Thank you archipelago23 R.I.P. to Paul Ryder, one of the best bassists in one one the best bands the UK has ever produced. Much love to his family and friends and all the fans who’s enjoyed his amazing work over the years. Thank you for the music Paul you will be missed but your music lives forever ❤️
What an artist. Britain really does produce some amazing talent. Big shout from the US. I'm also loving other various UK based acts like The Prodigy, Stone Roses, Chemical Brothers, The Streets, Leftfield, Faithless, Burial, Massive Attack, Stereo MCs, Orbital, Tricky, Underworld, Unkle, Sleaford Mods, AllFlaws
We were lucky, I was a teen also although I always felt incredibly far removed in a village in Essex, little did I know the raves were happening apparently all around while I dreamed of London and Manchester 🙄
@@dambrooks7578 I'm Essex and a little older I think, we went to plenty of raves in Essex and London in the early to mid 90's. Good times! I'm Braintree so we had The Prodigy around town and XL local. Man I miss the 90s!
@@davekennedy6315 I lived in Doddinghurst a village near Brentwood that I left aged 16 to move to London and got involved in the squatting rave scene... oh I was so thin and agile 😀 not anymore though 😧

Pills & Thrills was a great album I remember buying it in about 1990. I've spent a bit of time re-buying CDs I owned the first time around....Stone Roses, Wonderstuff, Ocean Colour Scene, and a few others.....I should never have gotten rid of them, now I can see myself buying Pills & Thrills again 😆✌️
For a man who seems to often(some times lets his gaurd slip)delight in appearing thick,Shaun Ryder seems remarkably poetic in his lyrics. The Mondays, like many popstars, like to give the impression they flooked it.But I wonder.Theres some serious musicianship going on here.
This might not make any sense to anyone but this song is like walking through a swimming pool. It's just that bit slower than it should actually be conventionally but in an amazing way. What a band
So truthfully reflected drug culture and 90s, sounded bit evil to start with then I started to appreciate to vibe & riffs. All of a sudden as a young lad your like"actually this is genius".
Ryder you rocked man. Tunes are ledgendary to us 90s teens getting wasted. Great times with your tunes. Never stop listening to you even as crazy grandma today😂🎉🎉
Shaun and Bezs podcast has to be the best thing on RUclips at the min. It's so good to see the both of um bouncing off eachother still after all these years!
The Yanks had nothing like this, they were nowhere, everybody knows Mancs had the best music, the best culture and the best drug's,this was the best era never to be repeated.
If you were born in the early 70s then the late 80s/ early 90s were our 60s! Made a few Happy Mondays GIFS as they were hardly any & they'll be available through FB & twitter shortly
Rest In Peace Paul Ryder. Big love to the Happy Mondays family

This song was the perfect mix of acid house and rock n roll.
RIP to a Madchester legend. Can't believe Paul's gone :(
The production on this whole album is top notch, especially on this track!!
Gotta thank Oakey for that 🎹🤟
I'd argue the production/sound was more to do with Steve Osborne tbh

Always created such catchy hooks/riffs in their tracks, very underrated act.
took a lot of E and whizz in the early nineties listening to this album in my flares and gazelles. 18yrs old what a time to be alive.

Was about 20 when this came out. MTV Europe days and The Happy Mondays were all over. Love this song.

Pills n Thrills…man, what an album, reminds me of summer 1991. This track and Kinky Afro
Heard this song in a bar lately, asked the barman for the track. That guitar hook is amazing.
Can't buy a pair of trousers without thinking about this!
Ikr! Seriously, everytime I see the note loose fit on clothing like my son's tshirt, the song plays in my mind. And I loveee it .. since 1991! ❤❤
Funnily enough, that's exactly what brought me here... shopping in town! Has to be a loose fit!

Nope, it's the PERFECT speed.
That's the loose fit rythm.
