Late night phone calls from service stations all over the south west, meeting up with convoys coming from all areas, driving wee country roads sparkled off our tits from _China whites_ straight off the boat from Amsterdam, spending the weekend covered in mud in some poor farmer's field ... bliss 😁🤩

yeah in carlton place in Glasgow just the other side of the river clyde, was an amazing little club with two floors that looked onto each other and it was that smokey you could hardly see. loved it

Any subsequent 'club mix' to this should have kept with the original sound and just extended the length of this version, like The Roses did with the original Fools Gold. Didn't appreciate how good times they were at the time, it's only now looking back that I realise, "fuck they were great days, some shite, but great days". Not to forget about Strawberries and Bart Simpsons but Oms were the best ha ha ha. Speed and acid combination made you feel like the big dude from the Mr Softies advert where you just glided along the road in this weird but gentle land ha ha ha.
It's not acid house though, that was a bit different. Acid house was imported from the US, and was much more fast and frantic, but the baggies were home-grown, and laid-back.... That's why I think Happy Mondays were better, they were cool, and their music was hippy-trippy, Acid had its place, but it was such an overload of the senses. It was the aural equivalent of all that dayglo glow in the dark stuff they wore and decorated the clubs with. But you could groove to the Mondays. And I still do.
Proper didn't like people grabbing me asking me if I had any water or chewing gum you just switch off and it makes you well jumpy and all para haha I went to a rave recently and the BO levels were fucking sky high as were the amount of pasty buzzed up sweaty pigeon chests....Fucking good rave though.
