Crazy how few people know about this song. Feel like it should catch a ride on the youtube algorithm, at some point. Reminds me of the Stone Roses remix album (which was also awesome) -- probably bc Paul Oakenfold had his hand in both mixes (?). Original song came out in '88, I think.
This still gives me the goosebumps like it did back then, a lots changed but no this, thank god, this is proof to me that em days were real 😂 how good they were..an absolute cracker x
I wrote for luck They sent me you I sent for juice You give me poison I hold the line You form the queue Try anything hard Is there anything else you can do? Well, not much, I've not been trained I can sit and stand, beg n' roll over I don't read, I just guess There's more than one sign But it's getting less And you were wet But you're getting dryer You use to speak the truth But now you're liar You use to speak the truth But now you're clever And I wrote for luck And they sent me you And I sent for juice You give me poison I hold the line You form the queue Try anything hard Is there anything else you can do? And you were wet But you're getting dryer You use to speak the truth But now you're clever You use to speak the truth But now you're clever And when it's hot You start to melt 'Coz you're not made of jean You're made of chocolate And when it's cold You tend to crack You keep on piling out Not puttin' back
One of Paul Oalenfolds greatest achievements right here in this mix. Oddly, also Shaun Ryders favourite mix but, the Vince Clarke version did better. Both have equal standing in this house
Outstanding,Love from Scotland.
This is the only group out of Manchester I'd be happy to see get back on the road!
I'm back at the best parties I ever went to, with people I'll never see again....
Best version of their best song, long live the Mondays
A party anthem! And a soundtrack to a misspent youth 😁♥️
So long as there is Mondays every week.....
WFL.
Life doesn't get very much better musically.
Favourite Mondays tune all day long
Manchester 1990 great year great ecstasy
🤜🇬🇧🤛
I'm an Essex boy originally, home of the free party, and this is without question such an influential track 🙏♥️
I played the heck out of this in '88-90!
I played the heck out of this in 2011-2013... how time is so strange to us
The Tune we used to Rave to in the nineties in a flat with no furniture only SPEAKERS and Stereo FULL BLAST!!👌
Pulsating Strobe lighting & Chemicals. What a great great 7 minutes when this was played In those heady times. ✌️✊✌️. 🤩🕊️😋
drink spattered 1210s and noise complaints 🥰
@@MultiSpazzo it wasn’t just the music that was high!! 😂👍🏼
@@Gavaldo Adamski - Flashback Jack 👍🏼✊🏼

Sounds about right!
Martin Hannett produced the original mix of Wrote for Luck.
The Stone Roses remix album was a different remixer for each track.
EFFIN' EPIC MIX, never gets old...My fave Mondays track..
Wow, only sound. Excelente rolota. Saludos desde CDMX.

Brilliant
Marvelous stuff
I wrote for luck
They sent me you
I sent for juice
You give me poison
I hold the line
You form the queue
Try anything hard
Is there anything else you can do?
Well, not much, I've not been trained
I can sit and stand, beg n' roll over
I don't read, I just guess
There's more than one sign
But it's getting less
And you were wet
But you're getting dryer
You use to speak the truth
But now you're liar
You use to speak the truth
But now you're clever
And I wrote for luck
And they sent me you

And you were wet
But you're getting dryer
You use to speak the truth
But now you're clever
You use to speak the truth
But now you're clever
And when it's hot
You start to melt
'Coz you're not made of jean
You're made of chocolate
And when it's cold
You tend to crack
You keep on piling out
Not puttin' back
Happy music for happy people only
Just heard for the first time a song by N.W.A. called 'Express Yourself', and I thought 'that sounds familiar'.
No degree z just roar tallented blokes who feels the vibes top tune still love it
The seminal acid / early rave track though unheard of by some.

It was Oakenfold with his remix partner at the time, Steve Osborne.
Osborne doesn’t get the credit, but he was the actual studio wizard.
4 comments gotta be the ost underrated on youtube do you understand what you are listening to?
Yes I saw these in 1987 ish. I also had this song on a free single with a music mag and gave it away. This mix is one of the best ever
Clearly some don't 😉😁
Much love all 🙏♥️

This is my next door neighbours new favourite song, whether he likes it or not. Peace People

The Vince Clark mix doesn't even compare!
