Assassin’s Apprentice is such a good book! It’s definitely a slower read, but so worth it! I also desperately need to continue Stormlight Archive. I’m hoping to get back to reading more adult fantasy this year because last year I ventured into other genres, and ended up having a pretty mediocre reading year
i feel that! every now and then when i venture outside of the fantasy genre i find some good books, but nothing hits quite like fantasy does for me!
I am actually starting sorcery of thorns right now and I'm so excited for the novella/short story book. I really want to read Heartstoppers vol 5 and reread all the previous books.

I’m so excited for Chain of Thorns as well. Especially because I’m going to see Cassandra Clare on tour in February. 😆 It’s crazy how many of the same books we have on our 2023 tbr like (Wicked Fox and Daughter of Smoke and Bone). I also want to finally finish the Shatter Me series and reread all of Rick Riordan’s books before The Sun and the Star and the new Percy Jackson book come out! Looking forward to seeing your upcoming videos! 💙✨

With final empire I was a little confused by the magic, but that edition has an appendix in the back that will be super helpful

I started jade of city a few days ago but it is kinda boring for me. There is a lot of business thingy going on where they discuss loss, gain profit. So far i am 70 pages in and i am really bored. Have u read it?

just so you know assassins apprentice is pretty slow but Royal Assassin and the rest of the books in her world (Realm of the Elderlings) are so so worth it

I started the Farseer Trilogy in 2022, and it is AMAZING! I began with the novella, "The Wilful Princess and the Piebald Prince" if you can, read it, as there are references to it, in the trilogy

I'm finally reading Spy X Family manga since I am far into the anime with my family and friends just to compare as well as enjoy the series more. I also have a goal of reading the whole ShadowHunter series this year in the mix of enjoying manga reading.
I feel like I need to come on here and say that when people say Hobb's books are slow, yes, they are, but her writing and character work are some of the best I've ever seen. Doesn't mean you'll vibe with it, but I feel like the majority likes Liveship better and doesn't like Assassin's Apprentice all that much but I think it's great from the beginning! Just know Assassin's Apprentice is a coming of age story and not exactly an assassin story and you'll be fine

The Farseer Trilogy is awesome, but notice that it's a bit melancholic and dwells a lot on loneliness and some other sad stuff) I also plan to devote this year to Sanderson, but I'm not sure whether to start from The way of Kings or The Last Empire)
i feel like mistborn might be a better place to start just because the books aren't as long, although if you're a very character driven reader then the way of kings could be the way to go! each book kind of focuses on one character and their backstory!
I also want to try robin hobb and brandon sanderson, and will be buying chain of thorns and stolen heir! I read jane eyre last year and it was in my top 10 reads, it was so good

im currently reading the 'a good girls guide to murder' series..just finished the first book yesterday...i liked it..which is why i am sceptical about getting into the next book. I might read other books and come back to it..

I think you will really enjoy Daughter of Smoke and Bone! It starts out a little unusual for the first 50 pages but once you get in to the story and start to understand it - Wow. The series is incredible overall. I have yet to read Strange the Dreamer to compare it though.

Wuthering Heights is shorter but it’s a little dark and weird and everyone has the same first name and it took me longer to read than Jane Eyre- I would definitely start with Jane Eyre!

I am also super excited for Mysteries of Thorn Manor (obvi) and I'm waiting for my preorder to come in so I can read it! I'm kind of in a Rogerson vibe right now though also since I'm reading Vespertine and relistening the An Enchantment of Ravens. I would also like to start Spy x Family but my library doesn't have it and to get it inter library loan would take foreverrr so not sure what I will do about that

@katie is reading I've started it but haven't finished yet, I was in the middle of too many books when I first got it lol. As for Vespertine I like it which kinds suprised me because I thought it would be too dark. The Revenant (evil spirit almost posesing her) has some great lines and reminds me of Silas in a way. And my library has cloudlibrary, not libby and spy x family isn't on it 😭
Do you actually have favourite classics? I have been wanting to read some but i dont want to start with a wrong one that would take my interest away from classics

my personal favorite is dracula but i don't know if i would recommend that as your first classic, try maybe pride and prejudice or the picture of dorian gray! i found both of those to be very easy to read and enjoyable!!
I feel like everyone has read Brandon Sanderson's books except me. I think I may have to change that this year 😅

Can I ask you a question? I tried to read mistborn and didn't love the vibes because it gave me a lot of "sci-fi in a fantasy world" vibes. I personally don't like sci-fi in my fantasy but I did find that Sanderson's writing style was compelling. so im wondering, do the stormlight archives also have sci elements from what you've read?
well if you consider the elements of Mistborn ‘sci-fi’ then I assume you’d feel as if Stormlight is the same way because they both have unique magic systems ; but they share lots of similar elements in the type of world it is if that makes sense! Personally I don’t think either series has any sci fi elements but if you found Mistborn to be like that, I think you’d find Stormlight to be like that too

i really want to be a book content creator and i really love your channel and your editing! soooo could you tell me what editor do you use and any beginner tips? i’m so scared to start but i want to so bad! 😭❤️
i use final cut pro to edit which is a little pricey honestly, if you’re just starting out i would recommend you use imovie or windows movie maker for now and see if you want to upgrade in the future! and consistency is always my number one tip! good luck❤️❤️
