending on how many orders or page reads you get. There are also indie authors making 6 figures a year. It's so different for everyone.
If you are using an ai cover, try to make your own instead. People, including me, don’t support the use of unethical images
I make all my own covers. I have a graphic design degree and did a bunch of photo manipulation and digital painting.
Really? 😅 Not knowing if she use AI you just asume it. How nice of you.
It's kind of a witch hunt out here with the people who are SUPER anti-AI. Not the first time I've been accused, and it won't be the last.
Sorry about the witch hunt 😮
